Technical rule? One of their athletes was ineligible. That's more than a technical rule. At the very least, all of her scores should be stricken. Which, of course, would mean that the Chinese lose the medal. And why? Here's what it boils down to; The U.S. is totally committed militarily right now. Even if we weren't, we don't have the forces to take on Russia on their home turf. Simply put, we're talking about air-lift, versus short land-based supply lines. We're also talking about a country that is on our own level technology-wise, or very close to it. There will not be open war between the U.S. and Russia. What you will see if Russia doesn't back down is sanctions, withdrawal of aid, withdrawal of trade, and opposition in the U.N. and NATO councils. Right now, though, it looks like Russia is done. They stopped, although they did take some liberties with the cease fire. One of their allies got invaded, they took it back, and they threw in some extra smack-around to make sure Georgia got the message. Georgia's whining like a spanked toddler now. I think Russia will pull back into S. Osettia, and let things lie. The real question is whether Russia will support S. Osettia's independence again, or try to hold onto it.

This whole Georgia thing is going to be over pretty quick, I think. Osettia declared their independence, Russia backed them, Georgia attacked Osettia, the Russians followed up on their declarations of support. Georgia's getting their ass whupped, but unless Russia tries to occupy Georgia, the U.S. ain't gonna do jack. We certainly aren't going to go to war with Russia to help Georgia hang on to a separatist region. Now, if Russia DOES move to occupy Georgia, then we got a problem... China, isn't going to be a problem, I think. They certainly aren't going to try to take us on over here. We thoroughly outclass them in the air and on the sea, so their massive numerical advantage on land isn't going to help them if they try to attack us here. Basically, they have the troops to whup us good, but if they try to bring them over, they all end up in the drink. Basically, the worst that is going to happen, and I admit that it is pretty bad, is we get a new cold war...

3800s are pretty easy to diagnose. If it's knocking, and there's metal in the oil, it's rod knock because the bearings are fucked. Piston slap is almost unheard of, unless you manage to pop the piston, in which case, you're gonna goddamn well know what happened. Trust, it's the thrice-damned crank bearings. Buck, have you had the LIM out recently? Do you have the aluminum frame LIM gaskets?

Well, I had a ton of fun, even if I only got saved from being dead last by one car... I gotta think about new bushings. And my power steering wasn't keepin up for nuttin...
