  1. That was maybe the longest rant I've ever read. I'm 42 so even though I don't consider myself old....I'm not young. I don't have much against the younger generation as a whole because they face things I didn't have too. The world is much different now than when I was a teenager. The information they have available is mind blowing but so are the pitfalls. We didn't have to worry near as much about people blowing up shit, shooting up schools, the amounts/types of drugs available, parents that work damn near all the time ect ect. Another mistake the writer made was it sounds like he's taking a snapshot of city life and assuming it's like that everywhere. I was in Chicago last weekend and it amazes me that people can get by in a large city. That lifestyle would drive me crazy and I couldn't wait to get back home. That's not to say they're doing it wrong....their idea of "normal" is just different than mine. I don't think you can make comparisons between a truly large city and small town america.
  2. when I went a few years ago I had more fun down on the old section so I would say definitely do that.
  3. that's just the world we live in......I didn't say it's correct....it's just what we have to deal with. This guy IMO makes it even harder on the rest of us. The "in your face" types just end up pissing people off and make people stand up and take notice. The whole gun debate is bordered by fanatics on each side with the majority somewhere in the middle. It's those border fanatics that make people look bad. As far as this guy goes though just because it's legal doesn't make it a good idea.
  4. I know....I'm well aware of the difference. That was more to prove a point than anything else. What gun people see as an AR the general public see as a machine gun.
  5. Please......Timothy McVeigh was a war vet too with a Bronze Star. Many documented cases where vets have trouble coping after a war. You need an AR for a feral hog? Then I guess I need to pack up a bazooka for coyotes and bobcats when I go for a walk with my son. Hogs are also in Ohio....just not very far north yet and not in numbers that make headlines. That hog argument is weak at best. Even if he had it out for that purpose there is never a reason to argue with a cop over inspecting it. The fact he was doing that and how belligerent he got says a lot about his personality. Why would you not happily let a cop or game warden inspect your weapon? I've been checked several times by game wardens and the first thing they do is check your weapon. Why would you not expect a cop to do the same if you're wagging it down the road?
  6. he makes all gun owners look bad regardless of method of carry. Just reinforces the general public's idea that all gun owners are fanatics and walk down the road with a machine gun strapped to their side then argue with cops about it when the cop asks to inspect the gun. If this guy was legal he had no reason not to let the cop inspect his rifle....that he shouldn't have even had with him in the first place on a eagle scout hike with his son. Who takes a frigin AR on a hike with their son? I've went on many hikes with my son and not a single time have I wished I had a machine gun with me.
  7. not mine....there are only 2 acceptable places to wear camo clothing in my mind. In the woods hunting and on the battle field. I see some guy rocking camo and a rifle anywhere but those 2 places and I immediately think "nutcase". You could even take the rifle away and if you're out in public wearing camo you're most likely the guy that strikes up a conversation that no one else wants to talk to.
  8. if you find any at a halfway decent price would you post up where you found it? There's a steel place out here in Lancaster but it was pretty expensive there. I forget the exact price but I'm thinking it was $4/foot and you had to buy it in 16 or 20' sections. I just need about 10' of .75x.75 or even 1x1.

    april 20th

This is my anniversary.....11 years. We're in chicago. Figured i'd throw back beef in a different state
  10. you're kinda buying into the rhetoric here. I'm pro gun and I've hunted my entire life. That being said.....background checks and training mean absolutely nothing to me. Some of the most irresponsible people I've ever ran into would have no problem passing background checks and training. What I look at more than anything are actions. Someone walking around in public with guns strapped to them worries me. Period. I know the type. I'll use this guy for example. You need an AR style rifle AND a .45 in a holster to go for a walk with your son? That's a flag for me immediately. That's someone trying to prove a point and has nothing to do with pigs or cougars. That's ego. He can justify it however he wants but your average person doesn't need a pistol on their hip and a rifle to go for a hike with their son.
  11. I see this from a lot of angles. Part of me thinks what if it was a 12 gauge and he was out rabbit hunting or something? Would the cops do that to someone walking with a shotgun to a spot to hunt? Another part of me thinks that the world has changed and if some guy is walking down the road in front of my house with an AR strapped to him I would want the cops to stop and check him out. That same part thinks that if it were me with the gun I would have zero problems handing the firearm over to the cop and then answering whatever questions I needed to answer because if you're not breaking the law then you have nothing to worry about. Cops have a tough job.....you never know what wacko is walking around out there just looking for a reason and as the responding officer you could very well be today's reason. This all could've been easily avoided. Guy with the gun brought it on himself for the most part and is now just trying to crusade.
  12. there was a study done just a couple years ago....that number was like 25% or so. I'm guessing she was being fucking retarded.....and evidently you are too since you think that's what she intended after the "yellow pages" comment. If you're going to be a little prick the least you can do is not be an ignorant little prick.
  13. now that's some funny shit right there....people's ignorance never lets me down. I walk into a gas station last week and overheard the counter girl talking to a guy. She said " I messed up earlier and didn't charge someone for gas....luckily I know their name but we don't have the internet here so I can't look up their phone number". The guy obviously said " look them up in the phone book" to which she replied "in the yellow pages??" Here's your sign.
  14. they're a pretty beneficial snake to have around really. I get it....I hate snakes and always have since I was a kid. I grew up in the far southeast corner of Missouri. Every damn snake you run into down there will either kill you or make you sick. Ohio is lucky in that almost all the snakes up here are non-poisonous. Still though....I understand the kill it first mentality. These guys eat the shit out of rodents though so they're good to have around.
  15. black rat snake......they can get huge. I've seen them 6'+ and saw one crossing the road where I hunt one year that was 8 or better. By the time I got the truck stopped to go check it out I couldn't find it.....biggest I've seen though by far.
  16. it's official.....I've seen everything now.
  17. Just further proves my theory that it's mandatory every county cop be an overweight lardass.
  18. I always wondered what kind of bit to use when trying to make those designs in chairs. Say you got that 90 degree bit at harbor freight?
  19. we had a 99 GTP.....great car. I never really had to work on it at all....maintenance and a couple small things. When we traded it in it had 160k miles on it and still ran like brand new. Ran pretty decent too for what it was. I think almost anyone that's ever owned a GTP has been pretty happy with them. There are a few exceptions I'm sure but most people love them.
  20. I'm getting some short shorts, long tube socks with 3 stripes at the top, converse all stars, and rocking 1981 all over again. I spent many afternoons in front of a donkey kong or centipede machine.
  21. I thought all buildings in Pakistan looked like that? Oh....nevermind....I see the clean spot now. That must be where the explosives knocked all the shit off the ceiling.
  22. I'll be even more impressed when one of these contenders builds a car that more than 10 people can afford.
  23. app I have for 3 hours carrying your own clubs shows 1751 calories burned for golf.
  24. this guy goes a few notches past just having a temper though. I don't want his life ruined or him sued but he definitely comes off as someone with mental issues. Ask yourself what it would take to get you worked up into that much anger and rage. If the answer is someone was riding your ass in traffic then seek professional help before you look like the complete tool this guy is.
