  1. Well, i can make sbuframe braces in a matter of hours, and a cage will likely follow. As for the compression, a race port will solve that but untill then, how much boost?
  2. First off, Turbo with no waste gate just runs balls out, max boost all the time, right? So no tuning ability? Second, 2nd gen NA RX-7, manifolds and TB posrted, 120k miles, never been apart, how much power can it take? Looking at one for cheap, already runs low 14s n/a, how much boost can I put to it? Also, its set up for dragin, how much can I expect to spend on good/agressive springs/shocks? sorry I have so many questions, I'm new to these, and I need a race car!

  4. that was my thought, if their coated, moisture shouldnt be that big of a problem. What's different about Swain? I'm not going to have to coat a whole lot of pipe. Would sanding be good? I dont have a blaster smile.gif
  5. need somethign for my exhaust pipes leading to my turbo, its a tight bay. At one point I have only about 1/4" on each side as it passes some wires. I need a coating or wrapping that will keep the exhaust gasses in the pipe as hot as possible, and the things outside as cool as pissible. Any ideas? Thanks Eric
  6. sweet, my blow off's gunna be hella loud, and thats what matters tongue.gif hope I can keep the intake manifold together. now, where can I find one of these Tials? looks like I'll need a 40mm.   8. here's a queestion. How many of you bought a fuel pump from some company, like BBK or FRPP, etc, only to find that its not that companies pump, but a Walbro?

  11. wanna find your cars performance limits, let me drive it. Wanna find its mechanical limits, let rl drive it tongue.gif honnestly dude, this car is a 5 speed right? Do you have any idea how much time can be made up with simple experience and pracitce? What RPM do you shift at? how fast can you shift? how do you launch? Dont spend any money on this "problem" untill you're sure there is one. The guy turning low 15s is likely no rookie, ask him how he drives it.
  12. The EEC tuner plug into the EEC, and the computer plugs into it. You can write your own programs, or have a tuner write them, and you just upload them. I know a few EEC-V guys that get alot out of theirs, but they know what their doing. Not sure what can be had from the EEC-V.
  13. Might I offer a suggestion? Was this yor first time at the track with this car? if so...just go more. My rookie season I dropped a full second off my ET just by driving better. Go to the track more, lear to play with your technique a bit, the ETs will drop.
  14. duley noted Thanks guys. The motor will be basicalky stock, it makes about 230-240bhp now, 190rwhp. the stock 4.6 cant hold more then 450 bhp, I'm shooting for 400bhp, about 320-330rwhp. Mods will be mild, throttle body, FMIC, 3" manderel exhaust, MAF, tune. Stock'like manifolds, possibly ported. The v8 will have limits, so a good wastegate is needed smile.gif
  15. Been shopping, and I've seen quite a few with "X-psi springs". Trouble is, i dont know what PSI I'll be running to get my hp goal, 400bhp. Then I find out about "TURBONETICS DELTAGATE ADJUST-A-BOOST system ( adjustable from 6-30 pounds )". Be this true? Also, I may be wanting to bypass quite a bit of exhaust starting out, will said waste gate be big enough for my 4.6?   20. do yu have longtubes ? Or are you talking about your downtubes? If its down tubes it "should" be an easy fix, though I haven't seen your cars setup. Ifits longtubes scraping,youhavea bit of trouble. Those are pretty complex, a PITA to shorten.
  21. hey, could I just fill a bunch of balloons with it and take them in? That was my concern, what to do with the freon, or refron, not sure what i have. How much preasure should my new lines be able to take?

  23. coolant,fue,oil,tranny fluid,PS fluid,I've moved themall in prep fro the turbo, one snag remains, Air conditioning lines, and those make me a'scared. I should prolly hockit, but this is my DD, and Defrost is nice. Plus it'd becool to say "...and its still got AC". I have a few hardlines where and exhaust pipe will be routed, I need a couple bends to get them over and out of the way. I have acces to aluminum pipe, custom bent, if needed. Anyone here have experience with the nitty gritty of air conditioning? Thanks Eric

  25. oh damn, sounds real beefy graemlins/fruit.gif I too would have serious doubts about durability with that....but it's prolly still stronger then my IRS
