  1. Honestly, you can't talk about the D without an "8-Mile" reference. Was Mary Barra worth the hype???
  2. Yes. Did it myself with a Sachs kit @ 105k miles. Aaron helped!
  3. Doc, will there be an - *ahem* - area for RWD winter-weather-maneuver-recovery practice?
  4. EDIT: I will likely be moving the car down to FL instead of selling it. If I don't by March, I'll put it back up for sale. Thanks for the interest, everyone! Gauging intadest in selling, as I'll likely be picking up a car in the next couple of months. 2000 VW Passat GLX - 175k one-owner miles. 2.8L 30valve V6, 5-speed manual, every option that year except for CD changer in the trunk (it's 2014…LOL @ CDs, amirite?) Wife bought it from MAG in May of 2000 after graduating college. GOOD: - Sunroof, heated leather seats, Monsoon stereo, PW/PL A/C in great shape. - Awesome highway cruiser. Easily do 85+ and it just hums along. - Timing belt/water pump/thermostat done by Sean @ Northend Wrench last summer. Less than 5k miles since then. - Newer Milestar tires from Derek @ TireDiscounters. Less than 6k miles on them. - Gently modded: K&N air filter, Eibach springs/Bilstein shocks, 18" wheels and tires, tint. BAD: - Leather is cracked in backseat. Comes with a full LeatherSeats.com interior package to reupholster the entire car. - Rust starting to show around drivers' rear wheel well. - Was rear-ended when it was only 4 months old (09/2000, not even 3k on the odometer). That was over 172k miles ago. Needless to say, no issues. - Heater core is plugged up. Car is pretty chilly in winter. Needs a core back flush per PassatWorld recommendations (common problem on older B5 Passats). - Some dings, paint cracks on back bumper, but overall the car still takes a shine pretty well. - Coolant leak in radiator, some oil leaks repaired but still a drop somewhere on occasion. This is a surprisingly big car on the inside and trunk that's great for any parent with a couple young kids. Holds even rear-facing car seats easily while roomy in front for 6' adults. Looking for $1800, as CarMax will offer me just a few hundred under that. I'll clean the car and get some pics once it gets warmer.
  5. Jones drove up to CC&C this morning….. Nicest ALTIMA SE-R I've ever seen. Srsly, I've never poked around the GT-R…fugging amazing car. Looking forward to a ride sometime soon!
  6. Daughter is going to be doing this for Indian Princesses…kits are being distributed next month. First time I'll be touching a Pinewood Derby kit in 20+ years. Any other ideas, please feel free to share them. Is the "3-wheel contact" idea like the bacon car Randy posted above? Is that legal? OP, congrats on your son's win!
  7. $100. After this week I'll donate it. Bumpage for new price.
  8. Great to hear, Wags! Remember....we knew you way back when!
  9. The GT-R is one of the greatest cars and imma let you finish, but... Could you stop calling it Godzilla?
  10. HERE TO HELP OP, my apologies. GL w/search.

  12. That thing looks the business, man.:thumbup:
  13. Eli, I'm out of town on Fri/Sat but would be down otherwise.
  14. Sad to hear for sure. It's time for a miracle...
  15. Props to Jones for saying that a GT-R is on his horizon, and then acting on it within 18 months.
  16. I voted for a 6-speed swap…but after seeing Nickye's post I agree 100%.
  17. Let's take the DB out of the scenario. All we're doing this year, is reaching out to the community more than we did in the last 5 years. Nothing changes about Cup O'Joe on Saturday mornings, and that's a good thing because it works for everyone. If that's all anyone did is come by Saturday mornings, it'll be like nothing's different except for a bigger and more diverse group of car enthusiasts, which has always been our goal from the beginning. If the upside is everyone gets a free doughnut or cup of coffee on the occasional Saturday morning, then I'd hope people take that as a nice "plus" to attending something they were going to do anyway. I'm simply making an effort to integrate more car groups onboard to CC&C. If Saturday mornings start getting wierd (aside from videos!) let me know. We won't know if this works until we try. BELIEVE ME, I want nothing more than a largely autonomous program that needs nothing to grow and strive. This might be that year, because we have grown so much. We'll see!
  18. I agree. I'm taking the next couple of months to talk to people and line up events that they are doing, or want to work with us to do together. Big thing is to start thinking now about how you can help promote the group. Who do you know that's a car guy/girl? What auto forums can you plug into to spread the word once we make new plans outside of our Saturday mornings? Get to thinking, and let me know what ideas you all have...
  19. OK, OK...fair enough. To clarify, our core group - and foundation - is the Saturday morning meets, where people can "come as they are" and enjoy a great atmosphere. I may bend the rules slightly this year by allowing "sponsors" like IPS or Studio 47 bring some cars down to Cup O'Joe, but with the intention of free coffee or doughnuts for attendees. You gotta problem with that??? Scotty, drives absolutely. Dinner events? Let's talk specifics. I don't know about Ella, for example...but a Friday-night-dinner-with-coupons-for-coffee-the-next-day with another sponsor would definitely be doable...and we can help promote that event. A Tesla open-house that we can promote is definitely in the cards. The big thing is opening our group to both new events, as well as getting "outsiders" (new peeps) to be welcomed on Saturday mornings at Cup O' Joe. New website will have a calendar, and I need to fill it...
  20. Bump and price drop. $2500.
  21. Damn, Wags…some nice pics there! That matte C5 Z06 looks killer. Bodystyle suits a flat paint/wrap really well.
  22. …except that possible benefit is negated by people driving around nervous as fuck that they'll get T-boned by a tow truck!
