i think they are both the same, except the S has lower bars, higher pegs and the bikini fairing on the front. personally, i think the naked version looks a lot better.

yeah its pretty accurate. never had the electrical problem it talked about but the helmet lock thing is true lol. another common problem is the speedo cable comes loose on some bikes. some locktite fixes that up. the only difference in bikes from 94 to today is the color. they havent really changed anything at all. the 88-93 bikes are very similar as well. minor changes really, its 95% still the same bike. parts are plentiful. they are pretty easy to work on too. im not really sure what to pay, as i havent been in the market for a while... ive seen them for around 3K or less... probably wouldnt pay much more than that. if you have any more 500 questions, ask away... cant speak for the SV as i havent ridden one. ive heard good things though. they are pretty cool looking too. i really like the tail light on em. check out www.ex-500.com and www.svrider.com for info

from what i remember the dispatch said, it was a worker there, someone with a table, and she was doing something with a gun and it went off and shot her in the leg. IIRC it was a hi point 9mm carbine.

also, in regards to gear, get something for your legs too... we have all ridden in jeans, im guilty of it too, but its really not a good idea. jeans protect you for about the first half second of a crash. and thats if you just fall over. dont even think about sliding... just imagine going outside on the sidewalk in jeans, running as fast as you can and doing a sweet rock n roll powerslide... your knees are not going to be happy. and thats just at 8 mph or however fast you are running... imagine going even 20 mph and doing that...

that seems about spot on, except for the top speed. a ninja 500 isnt going 140 unless you throw it out of a plane maybe... fastest i saw on the speedo, at near redline in sixth gear was about 120-125. my GPS unit said 115.
