  1. Thanks, man. 99% of the time these newer Chevy Trackers are auto. Further evidence is the apparent lack of manual-locking front hubs for towing.
  2. I’m interested in an 18v impact gun to replace my ailing HF unit...
  3. Jesse nailed it. We’re going out west in 2021, and even after an intake swap for more power the 360 V8 is going to have some heavy breathing to get up the mountains. LIGHTWEIGHT is key.
  4. Man, I remember that car. Beautiful old shots. Back when I owned the Short Bus with my Maxima :gabe:
  5. I would. Even a $1000-1500 new one would keep miles off a FWD/RWD car that can’t be flat-towed. I’m still sticking to my guns on the stick-shift. That’s my only hard line. I am using this as an excuse to shop CJ5’s, CJ7’s, YJ’s as well. Tough to find non-rusted ones for sub-$4k that aren’t scooped up quickly. I should say I’m in no rush...but i figure this is a good time to put feelers out as people are looking at storing/getting rid of fun vehicles that may be a good fit here. Definitely bonus points for finding something already set up for towing.
  6. The Amigo is a surprisingly fat pig...love the layout but it’s a heavy tower. The big thing is, after selling the BMW and CTS-V, I really, REALLY want to try and get as many stick-shift cars as I can. Love the suggestions, guys!
  7. Next year, I’m looking for a small, light vehicle to tow behind my RV. While it’s a sturdy 1-ton chassis With a Dana 60 dually rear axle, it’s 1975 and I don’t trust it to tow more than 3000 pounds or so, especially through the Smoky Mountains on our way down south. - Seats 4 - Stick shift for flat towing (all 4 wheels on the ground) - if 4x4, must have neutral transfer case setting - sub-3000lbs if possible. - under $5k - A/C would be welcomed Candidates: -Geo Tracker/Suzuki Sidekick -Suzuki Samurai (tough finding a good one in my price range) -Mini Cooper -Fiat 500 -VW Beetle or Buggy Any recommendations or suggestions for what else I should be looking for? I’d tow my Volvo with a dolly, but the AWD automatic drivetrain will get damaged.
  8. It's over. That's what Blackstone chairman, CEO and co-founder Steve Schwarzman — one of President Trump's most loyal allies — and other top Republicans are signaling to the defeated president, 16 days after Joe Biden clinched the win. Why it matters: It’s all theatrics now. Even if Trump doesn't move on fast, you can. It is safe to ignore the fearful Republicans who insist the process is legit and plausible, because they tell us privately it is not. "I'm a fan of good process," Schwarzman said. "In my comments three days after the election, I was trying to be a voice of reason and express why it's in the national interest to have all Americans believe the election is being resolved correctly. But the outcome is very certain today, and the country should move on." "I supported President Trump and the strong economic path he built. Like many in the business community, I am ready to help President-elect Biden and his team as they confront the significant challenges of rebuilding our post-COVID economy." Schwarzman's signal is more meaningful in Trumpworld than any of the messages so far from corporate America.
  9. FB Marketplace peeps....is anyone skeptical of a seller who joined FB in 2020??
  10. I've looked at VW Buggy's as a tow-behind for my RV...little motorized dinghy to get into/around town once we park at a campsite. Fun runabouts, but not something I'd take on a cruise, racing, long-distance trip or "rally" drive. However....the KotH uber-car conversation is something that I'd want to invest in one time, and keep for a long time: something like Howard's Supra or Andy's 911 GT3, or Miller's Vepr. The guy I bought my Volvo wheels from in Dayton had a triple-black, lowered 911 Turbo X50 cab that he let go for $38k...it was not a good time for me (still not TBH) but after that I'm pretty resolved to get into a 10-20year car once the kiddos are older.
  11. I respect the power that Mercedes is able to put down on the road, but once my youngest grows up a bit I'm going after a 996/997 Porsche 911 Turbo for myself. Love the Viper ACR doe.
  12. She tested negative, and wife had her back at school by 4pm for cheerleading practice. Brandished the negative-COVID paper like an arrest warrant. School welcomed her back in. *shrug*
  13. It's quarantine, or come back with a negative COVID test. I agree with the logic. Wifey is with her getting swabbed in line at Ohio Expo Center parking lot...
  14. My 12yo daughter has a head cold. I have it too. Runny nose and morning post-nasal drip cough. No fever. Feeling fine. Just had to go to middle school, where head and assistant nurse walk my daughter out to meet me. A teacher ratted her out when she coughed. She’s quarantined until December. I’m respectful of the process...but it’s going to be a LOOOONG winter.
  15. https://www.dailymail.co.uk/news/article-8962181/Rudy-Giuliani-goes-court-overturn-election-results-forgets-judges-name.html Sounds like things are going great in PA for Rudy and his crack legal team of Giuliani and Giuliani.
  16. Trump has made a life for himself out of casting doubt against something he doesn't like, and using his cult of personality to carry his narrative (often, a lie) as far as it will go. In this election, which he's lost, we're forced to deal with this as he has nothing to lose in casting doubt on the results as long as he can. The bitter thing about his strategy, is it forces people to put the burden of proof out where trust was sufficient enough before. 1) Electoral process conducted successfully. 2) Loser calls foul, supporters threaten election officials. 3) Officials forced to show supporting facts, evidence. 4) Loser and surrogates continue misinformation campaign to cast doubt. 5) Courts throw out claims for being baseless or lack of evidence. 6) Loser refuses to concede. Rational people forced to deal with his narrative. 7) Repeat Steps 2-6. Fake it til' ya make it. Really, Trump's use of the US legal system is also on display here: if someone brings suit against a person, corporation or organization but suffers no punitive damages for losing the lawsuit, what's to stop them from keeping on as long as they have the legal resources to do so? He's found a sucker in Giuliani and other pro-Trump surrogates funding these state lawsuits.
  17. Thanks, Steve! Trade you my Lincoln for your K10. :gabe:
  18. My FiL has a Dual Motor Model 3 and a 2016 Model S 90D...I love Tesla's, and use his whenever my in-laws are out of town ("Hey Dad, I'll drop you and Mom off at the airport so you don't have to leave the S in the parking lot!" ) My wife and I both prefer the older S: more room, longer wheelbase and air-ride suspension are way more comfortable, the hatchback is way more useful over the 3's trunk, and just more features on the S. Not surprising that Model S's are holding their values pretty well.
  19. I'm going to blaspheme with my process below, but the only real BBQ I crave are ribs. Here's what I do to make them at home: I've used our Instant Pot to cook a rubbed rack of spare ribs 25 min in some vinegar/liquid smoke until it nearly falls off the bone, then throw it in the broiler for 5-7 minutes to crisp it up but not burn. Makes wonderful ribs in less than an hour from mixing the rub to eating the finished product. Still love smoked meats, but I leave that work to the professionals.
  20. Twin Viair 444c pumps, 5gal steel tank 3/8" air line Slam Specialties SS-7 2600lb bags "Accuair VU4"-knockoff 3/8" valvebody Remote control for bags. I feel bad that AccuAir went out of business, but the Chinese manufacturer cranks out these VU4's that works really well. I have zero leaks which is not what I could say about my last setup with manual paddle-valves. Not surprisingly, the 3/8" lines air up and down WAAY faster than my old 1/4" line system. I could get away with SS-6 bags (smaller, 2500lb capacity) but I already had the SS-7s. Just clearanced the front K-member coil spring bucket so the bags didn't rub on the frame.
  21. As I've said since before the Election, Trump's gonna need the Supreme Court to take back this W. Still ain't happening. https://www.usnews.com/news/elections/articles/2020-11-16/supreme-court-declines-to-take-up-pennsylvania-absentee-ballot-case All the FoxNews and Trump surrogates on Twitter are doing nothing more than ginning up a pissed-off base. The SCOTUS is his only hope.
  22. Steve that K10 is badass. Congrats. Here's the Lincoln laid out, finished the air ride on Election Day so it'll be easy to remember when I started stunting on errybody.
