What did you do for your ride today? (v3.0)
zeitgeist57 replied to Not Brian's topic in Passing Lane
Got 255/45ZR18's for $52/ea shipped. Lionhart Tires - the finest that Thailand has to offer. -
Yeah, called Mr. Tire by my house...dude be like "TPMS sensors are $100/ea through me." I said "NOPE! I'll grab some through Amazon and give them to you guys." He was totally fine with that. Looks like I'll be boopity-beep-bopping the TPMS sensors myself. Shaun, you've got a message coming your way. You COULD say that, for a job I can do myself... (•_•) ( •_•)>⌐■-■ I'm TIREd of paying too much to have someone else do it. (⌐■_■) YYYYYYYEEEEEAAAAAAAAAAHHHHHHHHHHHH
-
Despite my cheap-ness, apparently TPMS sensors are needed on 1g CTS-V's to manage traction control and "Competitive Driving Mode", which I didn't even know I had. (50% yaw stability control to slide a lot more, and TC off). TPMS sensors are going with the new tires tomorrow. Getting her ready for CR Race Warz in May. :burn:

Vintage Air is definitely a game changer from what I’m reading...almost gets To a point where instead of getting an old, original car with AC that doesn’t work, you’re almost better off getting an older car without AC and just putting a vintage air system in it.

Political dumpster fire Part III Greg and Kerry Vs CR
zeitgeist57 replied to zeitgeist57's topic in Dumpster
I agree with this statement....it's part of the polarity on both sides. Brandon, I don't disagree with some of the things Trump has done (prison/work reform, tax reform, de-regulation...) but especially with the last two items - as well as a lot of other flat results or failures - the question I ask is he setting us on the right path for the future? As a banker, I've had numerous conversations with other staunch Republicans - business owners, executives - who will all concede that, while none of us voted for Obama, we all did well under his 8 years as well. I can also tell you from my experience that just pulling out the cash register drawer and seeing some money doesn't mean that everything is going great. Trump operates on simple, understandable concepts and unfortunately the world is far more complicated. I worry he's: 1) Acting too much in the moment, without regard for future implications. 2) Some of his global initiatives (tarriffs, sanctions) are misaligned and doing more medium- and long-term harm than good. Economic fact is, Trump inherited a "fixed" economy...he just pulled a few of the safety buffers to help the reaction keep going. https://www.npr.org/2018/09/12/646708799/fact-check-who-gets-credit-for-the-booming-u-s-economy -
Are there DIY systems to retrofit, assuming all the Freon has already been evacuated from the existing A/C system? Can I search online through some company for kits, or at least the components?

Apologies for missing the follow-up on this thread, Greg. I did use most of the exhaust Tom gave me for my old '82 F100, the '78 Lincoln, and even the BMW I just sold. I must've gotten rid of the leftover scraps I couldn't use (like the crossover). Glad Matt's helping you!

http://press.foxnews.com/2019/04/fox-news-channel-to-host-a-town-hall-with-2020-democratic-presidential-candidate-senator-bernie-sanders-on-monday-april-15th/?utm_source=newsletter&utm_medium=email&utm_campaign=newsletter_axiosam&stream=top Bernie's a front-runner at this point for the Dems. $28MM in the war chest raised already...that's a lot of bread to campaign on. From the daily news email I receive that had this link above: Sanders said Friday on "The Daily Show": "It is important to distinguish Fox News from the many millions of people who watch Fox News. "I think it is important to say to those people: You know what? I know that many of you voted for Donald Trump, but he lied to you." I've got two thoughts on the above and Bernie: 1) He's got a HUGE uphill battle on public perception. 2) I don't think many of Trump's supporters that stick with him because they want to be right about him as President...want to be reminded that he's lied to them on many occasions. Even if they realize this about Trump, they'll still stubbornly support him over a Democratic candidate (especially Bernie). https://www.politifact.com/personalities/donald-trump/statements/byruling/false/ -
I have a 6.6L Lincoln . straight-pipes make you realize MPG’s be damned...it’s great just trumpeting your awesomeness all over the place

Too soon, junior... https://www.autoblog.com/2019/04/05/2020-ford-mustang-entry-level-performance-model/ Granted, a “budget” Mustang is likely not going to be in the $Teens.

My 1979 Lincoln is running allll-riiiiiiiiiiight...but I'm not looking forward to 80+ degrees in a suit... Been awhile since this topic has come up, but does anyone recommend a shop to retrofit an old R-12 system (or get it back up to snuff, wink wink?) Noebull Automotive quoted me $250 for my last Lincoln a couple of years ago...may go that route unless someone suggests otherwise. Lucore??

I've had Sprint for 15+ years. The cell phone coverage can be garbage depending on where you are, but they have been very easy to work with and have given us unlimited everything (text, data, etc)...though I've had them since Nokia phones with the snake game on them. I'd rather stream movies and get texts, etc. Rather than worry about calling someone back while I pass Quaker City, OH on I-70. Many places where I've complained about cell service (like in a building) others with Verizon, T-Mobile have problems too.

Tow Hook Mount = $100. Can sell it later when no front plate is needed. Drilling into front bumper, THEN repairing drill holes = $200? No front plate, no care = Free 2 "No Front Plate" tickets in the next 13 months? = $90 :gabe: No front plate with the risk of a ticket is still cheaper than the mounting options (tow bracket or drilling bumper). Could you also zip-tie it to the grille?

It's an election cycle, not baseball: I'll pay more attention "in the Playoffs" as it were when the field is vetting out a few candidates to go against Trump. I do like Biden and Buttigieg <<<that dude is fascinating but I wonder if America is ready for an openly gay president. Also, rough last name, dude. The creepy Biden thing is odd but after Clinton and Trump, nothing surprises me anymore. -

Funny (not funny) how Trump can say something like "and they say..." before something incredibly stupid like "THE NOISE CAUSES CANCER", like that releases him from liability. Who is "they"? It wasn't his comment...he just was repeating what he thought he heard someone else say. -
Hit me up, greg. I've got some old Corvette Z06 exhaust from Tom, a welder and a chop saw. Depending on how pretty you want it, I might be able to help.
-
Heard it on NPR. Couldn't believe it either. - Sent from my iPhone while riding my 1979 Lincoln without a front plate

That area is blowing up from a development standpoint. Sorry you didn't get an extra $25k out of the deal, but congrats on a contingent-free, hopefully fast closing soon!
-
Did the A/C work?
-
Considering the new one is only 76”x76”, some of CR can only fit one at a time.

Allow me to show you what I ended up doing this past weekend... I let this thing get pretty gnarly, having not been used since 2013. Surprisingly, the water was crystal clear after 5 years...until I took a reciprocating saw to it. https://i.imgur.com/afm3ubY.jpg 1988? Time for a new one.

I do love the Gladiator, and appreciate that Jeep (FCA) finally greenlighted it's development....and kept some awesome options like the convertible and stick-shift. My problem with it (and possibly the Bronco) is that they are just too big. 218" for the Gladiator? That's 18+' in a 20'x24' garage with a workbench....15" longer than my minivan and that's as much vehicle as anyone should need.

Thanks, guys. He's a family friend and lives in New Albrony...I'll get dinner and a couple of beers out of him for the effort.

The guy I gave my LeBaron to last year has lost the title. Admittedly, he took the car and title and never signed it over to his name, and in his defense he hasn't taken it out until just recently when the weather broke. For as far as the BMV is concerned, I lost the title. Has anyone gone through this process? Looks like I just need to show up with valid ID at one of the title agency offices....
