2006 Honda Civic Hybrid for sale. Only 120k miles clean title

TIL: Infiniti makes their jellybean G/M/Q (i can't tell them apart) midsize sedan with the 5.6L V8. Mike, maybe you should get a cheap car to get you around before committing on a financed ride for the long term. I love my Lincolns, and they've been $2k-or-less boats that cost nothing to fix and maintain. Maybe get an old pickup truck? Something useful that you could even keep when you do get the next "dream car"?

I’m coming to do two things: - Eat BBQ - Dispatch E39 M5’s :gabe:

Appreciate the references...I should've said I don't REMEMBER ever seeing that before.

Yes, that's actually a solidly valuable Mark III. Those have the pre-smog 460ci and really, really great build quality. Curious what they would want for that. Anyone else wonder how old Dennis Gage actually is? Dude hasn't aged a day past 64 for the last 20 years. It is a really cool experience. I will say I have the white leather interior and I miss the cloth seats on my '78. I highly recommend a garage or carport to keep the weather off the landau/carriage roof...common rust area. -
https://www.autoblog.com/2019/03/14/chevy-corvette-c8-midengine-spy-shots-broken-down/ I've never seen that...a camo'd test mule breaking down in public. That's not a good sign. I mean, even if something cracked or it was in limp-mode I'd be like "ABORT! ABORT! Back to the garage!" Something serious must've happened if it's stalled at a gas pump. Also, LOL at pixelating that woman's face as she's checking the battery terminals, only to have them NOT-pixelated in later shots when the tow truck is there.

I love Scott's critical view of GM products. Someone in UA asks me what I think about the GMC Acadia...I say that I have it on good authority you don't want to be holding the note on any of GM's Lambda stablemates after 100k miles. Then I channel my inner Cordell and bitch about transmissions, brakes, wheel bearings... Usually it's more technical than they were expecting to hear.

Both Mark V's I've bought have been lowball offers that the sellers accepted. This green '79 I saw on CL (through AutoTempest) since the fall and hit him up in January after months of seeing it keep popping up. It started at $5k, then down to $3500 in January on CL and he accepted my offer for $2k. There honestly is not much of a market for these land yachts...if you get one, buy it cheap and plan on not needing to sell it. It's a hell of a car...they are simple/cheap to fix and great lookers on the road when they're clean. -
Silly Derek...you underestimate the ability of CR to argument over ANY topic

No shit! I thought the turbos were auto-only. First up on Autotempest: https://turbo.cars.com/vdp/765517490?partnerlf=bottom&aff=turbotrp29 I don’t know how well it would autocross...

Hasn’t GM been making space frames since Saturn in the late ‘80s? Hasn’t the C5 Corvette been hydroformed frame rails since late ‘90s? Saul Goodman. They’ll figure it out.

I was surprised how horrible changing belts on a 6.0L CTS-V was. If there’s any reliability to the powertrain, I’m sure it won’t be as bad as mid-engines exotics that needed engine-out maintenance every 15k-30k miles

I’d be surprised if a bank will finance an early-mid ‘00s vehicle - at a good rate - now that it’s 2019...

+1. Grew up in Shaker Heights, lost interest in the Browns when Art Modell moved the team. I appreciated the shot in the arm that LeBron was for the City...hoping the Browns pick up the mantle as well. Love dem Indians!

I've seen the LaFerrari and 918 numerous times. Brandon's got a good one; I don't remember if I've ever seen a Bugatti in person... Two things in Naples comes to mind: - Ferrari's on Fifth - annual Italian get-together in downtown Naples that has some amazing cars on display - Naples Motorsports - https://www.naplesmotorsports.com/exotic-cars-naples-fl - these guys do periodic (monthly?) Cars&Coffee events with an open house. I've never seen so much amazing metal/carbon fiber in one building. Depending on their inventory it's gotta be one of the singular locations you can just walk into for free and see some serious halo cars. Props to them for being very open to the public.

....and received billions in discounted shipping services through USPS. I get that bidness is bidness, and Amazon was a nice boost to USPS infrastructure...but they should've shut down that benefit a few years ago. -
I 100% agree with Chris here. It's funny how my 20-yo self wanted to skirt emissions testing because I thought running without cats is cool, but especially the last couple of years I've "matured" (gotten older) in my thinking and a $200 PCM tune will make my car run far better than lopping off cats and calling it a day. Now, the holes in my '79 Lincoln's cats? PO did it...I don't know how those got there. However, to Chris' point, historical tags FTW. I'm not driving the old cars more than 3k miles a year anyway.

Looking to buy a Hemi WK, or Hemi XK, does anyone have any input?
zeitgeist57 replied to Stampede's topic in Passing Lane
I wouldn't buy a 10+year old Jeep that's not a Wrangler or Grand Cherokee for more than $5k: You'll alleviate rust damage by getting a Southern truck, but then you'll get clear-coat damage and a cheap plastic interior that doesn't age well. Bring it back up here and it'll start rusting again. I want to love FCA products - the initial marketing and packaging is great - but aside from a few of their cars the rest are throwaways. -
Last month, I attended an Ohio Bankers League luncheon at the Convention Center. Lt. Gov Jon Husted had a mini "State of the State" address for the group. He was one of the blandest, uninspiring speakers to listen to. I almost fell asleep, hearing him unconvincingly tell probably 200+ old white guys from various small banks around the state how we would be "the next innovation center" blah blah blah. However, I almost fell out of my seat when he went on to describe the architecture and reasoning for DeWine's 18c/gal gas tax: It was the prior administrations' fault for passing highway bonds that gave Ohio $billions for road infrastructure, which we're going to burn through by July of this year, but we'll be paying interest on until 2048... Wait, Jon...isn't that YOUR party? Weren't you a part of that problem? I couldn't believe part of his sales pitch for the gas tax is that the GOP flubbed on a bond they convinced voters to approve....and then they come back not 3-4 years later and ask for a new use-tax. Granted, the money need from the gas tax is likely legit - I think we all greatly underestimate the crumbling roads/bridges/tunnels around our state and country - but I'm still flabbergasted by his pitch.

Political dumpster fire Part III Greg and Kerry Vs CR
zeitgeist57 replied to zeitgeist57's topic in Dumpster
To clarify: I appreciate any politician trying to right a societal wrong through legislation and regulation: that’s what they are supposed to do while maintaining representation to their constituents. However, something like $1MM-per-gun-death is a little unrealistic, when there are far greater issues (like the opioid epidemic) that need the attention NOW.
