With Kevin on this one. As a first-time hit, I hope it doesn't break you, but I'd say the price tag is just about right. Coming clean on the board is a good step, I'm glad you owned up rather than starting a rant like so many others would. And yes, I am biased towards MUCH harsher laws on multi-DUI offenders...My cousin and Aunt(mother and daughter, in two accidents years apart), five friends in high school(one accident), and three friends who went away to college and never came home. Yeah, they can't be harsh enough for me.

The reason he hasn't been fired yet is that the union and the State have massive protections against firing to wade through. Trust me, he will not keep his job any longer than it takes to get through the hearings and paperwork. I've been hearing through a couple people that his co-workers are seriously protesting having to continue to work with him.

My Mom used to keep a 7 1/2" Black Rat Snake (constrictor, native to Ohio). the guy who had it before her was afraid of snakes...yeah... When he got loose, the douchebag caught him by pinning his tail down with a tennis racket...left an indentation about two inches up his tail, so we always had to help him get the last little bit off when he shed... That snake was responsible for the most traumatic animal encounter of my childhood...fucker took a shit on me. We had to let him go, though, when he decided he was gonna hibernate on us. He got logy, wouldn't eat, and winter was coming on, so we stuck him in the fridge for a week and then found him a nice burrow.

If you STILL believe personal emails are private...
GonneVille replied to zeitgeist57's topic in Dumpster
Wow, I would think the bigger issue than whether the guy had an affair, or whether his emails(most likely sent from his public account) were leaked, would be the fact that he abandoned the office of Governor...his staff couldn't contact him in case of an emergency, and he didn't notify the Lieutenant Governor that he would be out of communication. I guarantee you he gets impeached and thrown out of office. -
"Freedom is responsibility." -David Gerrold From Lazarus Long, the greatest creation of Robert Anson Heinlein: "Money is truthful. If a man speaks of his honor, make him pay cash." "History does not record anywhere at any time a religion that has any rational basis. Religion is a crutch for people not strong enough to stand up to the unknown without help. But, like dandruff, most people do have a religion and spend time and money on it and seem to derive considerable pleasure from fiddling with it." "The greatest productive force is human selfishness." "A committee is a life form with six or more legs and no brain." "Men rarely (if ever) manage to dream up a God superior to themselves. Most Gods have the manners and morals of a spoiled child." "You can have peace. Or you can have freedom. Don’t ever count on having both at once." "Political tags--such as royalist, communist, democrat, populist, fascist, liberal, conservative, and. so forth--are never basic criteria. The human race divides politically into those who want people to be controlled and those who have no such desire. The former are idealists acting from highest motives for the greatest good of the greatest number. The latter are surly curmudgeons, suspicious and lacking in altruism. But they are more comfortable neighbors than the other sort." "Darling, a true lady takes off her dignity with her clothes and does her whorish best. At other times you can be as modest and dignified as your persona requires." "Do not handicap your children by making their lives easy." "Never underestimate the power of human stupidity!" "All men are created unequal." "Sin lies only in hurting other people unnecessarily. All other sins are invented nonsense." "Don’t try to have the last word. You might get it."

I've been out to the last few races at the winter track, never got to run because of huge snafus with batteries. Been beating the crap outta my HPI Savage Flux ever since the batteries got straightened out, though. If I can get a couple more sets, I might actually race the MT class, assuming there's one left by then...

Our Favorite Crazy Neighbor: North Korea
GonneVille replied to El Karacho1647545492's topic in Dumpster
EXACTLY. He sat by and watched as a hostile country who we are STILL technically at war with(truce, not treaty) OPENLY BRAGGED about their development of a nuclear weapons program, yet decided to go to Iraq over unverified REPORTS of equipment that COULD be used to produce WMAs. His decisions then mean that right now, we don't have military resources to prosecute the major conflict the fat little man with the funny shades is pushing the world towards. So it's spineless liberalism to try to reach some kind of resolution other than complete capitulation(not gonna happen) or all-out war with half the world? I won't say I'm happy with a lot of shit that Obama is doing, but his foreign policy is fucking 100x superior to anything Bush, Cheney, or (God/Allah/Buddha/Cthulhu/FSM/WTFE forfend) McCain/Palin ever did/would've given us. Do you think half the Iranian people would be protesting the results of an election that went AGAINST a pro-West candidate if McCain was POTUS? Understand here, N. Korea and Iran are the BIGGEST reasons I voted for Obama. McCain would have had as at war with Iran by now, and probably wrapped up in Pakistan, too, while still entrenched in Iraq. Not to mention that the natural result of all THAT would have the condemnation of the countries that are somehow still on our side in the whole Middle-Eastern fucksoup. Right now, Iran is split over Ahmedinijads attitude towards us, Pakistan is at least half-heartedly fighting the Taliban, and the Israelis are talking with the Palestinians instead of bombing the fuck out of em. And China is at least staying out of our way over N. Korea. Hypothetical situation; VP Palin goes to the table with Pakistan to talk about their oppostion to the Taliban...yeah, not something I want to think about. -
You know, as big a douchebag as Thorne is, I agree with him completely when it comes to Dr. Rick and creationism in schools. Rick CLAIMS to be a doctor, a man who treats the maladies and diseases of the human body, yet he rejects all scientific evidence of how that body evolved. The very knowledge he rejects, absolutely and without reservation, has brought greater understanding of the diseases and maladies that affect the people he treats. If he refuses to accept evolution, then he must perforce reject germ theory as well, as the two are inextricably bound. Where's your license now, MR. Rick? As for creationism(note the lack of capitalization...), it is a religious belief, completely and totally unsupported by any scientific data. The only place it should have in school is the same brief mention that Islam, Hinduism, and Buddhism get in social studies. Or maybe in literature alongside the Cult of Cthulhu. It certainly has no more bearing on reality than the Elder Gods did.

Wow, are you stupid? W. watched N. Korea openly build and initiate its nuclear program for 8 fucking years...and went to Iraq over aluminum tubes and truck parks. -

As long as Ecclestone is running F1, then I will keep wishing failure on him, the series, and everyone involved with it. Ecclestone is a pig. And for you NASCAR haters, do you have any concept, ANY, of why the series is what it is? NASCAR isn't just the Cup and Series. It goes down through ARCA to the level of your local circle track on Saturday nights. Go over to CMS and take a look. Ideally, a driver can enter into late models, build sponsorships and work their way up into ARCA, Series, and Cup. Cup is only the top series of a huge network of lower series and small tracks. But yeah, I know none of you F1 snobs wanna hear that. You'd rather watch the same guy lead a race for four hours. So fuck F1. Let it die. All the real racing is in GT and ALMS anyways.

Well, I just skimmed through the bill, touching on the holdings, and it looks like it's primarily aimed at banning the IMPORT of spring-assisted knives, although I can't tell if it would affect sales or manufacture WITHIN the U.S.. And there is NO mention at all of non-spring-assisted knives designed to be opened one handed. My problem with the original post is that it isn't accompanied by a link to the original bill. Most of the time when one of these gets posted in the gun section without that link, I go and find the bill and read it, and usually the bill is a nothing, either having a totally different effect than what is claimed, or being so wildly or stupidly written that it can't possibly come out of committee. This one appears to be an exception. Still, try to get links to bills when you post something like this.
-
Did YOU? Did you notice that the site it links to is completely devoid of links to the ACTUAL BILL? Oh, they describe it in their own words, but they don't actually give you link to the real bill.

The tiny little .380 Keltec is a nice little gun, but it does pack a heck of a recoil, which is made worse by it's tiny grips. For guys with big hands, it is terribly uncomfortable to shoot. I could only grip it with my middle finger, with my ring finger half on the grip, so the gun would twist in my hand and pinch my trigger finger under the tip of the trigger. It would probably be much more comfortable for a woman or a guy with small hands. I don't know if a grip extension is available for it, but if it is, buy one...

Why do people insist on wasting our fucking time by posting shit like this WITHOUT A LINK TO THE ACTUAL LEGISLATION IN QUESTION.
