OG CR members remember the Fast&Furious days back at Kroger on East Broad...half of the large crowd was there to sit the evening out, and the other half ran around Reynoldsburg/Blacklick looking for races. It was the total opposite side of town of me so I sympathize with you guys.

Love the blue color, already LOWERED, on 20" Monoblocks. Tig-ol-bitties. It is a fat pig, but I've always loved the idea of a V12 2-door hardtop. If you can't buy a stick-shift, big-body Mercedes, then you might as well just get the biggest frikkin' engine you can in one and call it a day.

One of my coworkers is moving from Cincy to Columbus...her husband is a truck driver for UPS or FedEx out of West Jefferson, and she will be working by my office downtown. Their 3 kids are all graduated from high school, so schools don't matter. They would like some land; so much as they "don't want to be living on top of their neighbors" like they were in Cincinnati. They are focusing on the SW area, since it's a good middle spot between their jobs. I'm not sure of their budget, but I would guess it's around $150k... Any suggestions? I like LT1Rick's house by Thorn Apple GC, so I recommended they look at Galloway, as well as some of the areas south of Plain City down to I-70. TIA, CR.

Well, it sold quickly. But...what about THIS MONSTER?!? http://www.mercedesexpert.com/inventory/view/5291638/1994-Mercedes-Benz-S600 1) Gut the exhaust - let the V12 pipe its' heart out. 2) Get a CR detailer to clean up the outside. 3) Roll down all 4 windows. 4) Kill da haters.

Meh...tore up the coupon and bought Raising Cane's instead. I'll just give the chick $2.00. Be more than what BW3 donates off of my meal.

You won't need to push start a truck anymore, I promise.

On a serious note, that rollcage looks absolutely ridiculous. What's the point of an open top if you crank your head on 3-4 pipes getting in and out of the gaddamn thing?

Would love help, but I've still got some work to do...the holes left from the mirrors in the doors, old fender emblem holes need to be Bondo'ed. Probably not going to get around to paint for a couple of weeks. I went on DipYourCar.com...looks like I'll need 4 gallons of sprayable (pre-mixed) Plasti Dip for the body???
-
I've got a coupon for Buffalo Wild Wings...no discount, but 10% of our tab goes to http://www.princessmaggie.com. I have no clue where the Dublin BW3 is, but if anyone is interested in going, post here. The Good Lord knows I can put a hurting on BW3. YOYO for your tab, cheapskates.

FARK CHEEP PARTS Some of you saw that Cleetus didn't start back up at Cars and Coffee on Saturday. I ended up needing a push start from the Farkii and a few other peeps (thanks BTW!!!). Pissed, I ripped the Duralast starter and the fried starter solenoid and went to Advance for another solenoid (lifetime replacement warranty FTW). While I was at Advance, I asked them to test the starter motor. I bought it at AutoZone only because I had a GC. The Motorcraft starter in the truck was fine when I pulled it, but I figure new engine rebuild, new starter motor AMIRITE??? The dood at Advance tests the starter...TURRIBLE GRINDING NOISE, NO PLUNGER ACTION, NO GEAR TURNING. I had a kitten! Can't believe that a 2 month old Duralast starter already went bad!!! Guy proceeds to tell me that I was the 2nd Ford guy that day (F350 earlier) that had problems with almost-new Duralast starters. I mean, I admit it was a scorcher on Saturday, but that was too much. Go home with new Starter solenoid, grab old starter out of box in garage and bolt it in. Not only did the engine immediately fire up, but the IGNITION MISS WENT AWAY. I was flabbergasted...how could a bad circuit in the starter motor have affected the way the engine ran? I didn't change anything but the solenoid and starter; no rewiring anywhere else. All day Sunday and Monday, and the truck ran truly flawlessly. Carb could use a rebuild still, but it starts and runs like a champ. HAPPY CLAY IS HAPPY! Next step: Lowering and painting. :)

Since Friday @ Sawmill, I've toyed with the idea of "0FKSGVN" for Cleetus, but instead of "zero fucks given", it looks more like "Oh, Fucksgiving"

I've been looking myself...need to paint 4 wheels and 2 bumpers. Pm me if you need to order online...we can share the cost. Harbor freight and ace hardware are the only local stores I've found that carry plasti dip, not in white though...

Cars & Coffee 5/26/12 Memorial Day Weekend edition

I'll be there! Wait....this is wierd... -
I've given this topic a lot of thought in the past. Since I always have a cheap truck, I don't have to worry about what to haul stuff in. However, if I didn't have a truck I would.... ...buy a 4-door Jeep Wrangler and a cheap trailer. Or - better yet - I have a cool neighbor with a trailer that I could borrow! 4-door Jeep Wrangler: -seating for 5 -4-doors -Stick shift -All-weather traction -comfortable on the highway (A/C, cruise control) -Ability to tow -CONVERTIBLE for fun -eternally cool -Fun to drive  EDIT: Welp, except for the fuel economy!!!! C'MON, 2013/2014 JEEP WRANGLER DIESEL!!!

Dammit! I replaced the ICM (Ignition Control Module) and it's still doing the wierd startup thingy. I'm running out of things in the electrical system to replace! It runs well, but has this momentary and inconsistent miss...along with the startup hesitation until the buzzer goes off. I'll start looking at circuits for a short, or bad ground. Also, There are some fusible links by the starter solenoid that have been exposed to heat from cranking in the past that melted the insulation around the connectors. Can that affect the links? I know some capacitors and other electrical circuits can go bad from heat (instead of an electrical overload)...
