  1. Awesome stuff, Hoblick!
  2. That's a really unique scenario, and I'm a fan of the economics if you rented out both of them. Let alone living in one and having the other rented.
  3. I'm a smart man, in sales/marketing, and fancy myself an automotive aficionado... I can't see what the f**k you're talking about. Quite frankly, if it's that difficult to visualize/understand, it's bad marketing. Surprising, as Mopar/Chrysler has a history of making some amazing packages for their vehicles in the 60s-70s that drove a ton of demand. I don't have a problem with use of the name...rather be on an LX-chassis car than the Dart LOL. If anything, they could've used the Gremlin name for the Dart/Avenger to spruce it up. RIP FCA small cars.
  4. 6.0L LQ4 (Silverado, GM Trucks) makes 464hp for $5k. I'd start there, and get a trans to match. http://www.superchevy.com/how-to/engines-drivetrain/1605-ls-fun-for-cheap-budget-rebuild-lq9-makes-464-hp/
  5. The thing has the headlights of a BMW 5-series, the roofline and swooping a$$ of an Audi A7. Both of those are automatic-only. I'm a stick-shift nut, and I have to admit I'm very impressed with this from Kia. I'd definitely pick it over a Hyundai Genesis or Equus or whatever. In for grabbing a Stinger GT when they're sub-$12k in a few years.
  6. +1. I was staring at that ad through a 1hr30min call I just got off of...I now want an Amarillo GT in the worst way. What I really need to do is invent a sticker package for Cleetus.
  7. Did they really use "indianish" in the ad copy? Aahh...those were the days [/archie bunker]
  8. I go to Chicago for management meetings...with the CTA/Metra system, why not just stay in the Loop/downtown and use the trains to get around? It's not more than 20-30minutes added to wherever you need to be. I've stayed at the Millennium, Palmer House...if you're downtown there are a ton of great bars to go to (el Hefe, Three Dots and a Dash, etc...)
  9. Kerry, no shit...you could make a lot of money compiling your obscure car knowledge into clickbait websites... "Top 10 Japanese Motorcycles in the 70s...NUMBER 6 WILL BLOW YOUR MIND" "What Shirley Muldowney and Linda Vaughn did at racetracks WILL SHOCK YOU."
  10. That pic reminds me... Draglites are so 1990 it hurts. Please, save some of your budget for some Corvette knock-off wheels (ZO6, ZR-1, etc...). If we want to all have a great long-term relationship, might as well be honest.
  11. Plus, if you go and see Derek in person, you might get some venison jerky!!! *Venison jerky not available with on-site servicing.
  12. From recent builds locally, as well as a lot of YouToobin' I've been up to with this stupid cold...I would unfortunately suggest an LS-swap, unless you already have a lot of the pieces you need for the SBC. Figure you'll be $3k into a decent CL/eBay Chevy 350/383 build, with a lot of work...and you'll be happy if you're pushing 400-425hp. LS swap will ensure power, reliability, and some economy with the guarantee of aftermarket parts for the next 25 years. If there's no tranny in your roller, even more reason to get an LS/4L60 take out from a dismantler. Start from there and use bolt-ons as your budget affords to build power. How is the fuel system set up? Electric pump-in-tank? If you're looking to keep it as simple, carb'd as you can get it just to do some track days, go cruising, and have fun without throwing a bunch of dough at it, just get a 383 stroker (if possible) that someone's getting rid of.
  13. Anyone have some recommendations on electric pressure washers? I've got a couple of Amazon GC's from Christmas and been looking at something from there, or the HF: http://www.harborfreight.com/1650-psi-125-gpm-electric-pressure-washer-69488.html I like the idea of the foamy spray, mixing soap with the pressure washer, but I can certainly apply soap normally and use the pressure washer to just rinse.
  14. I saw this product through Business First last week. Sounds like he's getting great press! Good luck to the guy!
  15. Welcome to the site! What's powering that thing? Don't see too many hardtop 3rd-gen F-bodies! Heck, come to the suburbs and you don't see too many 3rd-gens anyway.
  16. Welcome to the site, Josh! In for pics. A lot of us remember the East Broad days...back before that whole intarnet/social medias thing changed everything.
  17. Derek: selling you tires like it's his job.:thumbup:
  18. My older brother is looking to visit me in C'Bus from DC where he lives, and he was hoping to get tickets to see a CBJ game that weekend as well. I realize that it's the Pens so it's going to be a popular game, but given I'm reaching out far enough in advance, I'm hoping someone on the board may have season tix and already know that they won't be making that game. Please let me know if you have 2-3 tickets for Feb 17th. Thank you!
  19. Ant, you're talking pneumatic Earthquake XL tools, right? I think OP is looking for cordless electric impact tools...

    Elio

I like that kit idea... FUlly functional car, everything included at a sub $7k price...just got to put it together from a pack of parts.

  22. Geebus, man...this is a clincher. If there are bricks and city-doesn't-care-about-your-stance speedbumps right outside your front door, I would pass for now. Save your money for better parts. You spend half of your budget on Racelands and you'll spend 3x more fixing parts on your car when suspension bits/oilpans/tires wear out prematurely.
  23. It's a Honda Civic...keep your eyes peeled on Honda forums and maybe a decent set of used quality pieces will come up for sale.
  24. Sean, you've got my contact info. I'm not saying I'm trying to get rich, but if I can help someone, I don't turn away $20-50 cash jobs when I have flexibility with time.
