  1. A DAY THAT WILL LIVE IN INFAMY
  2. If this was 2004, I'd put 20% down on 2-3 houses and rent them out.
  3. Subscribed to this thread. I'm good as a shadetree mechanic, but turrible as a techie. Looking forward to giving my kids a chance at a more tech-savvy future.
  4. I'm sure of it. The piping may be aluminized, and not mandrel-bent, but at least they will give you a no-bones price quote for you to figure out what to do. Mad Hatter Muffler on Sullivant Ave FTW http://www.yelp.com/biz/mad-hatter-columbus
  5. TECH INSPECTOR: Where's your chute? BURT MUNRO: I don't plan on bailing out!
  6. AUGH FRONT PL8!!!! Great pics as always...
  7. Well... It IS an automatic
  8. Kyle, quite frankly I didn't want to get a bunch of shite from CR about the purchase  I found the car and split the cost with my FiL, who also has a condo in Naples. This is strictly a rental-car replacement, and I hope to get some trouble-free miles out of it to justify the buy!
  9. Mind sharing what Bob's offering was?
  10. Thanks, guys. That's what I thought as well, but wanted others to chime in. Good ol' windshield sunscreen FTW!
  11. I picked up a '99 Jaguar XJ8L to keep in FL, and it spends most of the time in an open lot near the Ft. Myers airport. It's in great shape and I'd like to keep it looking as good as I can. http://www.columbusracing.com/forums/picture.php?albumid=693&pictureid=6994 Any sites recommended for great car covers? This will be in a high-UV environment, so I'd like to protect from rain, wind/dust, and intense sunlight outdoors. Thanks!
  12. Big-ups to Derek for hooking my Passat up with a great set of tires for cheap. Cody is a wiz on the Hunter alignment rack, and he let me hang out and watch him work. I took my cars to Derek at NTB downtown, and I'm very happy I can get tires through him on E. Broad but get rotations on the new store @ Bethel Road, closer to my house. The old ones were so turrible, I'm amazed I lived with them for so long. Can't fault Derek's NTB days...I put 35k miles on some Chinese tires without ever getting them rotated!!! With TireDiscounters' lifetime alignment/rotation, you can be sure I'm going to stay on schedule with the Passat now. Thanks again for continued great service!!!
  13. Big thanks to Jeff, Erickekeke and the guys up at IPS for smacking some tires on my wifes Odyssey. First time to the shop and it was awesome. Tire job was done promptly and everyone was great to work with. What's even better was the cabin filter got replaced. Not a big deal, you say? Well, considering the van has nearly 52xxx miles on it AND ROUSH HONDA NEVER FUCKING NOTICED IT (despite the $$$extended service contract$$$ I had with them)....yes, I would consider the extra service check a very good thing! Thank you for going above and beyond, Jeff!:thumbup:
  14. http://jalopnik.com/2014-jeep-cherokee-this-is-it-335476306 At first, I was all... pppppppffffffffffBWAHAHAHAH!!1!1 ...but then after looking at the side profile and not being TOTALLY offended, I appreciate the Volvo XC90, Nissan Juke, not-a-two-box-50-year-old-architecture design. If you're a purist, I recommend picking THIS up quickly! http://www.jackmaxton.com/details.cfm?searchvkid=1397560&v=0.317213558687&cftoken=4d28c486a49e7a22-0280A551-E901-1CFF-5336C80772CF1D7E&cfid=40242507
  15. LOL WHO WRITES LETTERS ANYMORE AMIRITE?!? ***BRRRRRIIIINGGG*** Hello? Yes he's here...I'll go get him... ANONYMOUS!!! It's 1987 on the line for you!
  16. Maybe things have changed since I bought my FL condo in 2008, but Homeowners insurance for a small, older house in Naples, FL (Collier County) would've been more than $6500 a year!!! If they are still underwriting policies, they certainly aren't pricing them reasonably. Understandably so with the hurricane activity these days.
  17. This man has the right idea. :fuckyeah: Ermahgerd BHERMP!!
  18. what sort of living arrangement do you want to have? Rent/buy? Condo, house? Single guy? GF/wife....kids??? Cheapest and easiest lifestyle is to rent or buy a condo in a mid-rise (less than 8 stories). HOA fees will cover property insurance, since many major insurance providers don't even underwrite homeowner's insurance policies now if you're within 5-miles of the Gulf. Understandably, low-maintenance living comes at a sacrifice of storage space...which is why you may need to get a storage unit. If you rent/buy a house, landscaping and home repair is expensive and a pain in the ass. You won't want to mow a lawn when it's 95* and 100% humidity for months on end. Plus, most of the lawns need a sprinkler system, and your water bill will be ridic. All that being said I agree that Clearwater is the nicer community south of the area. However, check out Edison College/St. Pete Beach area. Nice, older condo communities you could live in and be right next to the water. I highly encourage you to BE AS CLOSE TO THE GULF AS POSSIBLE, because FL is not as nice if you're further inland...and as mentioned you simply won't go to the beach as often. I knew people in Naples that went YEARS without going to the beach...boggled my mind since you can't drive west without eventually going into the Gulf... Let us know what's up down there for you!
  19. They look like these, but not shiny and peeling orange paint where the black accents are. 15x7 and 15x8.5. http://i.ebayimg.com/t/15x10-15x8-5-Western-Cyclone-II-Turbine-Mag-Wheels-Rims-5x4-5-Ford-Dodge-Mopar-/00/s/MTM2M1gxNjAw/z/1ToAAMXQ8OdRI8rw/$(KGrHqZ,!hoFEQ07q3KTBRI8rvqhyw~~60_12.JPG
  20. I just picked up a "70's Special" set of Rocket wheels. These are the "Dukes of Hazzard"-style turbine wheels that were on the General Lee, and I plan on putting them on Cleetus. They had a cracked and falling-apart old orange paint job on them, and are really dirty. For as big and bulky as the wheels are they are amazingly light. Anyway to identify what metal they are made out of? From there, any good ways to get them shiny without damaging the metal? I'll post up pics later. Thanks!
  21. Northend Wrench on Indianola north of Cooke. Sean (Crossle) is an ASE-cert'd mechanic and they did a great job with my stalled Passat at a great price.
  22. Drink plenty of water too...statistics show that most of our hunger pains between meals can be relieved by drinking water. For a guy your size, AT LEAST 64oz a day. I have a 32oz plastic cup that I fill nearly every night with water and kill it while watching a movie before going to bed. Keeps me from snacking after 10pm.
