Can't wait! Practicing the double tap now...

Sold to jwalter. Great guy to work with. Lock it up mods.
-
Great gun. Good price. Is that the compact? Wish I had the cash. I'll let some people know. GLWS.

Pics coming Wednes since dad and I are both off. I'll be sure to grab some then. It MAY come with a 5' bushhog with a brand spanking new gear box, but the price would then be $3,000. He's trying to decide if he wants to let the bushhog go or not.

Pending sale to jwalter... Not really interested in trades since the fundage will be going towards a new carry for me/dad/the fam. He's looking at getting an LC9, SR9c, XD, M&P, etc. Thanks for the props Biggu. I agree it's great, and a blast to shoot all day for very little fundage. It's hard to get rid of but it's time for a bigger caliber.

Walther P22 bought new from Vances at Christmas. My brother took his CCW with it and we've put ~1,000+ rounds through it with no problems. We're only looking to sell because we don't use it. It has been cleaned per manual instructions after EVERY outing. We paid $330 for it then. Vances has it currently for $300 with the 1 mag. He paid $30 for each extra mag, $60 total. Sale Price: $250 Comes with: - Hard case - Tools - Manuals - 2 extra mags he purchased (3 total) Sorry for the crappy cell pics. There are no blemishes other than normal wear. This has not been holstered so no holster/exterior wear or scratches exist. http://www.columbusracing.com/forums/picture.php?albumid=581&pictureid=5105 http://www.columbusracing.com/forums/picture.php?albumid=581&pictureid=5106 http://www.columbusracing.com/forums/picture.php?albumid=581&pictureid=5107

Sad to think that it may have been avoided with a simple action. RIP and sorry for your loss.

Sorry, but that was a gross misrepresentation of the truth. I will man up and admit that. I entered that at work (I'm a personal banker) and was settling the vault with our lead teller (If you've worked in a bank you know why that's relevant to the 2K figure). ~2K is way too huge. It's actually ~200. It's in Adams county. It's not mine personally, rather my grandfathers. Sorry for looking like a tool. LOL. Not my intentions, and hopefully my admitance to this and to not knowing what MOUT was in the same post helps to prove that. But yeah, tons of farm land. Outside of West Union. The kind with sink holes and where you can get lost if you don't know it well. Man, I feel like an ass now... :dumb:

Easy for an infantryman to do, not Joe Schmoe. Also, we've all heard about animals backed into a corner and how they react. No thanks. I'll stick to my plan until I receive my military training.

~2K acres of private property in southern Ohio allows for a lot. No, I haven't....yet. I wil be soon though.

Surefire also sits by my bed. In the end though, as I said, I will not hunt through a house unless I absolutely have to. No difference in stopping power? Ok... Anyway, back to reality and logic, I live in an all brick house with insulated walls in the middle of a crap ton of cornfields. My hollow points and 12g will be just fine. The .22s stay in the gun cabinet and comes out only for fun times shooting targets or hunting small creatures like they're meant to. No offense to you. If that's your means of defense then by all means rock it. I'm just stating that I prefer to know that I can drop a cracked out assailant. 10 .22 rounds from a Walther won't do that for me. It's just a matter of preference really.
-
Made me chuckle a little. Also, tell your dad thanks for serving, and I mean that.
-
I can grab my 9mm just as fast as I can grab a .22, and yes it CAN kill, but so can a trip and a bump on the head. I'm looking for stopping power. Not necessarily killing power. That's why I load hollow points instead of ball rounds for defense.
-
No offense, but your dad was extremely irresponsible, as were you, but at that age of course you were. We all were.
-
No clue what you meant by that. As in the firearm/weapon he wants to fire? Be CR. Paint everyone with broadest brush possible. Whether it is or not, you don't know me or anything about me, so how could you make such an assumption? Oh well, doesn't really matter to me either way. My life will go on.
-
That's what I meant. It's really a case by case scenario. I have friends who grew up sons of huge hunters and the "game room" had shotguns and rifles lining the walls. Not one of them or their friends ever had an accident. Not saying it COULDN'T have happened, because that would be absurd. Anything can happen. They all just grew up hunting and had their own guns so they weren't mysterious toys to them. On the flip side, I know someone who grew up in a very nice suburban area and weren't taught anything about guns. Finds one, pulls the trigger, friend is dead. Yes anything can happen. Yes kids are stupid. Yes peer pressure is a factor. Raise your kids right, teach them right, do YOUR part to keep the firearms safe and as inaccessible as necessary, and that's all you can do. Just my thoughts though.

Come at me bruh. Seriously, best of luck to you. I hope you're Jason Bourne. .22? Who uses a .22 for home defense?

Private property FTW. ...sorry I couldn't help you out though.

This is one of those things that will give you 1 million opinions and possibly no "right" answers. As for my thoughts, and that's all they are, it's no different than your kid at 14/15 and starting to learn to drive. Do you take them out on back country roads to practice and get the hours required for their temps or do you hide the keys from them? Think about it. How many 15/16 year old kids steal their parents car b/c they never get to drive, don't know much about it, and are curious? Do we treat the car as we do guns? Nope. Keys are left where everyone in the house knows it and cars sit in the driveway just begging to be driven. Pop quiz. What kills more people every year, including teens, cars or guns? Knowledge is power. If you have your kids respect and you use common sense concerning safety guns in the house are perfectly safe. How many eons did houses have guns and 14 kids in 1 little cabin? Today is no different. Just my .02 though. EDIT: And FWIW I grew up in a house where dads gun cabinet, with a glass door, displayed his shotguns, pistol, and rifles. Guess what? He taught me right, taught me safety and functions of the guns at a young age, and I NEVER touched them or wanted too. I also never stole the car or went into their bedroom without permission.

My only prob with those is, if I'm awaken from a dead sleep there are 2 huge problems between me and my sidearm. 1) Human error. 2) Computer error. I won't risk my life for these.

Agreed. Proper instruction and proper storage of a loaded weapon solves this. "Accessible" != "Prevalent". They are at any firearms store, and IMO as good as a vault in the event of an invasion, as you stated in the beginning of this post. I would coax them into making a move towards me (providing they were near point blank range and not showing signs of backing down). Distance is your enemy if you're the victim. My thoughts, but you can never fully understand someone you don't know via online/text/whatever BS where you're not talking to them IRL. I hate assuming things, but unfortunately, I sometimes do.
