Girlfriend's '02 Accord's transmission went out today. The dealership wants $5k to replace -- anyone have any leads for me? Thanks.
-
No. They have 10.5:1 compression and the bottom end is not forged unfortunately. They are a great N/A or nitrous platform. I would not recommend boost to anyone with a stock Mach. Like someone said it's close to the 99/01 Cobra motor, but the heads/intake are different, increasing the compression ratio. Mach 1's are a heckuva N/A stock car. Definitely no comparison between a Mach and a GT.

Couldn't agree more. Nothing would make me happier than seeing Vince get his ego beat down. He didn't deserve that win.

I thought it was a great game. Michigan really didn't score any points that they weren't set up for -- virtually every point they scored was given to them on HUGE penalties or turnovers and that blame is on OSU -- but the fact that in spite of how poorly OSU was playing, they still turned around and beat Michigan in the big house when Michigan never even made a mistake like the Buckeyes did is just something to be commended. Just my two cents.

Yep, a # of things it could be. Lack of voltage to the CPU (ie. bad power supply), bad RAM (if you have multiple sticks of it, try one, then the other, if not, try to borrow some from someone to test), CPU overheating (although most of the time the system will freeze instead of reboot when heat related). Try those things then get back to us. When you get that Windows boot menu always just 'start windows normally' unless you have a logical reason to go to safe mode (like cleaning out drivers or something).

Dude awesome job. I love shepherds, my last two dogs have been shepherds. You have a very nice looking one as well.

I don't know much about that market, he had mentioned another shop that sells crate engines and they retailed that motor for $8k, so I'm sure other places may sell cheaper. He just happens to have atleast one to sell, maybe a few more that he is selling for $6k. I'm not in the market currently, but it sounds like a good deal for an engine like that and I figured some people on here might be interested so I thought I'd throw it up on the boards for him since he's local.

A friend of mine has atleast one LS6 motor available (out of the later Z06 model Corvettes with 405HP). Brand new crate engine(s) -- they generally retail for $8k but he's selling for $6k to move quickly. Contact: Bill Lemon Phone: 614 - 836 - 7987 Just thought some of you might be interested.

Thanks very much for that information!

I'm looking at a C5 Corvette down the street that my girlfriend and I just saw tonight and I'd like to check the car out before wasting any time checking it out further. If someone would be kind enough to run a carfax or something on it I would greatly appreciate it. Thanks! VIN#: 1G1YY22G4W5106781

I know it was a great game. We just have to work on holding onto the football, although that first one was just dirty Iowa football right there. The guy was laying down but because he was on top of one of their guys he wasn't "down" so they were allowed to keep trying to take it away from him. Cheap. Oh well, Iowa got what they deserved. Hope they play as good against Penn State in a couple weeks.

Razorback replied to Razorback's topic in Other Stuff
Just sold the processor alone for $150. I still have the mainboard, it's on ebay if you want to bid on it. Opening bid is $25, I think buy it now is like $49.99 or something like that. Feel free to check them out, links are in the post above yours. Thanks! -
Pentium 4 3.0C (S478 CPU) & Gigabyte Mainboard

They're both on ebay now in case anyone wants to try to buy them cheap cheap. http://cgi.ebay.com/ws/eBayISAPI.dll?ViewItem&rd=1&item=6803695735&ssPageName=STRK:MESE:IT http://cgi.ebay.com/ws/eBayISAPI.dll?ViewItem&rd=1&item=6803698190&ssPageName=STRK:MESE:IT Thanks for looking. -
Okay I just ordered a new mainboard and CPU for my computer so my old mainboard and CPU need to go. The CPU is an OEM 12-capacitor Pentium 4 3.0C cpu (800MHz FSB) socket 478. This does not include a heatsink but I do have an aftermarket heatsink available for it that I'll let go for a bit extra (it's an Aero 4 copper heatsink/fan - requires Intel heatsink mounting block to be installed on the mainboard - see below). The mainboard is a Gigabyte GA-8IPE1000-L (865PE Chipset) - Retail. My CPU was watercooled so the mounting block for the stock heatsink has been removed. I still have the stock mounting block but the plastic holding clips have been removed (during the removal process they were quite difficult to remove, so rather than risk damaging the board I simply clipped the ends off to safely remove the mounting block). I'm sure you could find a way to replace the plastic rivots, but would highly recommend someone who wants to watercool or use aftermarket air cooling that requires removal of the mounting block (since it's obviously already removed) to purchase this as it's already ready for you. I have had zero problems with this mainboard, it has been very reliable and very stable. I have had zero problems with any of the ports or the BIOS. CPU: $145 Mainboard: $45 (includes retail box, driver CD, extra cables that were included with the board) These things are still in my computer (in fact I'm posting this on that same computer using the aforementioned for sale CPU and Mainboard) -- my new stuff will be here Monday so I just wanted to gauge interest and possibly find a buyer before I actually do the upgrade to save these things from having to go on ebay. I would greatly prefer to sell these as a pair so if you want both I'll knock $10 off and sell them at $180 together. Feel free to PM me or E-Mail me with any questions as well, thanks very much! Same. If there are any CPD on the board, or Gahanna preferably I'd love to ask a question as well.

Gas is now over 3.00 in COlumbus and Chillicothe
Razorback replied to CJINOHIO03's topic in Passing Lane
$3.09 here in Gahanna (just got home from work). The Cobra's staying in the garage for the time being. I'm going to pull down my bicycle that's been hanging up for about 6 years, pump up the tires and see if it still works okay, and I think it's time to start riding to work. -
This was originally a 96 GT Convertible. It has had a complete Cobra swap to a 97 Cobra motor, wiring harness, PCM and supercharger with upgraded pulley. It's been a great car and I've had it for 6 years. It puts down around 450rwhp (~550 crank horsepower). The engine in the car is completely forged and rated to over 700 horsepower which is definitely the pride of the car. It shifts great, the body is in great condition and has many mods already done to the car. It was a weekend car and never driven in the rain or snow and was garage kept. Only 6,200 miles on the motor (3,500 of them supercharged). The problems with the car are that it has recently been smoking a little, and hesitating really bad in the low RPMs. The tuners told me the computers were showing it to have failing O2 sensors and that I needed to pick up new front O2 sensors from Ford along with extension harnesses for them as bad O2s could cause driveability problems. The exhaust is also rattling and needs looked at. I've checked the oil and see nothing contaminated in it which leads me to think that the motor atleast runs fine, especially since it dynoed extremely strong recently. I wanted to put a set of ported and polished heads with some good valves on it along with a new set of blower cams and SSR intake, but I won't get around to it because I need money to go house shopping. I also have a set of slicks for the car and a forged oil pump is sitting in my living room that I was going to have installed also, but I won't be getting around to it so if you're interested, those are yours at no charge. Feel free to check out the pictures of the car at http://home.columbus.rr.com/razor/home.html The car has well over $20k in mods to it not including the price of the original car itself. If I could see $14k I would be happy as that would atleast cover my investment in the motor and supercharger combo. If you're looking for a car that makes well over 500 horsepower and has loads of room for improvement in the power arena that is in good physical condition and convertible, definitely check it out. The car is sold as-is so please if there are any questions I would be happy to answer them and help you out in any way possible. The car is paid off so I do have the title here to avoid any bank involvement if you want to buy it straight without a loan. Thanks very much. Feel free to E-Mail me any questions you may have: pgray2@columbus.rr.com My ebay name is also Razrback16 in case you want to check feedback (100% positive). Thanks for looking!

Sure, fuel pumps can give out at any time. Definitely why it's a good idea to have a fuel pressure gauge in the cockpit. Now if I could have a pressure gauge for the water pump for the Snow kit so I would KNOW I had good pressure all the time then I would run water injection without hesitation and just clean the nozzle frequently to avoid clogs. Does anyone know if that's possible to put a gauge in the cockpit to watch the water pump for the injection kit? Not sure about the gas mileage thing.
-
Thanks much.
-
I wouldn't be interested in buying at the present time, but generally speaking what do those kits go for? I wouldn't mind using one as a way to just cool the intake charge without actually tuning it and advancing timing. I don't trust it that much
-
Oh really? I didn't know that. I only race occasionally at Trails for fun, but thanks for the tip. I'm not sure how long I'll be keeping this car anyway so I may not do much more in the way of mods to it -- I want to sell it and pick me up a targa top C6, but prices have to fall first. smile.gif Did you get your motor fixed?
-
There are pros and cons. I really considered it for my car, but the fact of the matter is that the nozzle can clog or the pump can fail, and going down the track shifting at 7 grand and having the water injection system fail is the last thing I want to risk happening. Intercoolers are more expensive, but safer. I love the idea of water/meth injection, but I probably won't go that route. Heard good things about it though for you guys that are planning on trying it. Post pics when you get it installed Jason.
