  1. We just bought my wife a 2016 XC90 Inscription. Easily the nicest interior I have ever been in. Feels like a freaking tank, not a squeak or rattle anywhere (48k miles). We will see on reliability - it is CPO and covered for next 2 years. I think they are the best looking SUV out there.

  2. Chevy will now offer the ZL1 1LE with the 10 speed auto. It was over .5 second faster than the manual on GMs Milford proving grounds. You had to see this one coming...

  3. That's pretty impressive. The 1LE is no joke.

I get from a driver standpoint most of us would prefer a true manual but man, we're living in a time where factory cars are performing amazingly well and the companies are starting to challenge each other once again. What a time to be alive.

This is the first article I have read that predicts it will be faster than the ZL1 1LE on a track - most try to distance the GT500 from that car saying that is not really what this car is meant for. That would be really impressive if it is though as it clearly will be faster in the quarter mile.

  4. I’ll be honest with you, the 8 speed in my Audi is much better than the twin clutch in my Nissan. I’m pretty sure it shifts just as fast and the paddles work better. It will hold much, much more torque as I’m pretty sure all the huge torque Bentley’s have the same lump, as well as the hellcat/demon/red eyes. Yet the Audi shifts better than my hellcat charger and has never had an issue cruising 90% of the time on the 93 octane tune (700lb/ft). I’m on the brink of trading my charger for an rs3, so it will be interesting driving a 6speed twin clutch, 7speed dct, and 8 speed slush box back to back.

Mmmmmm RS3. They are getting those into the 10s easily now and the sound they make is amazing.

OT, but does anyone have a wet kit for an LS engine I can borrow for a weekend? TOTALLY asking for a friend...

This is the point of this effort :). I miss my CTSV in a big way.

OT - anyone know how long I can run a dual pulley set up on an S4 before it eats its cats? (Paging Tim....)

Should be a good time - looking forward to it.

  6. While I would always prefer a manual, if you haven’t driven a car with a good dual clutch auto, you should before you form your opinion. I was one of the biggest haters on here when people were defending the DSG in Audi’s and similar set ups. Now that I own one, I appreciate the differences between it and a torque converter auto. They are way more engaging to drive. Clearly not manual transmission levels of engagement, but way better than a run of the mill auto.

  7. The proportions are just all wrong. I also would not buy a sports car with an auto. I used to demand a stick in my daily but, now that I have a 17 mile trek through tons of traffic, I am glad I switched to an auto. I will say automatics have come along way, I just am not sure a sports car is ever as good with an auto.

  8. For my '86 GT:

Finally fix the broken passenger seat. Needs something welded, I just haven't taken the time to find someone that can do it. Possible have the hood painted. It had some sap drip on it last year and some of the paint is peeling off. I'm debating if I should just have that painted or maybe even plasti-dip it since it's supposed to be black anyway. Other than that, I got a lot of the work done this past year to get it back on the road and driveable.

    For my '03 Cobra:

I've got some sort of clutch cable / throw out bearing noise that started late summer. I believe it's just a stretched our clutch cable, so hopefully that will be a quick fix. Other than that, it's tip top! :D

    For my '08 G8 GT:

I've got a squeaky belt / pulley thing going on. Started right before I put it away for the winter. More of an annoyance than anything.

So yeah, I don't have a lot of car goals for 2019, just mostly keep my shit running and fun.

However, my 7 year old is big into cars now and wants to go to the drag strip. So I might take one of them. Either the G8 or the '86, probably. Something he can maybe ride along in. :)

Why not take the Cobra to the track?
