  1. Sorry. I looked back and confused your comment with the one Varioram made about the 560whp. My bad.
  2. 560whp is a little more than 322. So because he made that number on a 16g(with a different car), you are assuming he can make 240 more hp with a bigger turbo that you know nothing about? Anyone can make those kind of numbers on a 16g (with a 2.0l). It obviously gets a tad a harder as you start climbing up the HP ladder. The 3037s turbo from HKS isn't going to make a number like that without spray. HKS rates the maximum output of the turbo at 480hp. There are plenty of other choices to net that output but that turbo isn't going to do it.
  3. You'd be very fortunate to see 500whp with a 3037 and no spray. Its basiacally a GT30r variant and isn't going to make that much power. I'm not a big fan of stroker kits for these cars in general. I would rather see the 2.0l wind out to 9k. Last year, there were numerous shops running deep 10s all year on the stock gearbox/drivetrain(except clutch). The one thing that has surely been proven on the EVO is the robustness of the drivetrain compared to a DSM. Sorry to stray off topic.
  4. Modify any car heavily and it will break. The reason you don't see STIs breaking is because nobody is modifying them very seriously. The reason for this is because the car's layout makes it a serious PITA to work on. Again, do things correctly and the EVO is a solid platform to race on. Idiot kids trying to run 25PSI with their stock turbo on pump gas are what is contributing to bad stereotypes.
  5. </font>There is no excuse for anyone to be going through EVO longblocks unless they have no idea what they are doing tuning wise. I'm assuming that this guy is a serious racer/tuner if you say he has 4 or 5 $1600 transfer cases laying around. There has been no national evidence of anyone having mechanical engine failures in the EVO (unlike the 2g DSMs) if they knew what they were doing with tuning. The transfer case subject has been very touchy with the EVO. Many people had problems in the beginning with them. The main point of emphasis was that people were not careful with the type of gear oil used in them. Unlike the tranny and rear end, using the EXACT Mitsu Diaqueen SAE90 gear oil is critical to the thing not grenading itself. This was never an issue in the DSM transfer cases so many people made the mistake of trying aftermarket products and tons of T cases failed. I also attribute many of the failures to first time spoiled kids who learned to drive a 5 speed on their EVO smile.gif
  6. All that hp won't do you much good at Midohio.
  7. I passed dozens of 911 Porsches at Midohio with my wife's lightly modded EVO. There was literally 1 GT2 and 2 newer gen 911 turbos that I could not pass in my run group. It just depends on what's important to you.
  8. Its a drycell battery. It doesn't need to be in a box to pass inspection.
  9. You guys need to spend more time here in Grove City. At least here: domestic rice>import rice.
  10. It looks like the Pro imports are neck and neck ET wise and out trapping the NHRA pro stock class. I think i'm sensing some jealousy here

    DSM question

I love when people just lump all of the rice loving, neons-a-glowing, non turbo DSM kids together with the real 4G63 owners
  12. I realized that 1 minute after posting hence the "delete". You're speedy
  13. How hard it would be for you is hard to say. I would guess that if you've never done anything significant that you would want to enlist the help from someone who has pulled a tranny before. There is nothing specific about a FWD DSM that greatly differentiates it from any other FWD import.

    Who Dey.........

.....and the week before the Bengals made the Browns look like a Super Bowl contender.
  15. You could have Jim Brown or Walter Payton back there, it won't matter with that O line.
  16. I've seen some ghetto boost leak testers from the DSMers but the PB cap definately takes the cake. That's hilarious man!
  17. Sorry my links got screwed up but they're www.driveshaftshop.com and www.raxles.com
  18. [/url] and both sell aftermarket DSM axles. I don't think you are going to find what you are wanting though. You're gonna need to get that bolt out.
  19. Oh you're one of them. OK, I got it now.
  20. I wanted to know a quarter mile ET, not 330'.
  21. Ouch. So harsh. I didn't realize there was a prerequisite of post count before I could ask a question to the almighty Desperado. I'm sure you would destroy me anyway and put me in my place. Can someone come over and hold me???
  22. I'm confused. So what does the Deperado's junk run?
  23. Sunoco 94 in the wife's EVO. Torco 118NOS in the Big Car
