  1. Doc, I’m installing a hitch on Cleetus as we speak. I won’t be able to haul a lot of weight, but if you need an 8 foot bed and a trailer-hauler let me know.
  2. Dude....this F-35 program is teh DUMB... https://www.bloomberg.com/news/articles/2019-04-22/lockheed-s-costly-f-35-to-be-billions-costlier-pentagon-finds Another $22 BILLION for a fighter that has yet to down an enemy plane???
  3. Maybe a roll of alumnium flashing, screwed/caulked to fill in the gaps?
  4. Awesome shots. That engine bay looks proper, with the routing of hoses and piping. Was watching Hoonigan over the weekend with an R154-swap into an auto JZX. Really cool cars.
  5. Wire mesh? Pressure washer? I've got a carport but thankfully the birds haven't figured out the protective ledge the C-beams create under the roofing. Will have to keep an eye on that though...
  6. If you have 2+ kids...Odyssey/Sienna. Everything else is a compromise. Expecting good handling or MPGs out of a kid hauler that’s not a minivan is lulzy.
  7. Having choices is maximum 'Murica! Glad you're happy with it. I've noticed there aren't any RAM supporters who want to speak up about rust issues... :gabe:
  8. +1. Me, nearly a month ago: The fact that people around him - like Don McGahn - had to protect the President from himself is what should make you laugh/cry/rage
  9. When did you own a Mustang? Own cheap tee-ruks = not disappointed in tee-ruk quality/reliability issues.
  10. Nothing that the media didn't already drip-drip to the public. What was confirmed speaks more to Trumps character and conduct, and the need for his loyal subjects to protect him from himself. Time to move on. There's no sense dragging out this drama anymore with an election season going into full swing next year.
  11. ^^^You indeed have the meats White-letter sidewalls out for Harambe.
  12. Jeep Purists: "It's got a rare tow package" = Frame rust. "Doesn't burn any oil" = flatbedded because it won't start. "It's easy to find parts" = Jeep-tax on simple wear items. "Make sure you get Chrysler OEM stuff" = $500 part to still make it unreliable. "Robust aftermarket" = $1600 steel bumper for mall-crawling. "The newer parts fit on the older bodies" = Pay $500 for used parts that are still rusty. "Goes fast enough on the highway" = Death wobble, cross-winds, tramlining. "Great off-road" = Bad MPGs, slow...still doesn't actually take it off road. "It's a convertible" = have a hardtop, never take it off. :gabe: As someone that's owned a '67 Jeepster Commando, and almost grabbed a couple of sub-$3k Wrangler YJs in my time...I'm definitely a fan of Jeeps, in a "Dirt Every Day" kind of way, not the post-Daimler/FCA $55k-for-a-Moab-that-you-don't-use-offroad-in-Ohio Jeep fans that roll around UA. You just have to recognize the issues you not only deal with when you buy it, but also the maintenance problems.
  13. Kerry has one...I’m sure he’ll chime in. RUST is the biggest problem, and while yes, everything can be repaired, at a certain point it ends up being some Jalopnik heap that costs way more to maintain. I saw Kerry’s on Saturday at CC&C and a lot of his windshield frame and door/body rusts have turned to holes... Also, stay away from the 4-cylinder models. Yes, they can go on the highway but they are hazardously slow. I like YJ’s as they were the Jeep of my childhood, but try to get a Southern/Western car that doesn’t have as much Midwestern rust. It’s worth the extra $$ and effort..
  14. Was disappointed that Gritty's Twitter feed didn't have more commentary on us soundly sweeping the Lightning
  15. LOL! Just saw this on Jalopnik... https://deadspin.com/what-the-hell-just-happened-to-the-lightning-1834104837
  16. Friend of mine in Chicago texted me: "How in the world did CBJ sweep Tampa?" It's a great feeling...and great for the City as well! Go Jackets!!!
  17. Cadillac - Slapped some new tires on the CTS-V. Also swapped out Dexron VI in the trans and some Amsoil with GM limited-slip diff additive in the diff...drives amazingly. 129k miles and she was in need of some lovin'. Shifter - as is many 1g CTS-V - is worn-out garbage. Need to pull the console and see what's going on down there. May need to buy a Hurst... Lincoln - there was a zip-tie on the coolant block-off valve going to the heater box when I bought it. I didn't ask the previous owners about it. Uh oh...could it be a leaky heater core? Clipped the zip-tie and drove it this morning. Thankfully, plenty of hot air and no leaky coolant. Actually, TOO MUCH hot air. There's something wrong with the climate controls so it's on all heat, all of the time. Will need to fix that before I try to fix the A/C. Additional HVAC weirdness: When I turn on the fan (any speed setting), it blows great in "hi-lo", "economy", "defrost"....but when I set it to "heat", the fan totally stops. Switch it back to another setting and it instantly comes back on to the switched speed. Never seen that before. Silverado - still have snow tires on it. Need to put on the 2/4 drop and get it aligned before I put the HRE's back on it.
  18. The only thing I'm going to do is clean my rear view mirrors and back windshield...so I can get a GOOOOOOD LOOK at some overhyped 528i as he takes First Loser Place.
  19. Two Caterers (or whatever they're going to be named) makes some amazing food. The problem is it's more tapas-style...not sure if you're going for a big buffet. Awesome venue. I'm guessing you're going to be upstairs?
  20. https://jalopnik.com/craigslist-will-soon-start-charging-5-to-list-a-car-fo-1833999592 Given how bad CL has gotten in recent months, I applaud this move. That which is free is not necessarily valuable. I hope the small fee knocks a lot of fakers off to Facebook. It's not like they have a ton of revenue that they risk losing if there's a reduction in posters.
  21. There's a LOT going on with the exterior detailing, but it looks pretty clean. I'm very interested in the dimensions: I'm staring at that woman's head trying to get an idea of perspective...those doors look like they bow outward a good amount. The front end is looking very LaFerrari-ish. I've seen the rear shots as well and the only thing I'm not liking is the exhaust tips, and the rear wheels. They almost look too flat...should carry some dish to them, I hope. Actually, those wheels in general look like something I can buy 4 of for $499 shipped on eBay. Overall though, I think it looks awesome. If it's anything less than $100k base with a stick it will definitely be a new dream car of mine. The nose looks big too...would be great to have some decent, Tesla-level boot storage for weekend trips.
  22. WDYDFYRT v4.0 thread is off to a rough start
  23. You guys with ponds - I take it you just catch and release? Anything worth eating? It's 11:45am and this thread is making me hungry.
  24. That's a horrifying story about the blown turbos. Good on ya for turning lemons into lemonade!
  25. 100% tell them to cover that cost or you throw away the offer. You haven't signed anything (letter of intent) yet, correct?
