  1. A more local example was about ten or twelve years ago when the local Metro Parks were getting ready to cull the population of deer in the parks. The whackos came out of the woodwork and demanded the parks relocate them. So we(I was a volunteer at Blacklick at the time) ended up tromping through the snow yelling our asses off to try to herd the deer into big pens. The end result being zero deer caught, two sprained ankles and a concussion from slipping on ice. At Sharon Woods, OTOH hand, they had to euthanize two deer that broke their legs when they panicked, tried to leap the pens, and landed badly. So they ended up culling the herd with rifles anyways. But it took so long that dozens of deer starved to death. These idiots are walking around, screaming about killing deer, while the entire over-populated park was stripped of everything vaguely greenish to the level of 7 feet off the ground by starving deer, who then had to suffer through the slow process of starving to death.
  2. He lived. When the car rolled over him, his body was mostly in the dent in the side left by the PT. He got hit by the car, but didn't get crushed between the car and the ground.
  3. Umm, try 10-12 feet...possibly longer.
  4. I'm in, unfortunately, my fucking internet, actually, my fucking CABLE went out and I couldn't register...I'll just have to show up and hope there's spots open.
  5. Anybody watch it tonight? The fire engine segment was filmed at the Sutphen plant over off of the Post Rd exit on 33. The one that always has a fire engine out by the pond as a fountain.

Yo, Ash, what is it you dislike about guns? Noise, kick, the concept of handling something deadly, or the possible embarrassment if you do something wrong?(Not an implied insult, I know several women who were convinced their boyfriends were taking them to the range for their own personal amusement.) If it's the noise or the kick, I can bring out my Pop's .22 rifle. It kicks like a week-old chihuahua puppy, makes a noise like breaking a big stick, and will reliably shoot into a one-inch circle at fifty feet in the hands of a novice with one day's experience. It's also one of the simplest fire-arms in the world. It's also my personal favorite because it's just so damn reliable. I guarantee, if you obey the basic range rules, and pay attention to about five minutes worth of instruction, you will hit the target on the first shot, and continue to hit it with more and more assurance as the day goes on... But if it's the weapon part of it that bothers you, well, ignore me.
  7. I'm gonna second the opinion that you shouldn't use them for drinking water. Only use new tanks, or tanks that you can be sure were only used for drinking water before. Tanks that size could have been used for any number of horrible chemicals, many of which would either not be neutralized by bleach, or could produce even worse chemicals in reaction to it.
  8. Pretty much the same. Their price sheet on the wall by the door looks like it was lifted straight from PNPs website (I'm not saying that they did this, I'll take odds the form is some standardized PDF file somewhere, just fill in the business name and prices.)
  9. +rep for being just as big an asshole as everyone else around here... http://i2.photobucket.com/albums/y21/GonneVille/Youtalkintome.jpg
  10. I may have to think about getting some of those to add to the stock horns on the Buick...I was just concerned that they might be one of those damned PAs that used to be the thing with the local hillbilly-wannabes... +rep for adding to soccer-mom stress levels.
  11. So, what are the red things inside your grille? And be aware that if you answer that they are external speakers, a PA, or any type of musical or programmable horn, I will give you neg rep... Other than that, nice ride, points for getting it dirty.
  12. The car stands are fucking WONDERFUL. I dropped a wrench through and felt no qualms at all about crawling under to get it. At Pick-n-Pull, I'd have gone and found something to fish it out with. The only drawback is that they're a little tall, so you have to stand on a tire or something to reach the back of the engine. I'd recommend bringing a cheap folding stool if you go.

  14. OK, so, I can't find a damn thing anywhere about getting a weekend membership on any of the sites. Is it included in the registration, or do I have to sign up at the track?
  15. Quite likely, but none the less, I need some help here. Apparently, my car falls completely outside of the classifications for solo. WTF? I refuse to believe that no 3.8 supercharged has ever competed at a solo event.
  16. OK, so is the weekend SCCA membership included in registration? And what class would a modified Park Avenue Ultra fall into?
  17. Can you link me to registration info?

    Can we watch? Kidding, kidding...
  19. Trust me on this, upgrade to a fenderwell intake. If your cone is inside the engine bay, you're feeding a temperature sensitive motor a lot of very hot air. The improvement with a FWI has been proven on the dyno many times. Also, get yourself a 180* thermostat, again, proven improvements. Finally, as soon as you get the pulley and or headers, take get a PCM from INTENSE. You'd be amazed how much difference that can make even on a stock car, especially with the revised shift points.
