we just got back from there on Tuesday. I tow the 5th wheel down and stay south of va beach near sandbridge. We actually go to the beach in Sandbridge because it's way less crowded than va beach. There's really no shops there either. Like 1 or 2 shops to buy souvenirs and just a couple places to eat. Not very touristy which is why we like it. Parking is $5 for the whole day and you can leave and come back. There's a picnic area ect ect. Since we stay in a campground we really just go back and forth between the beach a couple times then the kids ride bikes and play with other kids around the campground so we don't really go out and do stuff too much. The campground also has a beach area even though it's technically the back bay. Did the aquarium last year....meh.....kids liked it but that's about it. We went to Rigoletto's to eat lunch one day because my son saw it on diners, drive ins, and dives. Actually pretty good food and their pastry's were off the hook. He also saw one on Doumar's in Norfolk but we didn't make it there this trip....next year. Home of the first waffle cone and they still make them on the original waffle maker. Both of those episodes are on youtube. Last year we went to va beach to the pier and let the kids buy some stuff, ate lunch on the pier, and then just walked through downtown shopping. A lot of stuff down there but if I were to do it again I'd probably let the wife and kids go shopping and I would fish or crab off the pier.

I'm due for a new phone and the S4 was one of the phones I was going to look at. Glad I saw this thread because I'm hard on my phone. Mostly because it spends most of it's life in my front pocket on vibrate while I repeatedly call myself from the home phone.

the whole time I'm watching that I'm looking for Rod Dyrdek....that is BB right?

Someone is always just a little more bad ass when they have a "Von" in their name......I think I'm going to start having people call me that. That's a bad ass car. I'll take one in white please.

I'm wondering if he cut it off trying to climb through the broken window? That makes more sense than trying to rip it off after doing shrooms. Shrooms is a pretty mellow high really. Just makes colors way more vivid......at least that's what I've read.

Except for the "nesting" phase. Thats pretty frigin awesome. Just buy some paint & turn her loose. Your whole house gets cleaned & painted.

That's pretty much where I am too. I'll probably miss getting some of the deals but at least with sites like amazon you know you're not going to get scammed. At the end of the day, no matter what the reason was, this was my problem. I evidently didn't do a good enough job keeping my info secure whether it was me, my kid, or my wife. That doesn't change the fact that I now no longer will trust doing business with them. The good news is we have a bid on the kindle I was originally trying to sell so it's sold. That's a whole other thread. She's selling her old kindle dx. Those things routinely bring in $250 used. The kindle fire HD has more memory, color, and touch screen and we just bought our son one for $179. I don't understand the draw to the old kindle....the screen is bigger but that's where the positives stop. I don't do the kindle thing at all but my wife has a fire HD now and so do both of our kids. I just don't understand why someone is buying the old one for more than the newer ones can be bought.

That was posted here wasn't it? AR mags I believe. Shitty thing to have happen. I would like to think that it'll come back around to them but most likely they're slimey enough they lie, cheat, & steal their way out of any payback.

I consider myself very lucky. The fact it was reversed really means I didnt actually didnt get ripped off but close enough for me. I've known some guys, especially on the boards, getting hammered for thousands of dollars. I always feel terrible for them. I can't imagine that feeling.

I've been using paypal & ebay for 10 years not to mention the countless car parts I've bought & sold on the car forums and finally got burned this week. Listed a kindle for sale for my wife & check out my paypal to find I have $100 listing fee from ebay. Obviously a flag went up so I called ebay to find that someone had gotten into my ebay account. Called paypal & they were actually pretty decent to deal with & did a reversal. I'm guessing they see that a lot. I've always been careful with how I do anything internet related but I guess it's only a matter of time. Consider myself lucky really because I've known some people that's lost quite a bit of money to that kinda thing. Still not sure how they got me but my son has been doing a lot more stuff on the computer so I'm guessing he's clicked a link he wasn't supposed too. I gotta check everything over when I get home (at Va Beach right now) and hopefully I find it.

Some of these are funny as hell. The sock incident especially. I think everyone has spent way too much time trying to find a match when you have 13 singles floating loose in the drawer. Who knew the solution was to just buy an assload of all the same socks. You buy 30 pairs at wally world & for $18 you solve a major life issue.

The older you get the longer this list gets. I don't sweat it too much. It's just a part of life. I spend money on way more un-fun stuff than fun. Just gotta hopefully be able to mix some fun things in there. Go price a nice riding mower & then consider yourself lucky for getting off for $500. There's a reason I've basically rebuilt my mine 10 times.

now that's some funny shit right there

I'm calling BS.....everyone knows any exotic animal in Zanesville gets shot by the county cops out there.

I'd go with the free one myself and spend that extra money on more beer......sober skipper of course.....but I wouldn't be the skipper or sober. I'd be a beer drinking-steak cooking-$300+ richer son of a bitch.

I have some home movie video from probably the late 70's when we came up here to visit my Aunt and Uncle. It was shot at Northland Shopping Center and there was nothing around it but fields.

thanks Tim....not in your league by any means but they will get the job done. In a few months they'll be beat to death anyhow. The fleur-de-lis was probably the biggest pain in the ass out of the whole thing. I probably should go back and touch up a few spots on it because it's all I see. You can even see in that picture the right side near the top doesn't have as thick of a black outline as the other side and the curvature is a little different on the inside black section. I just know how I am though....I'll keep dicking with it until I do something that makes it worse than when I started and I'll have to redo the whole thing. I'm fighting the urge to keep messing with it and just start playing some cornhole. Me and the kids have thrown a game or two on them. They throw nice....not a lot of slide and zero bounce. That was why I wanted to use 3/4" birch for the top.

Being a car forum you guys can maybe appreciate this one. My grandpa used to always tell me the story about how he got a speeding ticket on a horse. Him and a buddy were racing after work through town on their way home. When grandpa got home the cops showed up and gave him a ticket for speeding through town.

yep.....3 channels. I grew up in the middle of nowhere in Southeast Missouri. Cartoons were only on Saturday and generally it was televangelists most of the day Sunday. I bet if I thought about it a while or asked my older brother I could tell you what 3 channels they were. I remember the first time we got cable TV and I remember when HBO first came out. Back then you subscribed to HBO and they gave you a second box. My dad repaired electronics and was pretty good at that kinda thing. He borrowed someone's box and reverse engineered it. After that the cable companies started putting the filter out on the pole. I remember holding the flashlight for my older brother while he climbed the pole in the alley and put the filter in the line (or took it out....I don't remember exactly which he done) while dad talked him through it. . Also had a "party line" telephone. That's where a bunch of different houses would all be on the same line so you would pick the phone up to make a call and someone up the road would be talking on it so you had to wait until they got finished or if it was an emergency you could ask them if you could make a call. Ask your parents about that kinda stuff.....bet you'd be surprised to hear some of the stuff they could tell you. I didn't walk 5 miles to school up hill both ways but a lot has changed since I was a little boy.

I see what you did there....

I think it will be neat for my kids to have. If I think back to stories dad told me about how it was when he was younger and how it is now it's hard not to be a little amazed at how much the way of life has changed. I wish I had a hand written account of things from my dad or grandpa about their childhood. They both told me stories but those stories get lost over time without there being a written account of them. I remember a few of them but not near as many as they told me. My grandpa was half indian on his mom's side. It would be cool to know more about her and how my grandpa grew up.

I was talking to my son this week ( he'll be 10 next week) about things he has that I didn't at his age. It actually started me thinking about what life will be like when he's in his 40's and where all the next major advancements will be made. I think we're not close to topping out the technology inventions. I still think there are several life altering inventions to be made in technology. Another area that is on the verge of a huge change is automotive. At some point there has to be a major change there. We're still stuck using outdated technology. Granted we've moved it a long ways from the Ford Model A days but we've really only made the old technology better. I think there's going to be a huge shift when it comes to transportation. I keep a journal that I started writing in when he was born. It's became more for all my kids but at the time he was the only one. I just write down random things from time to time as they come to me. I tell him what it was like growing up as a kid. Things like that. How we only had 3 channels on the TV, the only phones people had were attached to the wall in the house, ect ect. I started it because I wish I had things like that from my dad or grandpa.
