I haven't golfed in over a year, but have an outing with a client this Friday! I need some practice! Anyone up for some range time? Beers afterwards??? I'm at work so I'm having trouble accessing range/course times and fees. My only stipulation is I can't make it before 7pm. Anyone interested please post suggested ranges. Hope to hear a couple of CR peeps on short notice!

Jerry Sienfeld & Chris Rock get coffee in a lambo
zeitgeist57 replied to TimTaylor751647545500's topic in Pics and Vids
+10. They are all well-edited, I love the conversations, and watching the close-ups of coffee-products being brewed makes my mouth water. I can almost smell the roasted beans. The Muira is a sexxxy car. Looks like the owner is a guy out of Cincinnati. $heeeeeit...if Jerry Seinfeld or Jay Leno wanted my Muira, I'd be honored! -
Am I crazy? Classic truck for my 16 year old?
zeitgeist57 replied to caseyctsv's topic in Passing Lane
FOR THE SAFETY WONKS: I don't disagree with the science or physics in a collision with new vs. old cars, but as a car guy and someone who was hit while riding my bicycle as a kid in Cleveland, I would feel that my child is safer on city streets in a $1000 car from the '60s/'70s than a $1000 bicycle. Sorry, greenies/hipsters... DISCUSS... -

Casey, if you have the room I would suggest getting something cheaper that needs work and make it a project for you and your daughter. Make sure it RUNS AND DRIVES, but aside from that most things on trucks these days are cheap and easy to either fix or replace. The experience that you are looking for will be more the process of making the truck hers/yours than just driving it... I look forward to the day that my kids will drive, and I will give them a cheap budget to purchase something with the support that we'll work on it together. I'll always have newer cars with ABS/Air bags, but having been a tinkerer since I was young I want my kids to experience the same "sweat equity" in adding value to something as important in their lives as transportation. Also, having had V8 trucks I would definitely suggest an inline-6 or just a small V8. No need to add any more power than is needed to get it down the road, and keep the economy as high as possible. I drove Cleetus to Cleveland and back, then Akron and back for work earlier this month, and in addition to not a single hiccup (honestly ran as smoothly as my Passat, though LOUDER ) I got 18+ MPG out of both tankfuls on mostly highway driving. -
Hey, Joe...sucks to hear the trouble you're going through. Hope things work out for the better! I can't see a route online...I'm assuming you're travelling along Highway 9? Great highway...super wide, and very easy to go fast and cut through some seriously uninhabited woodlands. Tough at night as you can't see animals on the highway until you're damn right up on them! Let me know if you travel south along Route 1. I've got a spot you can visit. Amazing scenery up in Maine...

63 furious HP, motivating 450lbs of ugly - my new bike!
zeitgeist57 replied to Ry_Trapp01647545522's topic in Passing Lane
AWESOME UPDATE!:thumbup: Amazing how much different the character of the bike changes with only a seat upgrade. Get rid of that rear chrome fender and you're 90% closer to the look of a cafe racer! (The other bit being 5% handlebars, 2.5% tank, and 2.5% suspension/stance ) -
I sourced the Jaguar and my FiL split the purchase price with me. We've been using it most of the time we're down there, but on occasion they are down at their condo at the same time it can get...confusing. Passat would just be a 2nd option. #poorpeopleproblems I know, but it would be really helpful if my wife is out in a meeting or taking the kids somewhere and I want to meet up with a friend or whatnot. Actually, I rather like driving the Jag! I really like that it's so long, with plenty of interior room and trunk space, yet low-slung and sleek looking. DAT AUTOMATIC :barf: DIS WEEKEND! Be back for CC&C on August 2nd.

Sounds like .gov management works the same as .biz management: "Work with the budget you have, not the budget you want." If the budget provides for xxxx pilots - regardless of whether that number is viable 1, 2, or 10 years down the road - you'll hire to that standard.

With all the rain we're having, I'm noticing some moisture coming through my basement walls. Never happened before... Does anyone on here do downspout/drainage work? Recommend any specialists? My house was built in 1961 so I wouldn't be surprised if I had more than on "belly" in my yard from shifted/collapsed downspouts to the storm sewers. Thanks!

Not really, because I didn't plan on driving the BMW much in the winter anyway. That's what Cleetus and my Odyssey are for. $heeeeeeit...I drive Cleetus in the snow anyway! When I had the Corvette, I DD'd that bish in the winter. CHIGGIDY CZECH YO'SELF, TOM... Wife wanted to keep the Passat up in Columbus. #IveGotNoProblemWithThat. I like the fact that I'll still be able to keep the miles/salt off the BMW in the wintertime.
-
Yup. Once we can move back into my house, the BMW will get the Passat's garage slot. Sorry, Passat...Cleetus has some space next to him on the driveway...:masturboy:

Hola, chicas... So, I've been a patient boy and the time is coming up! My wife and kids are down in Naples, and the wifey has been driving it. She grew up with a e30 325 so the stick and driving is very familiar to her. She really likes it...and for you committed guys you know that's a big plus! However, two things have come up: 1) Originally, my wife and kids were going to come home with me from Naples when I go down to pick up the car. Pragmatic thinking has prevailed; she and the keeds are flying back now. Looks like I'll be making the 15-hour return trip from Naples to C'bus meself :fa: 2) I had Sean (Crossle) fix up the Passat - new TB/waterpump/etc - because it was going to be "retired" to our condo: I would drive it down this weekend and then drive the 318 back. Welp, the wifey is now questioning how effective the Bimmer is going to be in the wintertime, so for this year I'm keeping the Passat in OH as my winter beater and I'll fly down one-way. I'm actually very happy with this agreement as it'll keep the BMW much cleaner, and if we want to take the Passat to FL permanently I can always do that next year. Will provide updates when I get the car!

Thanks for the pics. I knew some family friends that participated. Haven't gone yet.

Good luck. Sean (Crossle on here) has been a wealth of info on VAG cars and does great work, but if she's having this many issues to begin with she's got an uphill battle ahead of her. Talk to Sean. Don't waste your time trying to self-diagnose VAG problems.

Thanks to CR, Ryan above let me borrow his deep socket. The bolt is 4" LONG to the nut! Ryan's socket wasn't deep enough. I had a friend over and we torched the nut with a blue torch. Then, I have these foot-long Craftsman combo wrenches...had at least 2 ft of leverage and one pushing/one pulling and we couldn't break it free. Oh yes...and a massive amount of PB Blaster. Looking for 6" deep sockets next. I'm hoping some more torching and full impact-gun hammering will break it free.

Make sure you get good and drunk/high. Then....watch this movie...
-
Thanks! You've got PM Since wifey/kids are still in FL, I saw F&F6 at Carriage Place. $2.50...what can go wrong? Honestly, I was entertained and the fight/action scenes were better than I expected. 7/10.

Advance Auto had a 1/2" socket that was $9, and will snap off with 50lbft of torks. Sears is closed for the evening. I'm impatient. Given no help, I will purchase said socket tomorrow morning. Time to watch a movie...
