  1. NICE CALL!!!! I can start there. I'd probably like a couple of 2oz bottles
  2. Aside from my boy Kevin Clifford, expertly taking care of my CTS-V right now...I have a few areas of rust on the Lincoln I want to sand, treat, and then brush over with paint to blend it in. Is there anything special to blending a paint code from 1978? Anyone know of a resource or person I can speak with? I'll do the repairs...just want a few ounces of gold metallic to kinda match the factory paint. Thank you!
  3. Paul, as a parent myself, I can tell you that it seems like a lot is going on at 2 years of age, but nothing much is being processed. Just go somewhere outdoorsy, and fun for you and the missus. The kid will have a great time as long as there's a pool/lake and some room to explore. Even Hocking Hills would be a good spot. Just rent a cabin, take an off-roadsy stroller or the Baby Bjorn and strap the kid down. Go for some walks, get some great pics, eat some fun food, and be back in 3 days for ultra cheap. Along that route, check out Oglebay in WV. Great cabins, central play/pool area, playgrounds, lake to fish/paddleboat...just a great spot not 3 hours away.
  4. I have the XDS .45ACP, and I freaking love it. Shot a bunch with Joe for my CCW, shot a bunch afterwards with my wife and FiL, and really loved the power of the XDS for the size.
  5. I'm a HUGE fan of the Air Force Museum. Problem is you really need at least 2 hours to walk the hangars. A 2-year old will not find it fun.
  6. Shoulda kept the Lincoln.

  8. http://oppositelock.kinja.com/the-time-the-air-force-shot-a-bear-out-of-a-b-58-1766938708 Awesome story, partially because people would absolutely lose their minds if this happened today. However, I lost it at the comments.
  9. I like that...very "Formula 1"-looking...
  10. I love the car. Looking forward to Tesla making electric cars more mainstream: cheaper, longer range. I can see owning one at some point.

Even more of a reason to derail the storyline and introduce a new one. Filming a street-racing car show in Iceland? HELLO???? Fact is, at a time when people were quickly writing off cars as irrelevant and dying - even today, with more talk about electric/autonomous vehicles - this franchise is one of the most successful movie series ever (let alone about cars) and I just hope not the last successful movie about cars.
  12. Derek continues to impress me. A+++ as always. After overanalyzing cheap whitewall tires for at least 4 months, I consulted with Derek a few times about my options for the '78 Lincoln. I finally pulled the trigger, and brought my wire wheels to him to simplify things. The price Derek gave me on some good Mastercrafts installed couldn't be beat, and I got the wheels/tires back in 2 hours. He could've delivered them to me if I responded to his text sooner! I really appreciate guys that consistently deliver with great service at excellent prices. Thank you again, Derek!:thumbup:

Very cool. I liked the Avengers pieces filmed in Cleveland. There's no such thing as bad publicity when talking about this sort of exposure.
  14. Guys, bringing this up to see if anyone is interested. $5500 is a CR price, and I will not go down any further. Miles are now at 126k and will go up, but not by much. Since last year: The GOOD - All new brakes - rotors, ceramic pads, ATE 200 brake fluid - New rear wheel bearings - Repaired exhaust - I have the passenger-side top-mechanism cover...not installed. (if you look at the interior pic above, you'll see on the hard tonneau cover there is a drivers' side cover by the hinge but the passengers' side is open. This is the cover I'm talking about. A guy in Cincy on Ohio BMW FB page sold me the pieces. The BAD (but made good ) - I did overfill the coolant system last May, overheated the engine, and cracked the aluminum head. Found a good used head, NAPA totally rebuilt it with a 3-angle valve job, all new brass valve guides, and top end was totally rebuilt with new gaskets. Small oil leak on the front cover, but can be fixed. Runs very strong. - Rear window has a crack. $130 on eBay for a new clear (or smoked) plastic window. ONLY REASON I'm looking to sell it: - With the 1978 Lincoln I didn't expect to buy this past November, I've embraced my inner-homie, 90s-rap-loving-inner child. I'm going to drop it on airbags this summer, and generally freshen it up while cruising. - I'm also buying a 2003 Civic EX from a friend for a cheap price, and I'll use that as my 4-cyl gas-sipping highway DD for work trips around Ohio. EDIT: Updates above. Also should mention that this thing is garaged 24/7 next to my CTS-V. If I take it to work, it sits in the Columbus Commons garage all day. The most sun it's seen in the past year is at CC&C.
  15. Damn...Ronnie's 240 gets around.
  16. I think this thread has gone from $6,000 '90s Ford F150 with a 351 to a $60,000 400+hp mall-crawler.
  17. Thanks, Gawker. I now feel sorry for some dude who was killed at a La Quinta Inn...crying on all fours with his shorts down. http://gawker.com/please-dont-shoot-me-man-begged-before-cop-shot-and-1767973196
  18. No, the guys are right: you're responses are just too long. :gabe: I think the better measure of your intelligence would be to somehow funnel your stream-of-consciousness responses down to 2-3 sentences, proofread to verify your thoughts are sufficiently communicated, and THEN make a post.
  19. Are you thinking of the 454 SS from 1990s, or the more modern SS truck from a few years ago?

  21. I got nailed by "Hotel Papa" (Highway Patrol Cessna) on I-71 by Sunbury. Nothing to add except I just paid the fee.
  22. I've used the same CPA for over 10 years, but honestly this is a really tough time to try and get someone to start and finish your taxes by 4/15/16 without filing an extension. Think about it this way also: if the tax service costs $500 but they take you legally from owing $6k to getting a $4k refund, isn't that worth the cost?
  23. Had a nearly identical convo with my dental hygienist this morning. She coaches some travelling girls' basketball team in Marion or wherever the heck she is an hour north of Columbus - - - same. exact. thing: She loves the sport and was asked to coach after doing some club coaching locally for a few years after college. She's very bubbly and you'd think nothing could keep her down, but shes wrapping up the winter season and says this was the first and last year she'll do this. Parents pay way too much to travel around the state for mediocre ball with other "travelling teams", and complain to the coaches ALL THE TIME. Holy shizz...people know I'm not a sports guy but eff that noise as my kids get older. You can't tell me that my kids won't have a satisfying sports experience through school or Parks & Rec. I'm already paying for it through taxes; that's the first avenue I'm going.
