  1. We've got 55-60 spots in the lot where Bike Night and Friday Night Car Show is held, just to the east of the building. We will see you at CC&C in the morning, and then QS&L for lunch/hangout in the early afternoon! When you get there, they will be reserving tables on the patio. Make sure you mention you're with Cars and Coffee and they'll try to get you preferential seating and service.
  2. OT, but can people reasonably install the later '87-93 Mustang sealed-beam headlights on an earlier '80s SVO? I love the look and the car, but I HATE the somewhat smooth parking lights, with the Autozone-Special glass headlights recessed into the nose.

  4. That is a cool idea. If it gets people out from behind a computer, then I'm all for it.
  5. That is a very specific vehicle.
  6. I ran eBay cross-drilled/slotted rotors on my Corvette and Passat, never had a cracking issue but in both cases I used higher-quality, ceramic pads. IMO you can get great rotors, but if your pads suck it's going to create a lot of heat/dust and cracking. 99% of rotors are all cast in China anyway: you're paying either for truly high-performance rotors, or someone is machining Chinese blanks. And I did take my Corvette to BeaveRun back in the day, for a private event with only about 12 cars. I did a ton of laps and stayed on the ass of my friends' Ford GT in the turns. Rotors/pads were always fine.

  8. This thread makes my head hurt. I'm going to take an ibuprofen and go to bed early.
  9. 11:30-12pm... Not set in stone...
  10. Dude...I never thought of that...is a targa top a convertible? [iNSERT MIND BLOWN MEME HERE] I've got mad love for the Venom GT nonetheless. ROFLcopter at over $1MM tag doe. Waiting to pick one up 20 years from now for a song, once everyone's gone electric.
  11. YAY! Oh wait...I can't see pics through my work firewall.
  12. So, in an effort to keep car buds involved after CC&C this year, we're coming up with cruises AFTERWARDS - will ultimately be a few open houses, lunch spots...fun car-related destinations to drive to. I've got 25 parking spaces reserved at QS&L - Polaris, with the option for more if I get an accurate count. Anyone interested? I'll be setting up an event on FB as well. Thanks!
  13. I like that they have relatively unfettered access to the central belly for trans/exhaust work as needed, plus allow full suspension droop.
  14. TTT - weather is looking great for next Monday, and they need at least 6 cars. We're at 5 right now. The more the merrier!
  15. I'll just leave this here. http://www.columbusracing.com/forums/showthread.php?t=124390&highlight=sabre
  16. I agree about NASA: in the past, space/military exploration could only be accomplished by governments with the ability to generate revenue from taxes and manage monetary markets for nearly unlimited funding sources. The sort of access to technology and exotic materials needed for such high-cost development was prohibitively expensive to the private sector; in order to protect our way of life, the gubmint had to fund that sort of development, assisted by contracted arrangements with colleges/universities and very strong corporations. Now, with open (<<relatively) global communications and access to technology - as well as utilization of proven materials (ceramics, composites, engineered alloys), the private sector can play ball with the space race. NASA hates competition, and has to resort to such development methods as partnering with CTD for Lamborghini modifications. #thestruggleisreal
  17. I thought the gated shifter was an awesome idea...until I realized that I'll bet that Kevlar-synchroed transmission - being a T56, the shifter is mounted directly into the trans and sliders for the shifter forks - ALL THE TRANNY NOISE will transmit through the shifter knob and rattle that gated bezel.
  18. Thanks, Tom. I sent Brad a response. Car sold off. No need for this thread for me.
  19. Was at my main tool store - Harbor Freight - yesterday to get supplies. Clerk told me about the orange sticker prices being part of the "Inside Track Club" http://www.harborfreight.com/inside-track Anyone a part of this?
  20. +1. What kills me is when you know you trimmed a corner for cost/time, and you INSTANTLY realize the moment a McSteak is made that you could've done it right the first time and saved $100s/$1000s. It's gonna happen. Can only get wiser from here, hopefully.
  21. As I'm scrolling down, reading...I thought the exact thing as others: 1) Man, that sucks to hear. 2) I saw an ad for QuickJacks by Ranger in HOTROD whilst taking a dump last night. Gonna have to ask for that for my birfday. I'm wrenching out the wheel bearings on my BMW and this whole jack-and-jackstands-hoisting-the-car-precariously-13"-above-the-ground-giving-me-a-backache is starting to get old, and that detached garage isn't going to happen.
