Grant, keep it simple from an engineering standpoint: Two-Doors: 1) C5 or F-Body (LS engine) 2) New-Edge Mustang (Great RWD platform with a huge aftermarket) 3) 350Z (VQ engine rocks) I would also consider a G35/G37 coupe or sedan, but sticks will be rare and pricey. From my experience driving both stick and automatic 350Z's I have to say that is one chassis that really doesn't lose much in the automatic over the stick. (shocking, I know)

Tom I have one of those low-pro HF jacks, and I was able to get under the Lincoln's crossmember when it was fully aired down. I can get under the rear diff on the BMW without driving it up on ramps or wood boards...that really impressed me. It has the deepest and lowest reach of any jack I've owned before (including a $180 aluminum "racing" jack from Craftsman). Awesome jack, especially for the price.

Wow, these have gotten CHEAP. That's a 7-year old car with a 250k-mile EcoBoost for JD Byrider money! GLWS!

JP, I love your attitude. Probably shouldn't tell you that as you don't need to get anymore emboldened in what you're doing. Great vid. Great press! Have fun and be safe with that li'l beastie! You'd fit right in on an episode of Hoonigan... -
Sorry I wasn’t able to help in person. You guys rock for helping another CR brother out!

CR Techies - beat an Apple MacBook for the price!
zeitgeist57 replied to zeitgeist57's topic in Dumpster
The big thing - to repeat for emphasis, not knocking other tech in offerings like Chromebook - is numerous recommendations she received from other lawyers and the firm's IT recommendations to get a Macbook. It was definitely pricier, but seemed like the easy way to upgrade. -
CR Techies - beat an Apple MacBook for the price!

Hey, gaiz! No worries because she bought a Macbook that costs more than my last two vehicle purchases!!!1!1 http://gifimage.net/wp-content/uploads/2017/11/gun-in-mouth-gif-10.gif In all seriousness, I greatly appreciate the feedback. Mike - a huge thanks for reaching out with such pertinent information and willingness to get involved. In the end, we discussed options and the obvious point, made in this thread before by a few folks, was that: 1) Most firm partners use Macs, so it's not only compliant with firm IT but definitely encouraged. 2) The malware/virus concerns are largely eliminated with Mac vs Windows. 3) We do have other Apple products that have been very robust and easy to use. The thought that a 10-year old Macbook will still be in use appeals to her and I. She ordered online to get some $100 discount and no taxes, so should be here soon. Thanks again to CR for it's wealth of wisdom and experience. -
My wife just got a jerb with a law firm here in town. She wants to upgrade her POS Samsung laptop with a MacBook Pro Air MAGA 5G LTE OMG BBQ edition, and I argue that she's not doing graphic design or video editing or gaming-on-the-go so she doesn't need a fucking MacBook! Please help me!!! Need a new-tech, easy-to-use laptop that's going to functionally work better than a new MacBook. She's doing contract reviews/amendments and documentary work so it's more data storage, internet speed/processing. Bells and whistles for cheaper than Apple. GO!!!

When I worked NYC for a couple of banks, I really enjoyed The Muse by Times Square. It's a Kimpton chain hotel that had very reasonable rates (around $200-250/night), and a free wine happy-hour from 5-6pm every day...was a great way to unwind and get a couple of rounds in you before hitting the town and will save on drinks from a budget standpoint if that's part of your cost. You mentioned a car - I'm assuming for a long weekend you weren't planning on driving out to NYC and back? Take a flight to LaGuardia and it's relatively easy to get around on the MTA. I've even taken a city bus before and it's slower but just as easy. Unless you need to travel upstate, Connecticut, Long Island or into NJ/PA it really doesn't make sense to rent a car...the subway is fast and I argue part of the experience of seeing the City. I haven't been to SoL since the '90s, but Central Park, Times Square, and the 9/11 Memorial are all very impressive. All easy access from trains/subways. Map out your trip before you go and know what routes to take but you'll find no faster way to get where you need to go. You'll be walking a lot but I find that keeps your energy levels high.

Dude! On the top end too!!! Well done on the save

Wow.

Good to hear from you man! That Wrangler sounds badass. The deal fell through on the '95, guys. The woman I was trying to meet was not responsive to calls and texts all last week. I wasn't surprised then, when I asked if she was available on Sunday (her request) for me to finally check out the Jeep, that she casually dropped the "Sorry, it sold yesterday" text. I was being strung along. :fuuuu: Thanks to everyone for their help! The search keeps on...

My 2007 CTS-V is making a stinky burning-gear-lube out of the rearend after it’s been driven, like diff fluid is leaking on the exhaust. Just saw 3 drops of fluid where the car was sitting. Haven’t gotten it up in the air yet, but Googled and found a TSB for a leaky diff vent issue. https://ls1tech.com/forums/attachments/cadillac-cts-v-2004-2007-gen-i/348664d1333919205-rear-diff-vent-instructions-pictures-tsbdiferentialvent_.pdf Is there any way to validate whether my car was affected by this, or if I can still have the repair done? EDIT: I guess I’m not sure the difference between a recall and a TSB...

My teeruk is solid, but surface rust is showing up on my lines - both fuel and brakes. 79k miles on a 2001 and it looks like a matter of time over mileage before one goes pop.

....but at least it's not burning through $8MM a year. :gabe::gabe: https://jalopnik.com/remember-drivetribe-it-burned-through-16-million-in-t-1828631421

My friend's wife wants to secretly buy him an XJ Cherokee for his birthday, as he's not a gearhead but he loves Jeeps (85 CJ, 2014 Grand Cherokee) and the XJ is a "dream car" of his. She's hitting up AutoTrader and finding a couple of '99-'01s nearby for around $5-6k. Anyone have a streetable XJ or know of one for sale? This would not be modded or off-roaded. Thank you!

Chad, can you share a link for the $90 fuel lines? https://www.summitracing.com/parts/rnb-919-814 Looking up 4.3L V6 Silverado fuel systems I’m finding cheap brake line kits in Stainless Steel, but the fuel line kit is $200+

I’ve been wasting my time this past week with a woman out in Caroll/Lancaster area about a jeep wrangler that she ended up selling out from under me. It’s a tough game trying to find a good used cheap trucks. I like the updates! Tinted windows would definitely be a cool upgrade...definitely look into that.

I have. They are borderline dangerous on the highway, barely holding 70mph and getting tossed in the crosswind of passing semis. But....this thing would genuinely stay on surface streets around our suburbs. No DD duties expected. Price is cheap.

The thing that's making me want wheels/tires is the number of JK take-offs available for the price of a set of new 15" tires. Even with a YJ to JK adapter, the price is cheap. https://columbus.craigslist.org/wto/d/2014-jeep-wrangler-tires-5/6656235024.html Great tips otherwise!
