  1. I have used a plastic wedge and the "big easy" bendable tool to get into every car i can think of that was locked out. I also have an inflatable wedge, some take longer than others but cant think of a single car that I have not been able to get into. http://www.amazon.com/Lock-Technology-LTI145-Multi-Piece-Inflate-A-Wedge/dp/B0012PS4ZU/ref=sr_1_3?ie=UTF8&qid=1346605276&sr=8-3&keywords=big+easy+lockout not sure if anyone local like harbor freight has a cheap kit to buy, its nice to have. If I was around home right now id let you borrow it or swing by and give you a hand

    Crocs

yeah never tried a pair on but they seem to be popular for some reason, im guessing they are real comfy. If you goto the hospital much at all or notice it, every nurse has a pair on almost.
  3. For example this car was less then 2g to have painted and some repair ... and waterbased paint before http://i6.photobucket.com/albums/y216/1972nova/DSC00672.jpg http://i6.photobucket.com/albums/y216/1972nova/DSC00668.jpg http://i6.photobucket.com/albums/y216/1972nova/DSC00662.jpg After http://i6.photobucket.com/albums/y216/1972nova/DSC00968.jpg http://i6.photobucket.com/albums/y216/1972nova/IMG_6757.jpg http://i6.photobucket.com/albums/y216/1972nova/IMG_6755.jpg
  4. gave me another craigslist search to plug into the phone
  5. ive seen plenty of very nice paint jobs done by people including jambs keeping same color or shade of for 2-2500 ball park. obviously you can knit pick it but overall it still comes down to get what you pay for. Id never pay big bucks for a car that gets driven thats for sure. The first knick or rock chip will make you sick
  6. lol whatever I buy would have to be CHEAP to constitute a swap
  7. Man I would love to do this andy, I just dont have a car. Could I drive your M3 or Porsche? :gabe: I have been itching to try this recently and been looking into a cool platform to start with and still have fun with.
  8. LOL how he cleared the chamber of the round in the middle of street while the hostile was walking back to his car still.
  9. ^ been said by a ton of painters and cheap asses, if you do some of your own prep work and detail taping they can do an ok cheap paint job. its all in the prep which I have no patience for. I recommend Mike@bob boyd lincoln. He is the manager and will hook you up, tell him dan sent you. He had already done work for a few people on here that I have sent him.
  10. I would love to find one of these... id find a way to store it http://i6.photobucket.com/albums/y216/1972nova/100_3921.jpg http://i6.photobucket.com/albums/y216/1972nova/100_1289.jpg

  14. I miss uverse, not in the area of town I moved to, the only thing I miss about living out west
  15. Yeah its on the possible list, there really are a ton of options and a few build threads here and there ive seen. Im going for a smaller approach just due to parking options. but I have thought about shuttle bus, short bus, step van, ambulance chassis with a home build box, box van/truck. The only down side to van is maintenance, it seems stuff that you encounter like injectors on a diesel would require the engine to be pulled or body lifted. I just think all around a conversion like this is cheaper then either a living quarters trailer and buying a diesel truck or obviously some toter setup. pockets arent that deep for a toter and I know I would not travel enough to use it. My open trailer does just fine, but hate leaving it someplace with the car on it while I sleep not knowing what the morning would bring
  16. also considered converting one of the airport style shuttle buses
  17. Anyone on here ever make their own home made tow vehicle setup? I have seen a ton of e450 style box vans with the 7.3 diesel engines and the like for sale rather cheap. I have a nice newer 1/2 ton truck that pulls my open trailer around fine but recently got a 30 foot camper and been kicking around the idea of a 24-28' enclosed car trailer. Idea would be to get one of these said box vans, frame the roll up door section to make a complete enclosure, frame in a side rv style door and folding steps. Put in some type of laminate floor/carpet and cabinets with a bed and some lighting with a roof top ac. would be great for any over night car hauling needs. Proly have 6-8k in a sleep style diesel hauler... thoughts? I dont have deep enough pockets for a purpose built toter or storage for a large vehicle but a smaller setup like this could be pretty sweet.

  20. thats a landrover 300tdi... big difference from a vw tdi, i dont think that tank would be served well by any vw tdi unless it was the v10 used in the touareg
