  1. My 5-yo son has been REALLY into dyno vids on YT this winter. With Dyno Brian, Crucial, etc...are there any dyno days going on this spring that are already scheduled? I've been weaning myself off of FB...combine that with me not necessarily knowing EVERYTHING going on, makes me check with my CR bros. <3
  2. Totally agree. Even stuff I lusted after when I had a lot more disposable income pre-kids I wouldn't even bother with because of the headache. I miss my old C4 Corvette but I laugh when I meet another GM LT1 guy because the aftermarket has written off that car from a cost-benefit standpoint. In a way, if you're going to go C4, you might as well get an L98 so you're still surrounded by Holley/Edelbrock stuff, but I digress... Here's to the dreamers.......but so many cars out there are destined for obscurity.
  3. From an email I got.... "1995 Prices Return for 10 Guys! The other day, a customer of mine came in and gave me a copy of Kit Car Magazine from 1995. It was cool reading about what was popular back then, and as I flipped through the pages, I found one of our very first ads! So here's a fun idea. When we launched the company, the original Mk1 Roadster was $9,900. I'm selling ten (10) Mk4 Roadster kits for the original price of only $9,900! If you missed out on building your Factory Five back in the day, here's your chance to zoom back in time and get yesterday's prices with today's latest Mk4 technology! You can place your order online or call us at 508-291-3443. First come, first served. Dave Smith" That's a pretty damn good deal for a brand new Cobra kit car...I love FFR and would love to build one someday but that is so far down my list it's ridic. Maybe someone can take advantage of the offer.
  4. Wipe refers to the guy being a pantywipe, a shit-covered wipe from my ass...your choice.
  5. I am a big fan of what's been mentioned here already - Big-fin Caddy's, Oldsmobiles, etc from the 50s/60s/70s. You guys know I love my land yachts. A classic car that I feel is constantly overlooked from a styling perspective is the Nash Ambassador, especially the 1949-1951s. I just love the hidden wheels and upside-down bathtub body design. Combined with '40s-50s engineering and interiors, and you get a very unique look. I love the simple, streamlined rearend, too. http://www.collectorcarads.com/Picture1/1949nashsuper_1.jpg I'm also a big fan of CORVAIRS, especially 2-door hardtops. Nothing to me combined styling elements of the '60s sports cars better than the '65-69 Corvair 2- and 4-door. No B-pillars!!! Considering how they developed a wagon, coupe, sedan, minivan, and pickup...there were properly legitimate plans to take the success of the air-cooled VW Beetle and make a whole future for GM out of it. I appreciate that the engineering was so strong around air-cooled cars for daily drivers. http://www.thetruthaboutcars.com/wp-content/uploads/2010/04/CC-58-019-800.jpg As I get older, simple car designs and engineering appeal to me a lot more than the complexities mandated by governments these days. Still some great cars, but in terms of the classics, these do it for me.
  6. Zion Williamson...the dunks this kid does as a Sophomore...my sides hurt.
  7. So...that's where the noise and flames comes out...
  8. ^^^ I thought about that..."nature abhors a vacuum" kind of thing, but assumed the market had priced that into used TDI values. Guess I was wrong...and underassumed the shrewdness of used car buyers.
  9. Agreed. Cool cruisers, but I wouldn't spend too much time or money making them competitive in motorsports, since EVERYONE knows there are much better platforms to start out with.
  10. Agreed. ...and Kerry DOES fit in a Beat...with the top up, even! http://i.imgur.com/iBdk9G9m.jpg
  11. Definitely agree...I love a slammed car, but the stanced-camber and fenders that sit on the rims looks terrible to me. Even a FWD VW with 11" wide BBS in the rear and fenders to tuck it all in would look better than that stupid camber'd-out look...
  12. Seems like a cool Fox-body for $2500... I am digging that hatchback-but-with-the-notchback-quarter-glass...kinda like an early '80s interpretation of a '70s Sportback.
  13. First of all, that's crazy. Secondly, it must be a great feeling to see that flow going AWAY from your property. I was driving with some Chicago folks and they were surprised at all the standing water in farm fields and at the side of the road. I told them that Central Ohio has a ton of clay in the soil and drainage is an issue.
  14. Sshhhh, Jordan... We can't let Kerry know that he's actually providing insightful commentary from a leftist point-of-view that positively influences our thinking through contrast... ...we'd never hear the end of it from the guy. :gabe:
  15. The other problem is those ramps are NOT low-car-friendly.
  16. As I get older and bust on the younger flatbill crowd, I have to admit this is a nicely well-done video about H2Oi in Ocean City, MD. Never would've gone myself, but this really does a great job capturing video of some very pretty cars. FYI - this was in my "suggested" section in YT so I hadn't seen it until now.
  17. Wow...that's a beneficial turn-of-events for you guys. Glad this should get taken care of for your son as best as it can!
  18. I think a lot of the big cars coming out of the 70s can be "saved" from an image standpoint by just putting on a better set of rolling stock and airing them out.
  19. Still the ever-loving cheapass that I am, I stumbled on these third-world beauties on Amazon, while searching for ramps, lifts...anything to get a car up off the ground over 8" https://www.amazon.com/dp/B01MY160UD?psc=1 Anyone ever see something like this? I'm fascinated by how beefy yet sketchy this setup is for less than $350 shipped!
  20. Fuck. Yes. Well done, Brian and Lucore! Curious what kit you went with for an air-ride kit. I had some no-name bags on my manual-valvebody setup, but I'm buying Slam Specialties' SS-7's for the front because I have a problem with the bags "ballooning" and contacting the suspension. Happy to roll low-n-slow with you anytime, brother.
  21. I love that last rolling shot...it really makes the LED's and orange really stand out.
