  1. The stealership offered to come down to 8100. It will remain on the lot. FYI, it is at Bob McDorman Chevrolet. Just in case anyone happens to be looking for one, avoid this paticular one.
  2. She likes the vehicle. If she can get them down to 3 or 4 k on it, then have someone do the heads for 2k, then that is only 5-6k total. If they wont come that low, then she will walk away from it. Seems most AWD ones that are fully optioned are still going for 10K+, so total price is still a win for her.
  3. Definately not a wheel bearing, it is making the noise at idle when not moving. The stealership got back to her, they are saying it is the cly heads, carbon buildup on the exhaust valves, 2k for new heads and valvetrain, plus labor. Rob, what is your price on a set of heads installed on this? Might see if they are willing to come down on price a considerable amount.
  4. Could be. As I am searching this, I am finding some mention of timing chains with other people. Also some crap about a trasmission solonoid. They are asking 8999 for it. More info on the 02 you where offered? there seems to be alot on the 02 ones having jacked transmissions.
  5. 4.6L, AWD, 94,xxx miles on it, it is making a most interesting noise. Background: Vehicle is at a used car lot, I have a friend intrested in purchasing it, she asked me to test drive it with her. During light acceleration, it makes a sound that reminds me of a noisy fan, and it is intermitent. At 35 MPH, it comes and goes, when you give it power it will make the noise again, for a few seconds, than stop for a second, then come and go as it pleases every few seconds. it is acceleration dependant. Also, at idle, it sounds like a diesel. Not sure if this is a common issue with this engine, or if I should be looking at a cracked flexplate/broken flexplate bolt/rod bearings/other. Thanks

  9. might end up on my deploymrnt packing list.
  10. No care about the caprice, g8, cobalt, ect. In his conversation with Automobile, Lutz also essentially confirms that next year's Cadillac CTS coupe will be joined by a V-series variant, saying that the CTS-V coupe was the car that had most of the Presidential Task Force members' tongues wagging during the product-pipeline tour they were given by GM. Lutz even hints that a CTS-V wagon is not completely out of the question. (We'll take the wagon in brown, with the stick, Bob.) Drag'n wagon FTW.
  11. Id rock it. A good bit of paint and some body work, install a bar.
  12. Playing with the idea of buying some land and doing the house mod, looking for reputable companies that will turn out a good house. Who here has built a house, and who did you go through? Good stories, bad stories, shady practices to watch out for, ect. I am thinking of building in Pickaway County, Min 2000 SF building. No prefabs or modulars. Thanks
  13. My bad, 79-81 2.3 4.2 and 5.0 where the motor choices. 1981 was the most anemic year for the Cobra, the 4.2 V8 at 115 horsepower was the most powerful motor you could order, quite a step down from the 135 horsepower available on the turbo Cobra the year before
  14. I am looking at an 81 cobra, tempting......
