  1. bottom line::

there is no way GM is footing the bill for a "clean sheet" engine design that departs this much from their previous motors, and planning on sticking it in a car that will only sell 10k units per year. this motor will find its way into other cars. likely the mid-engine vette, and multiple others moving forward

Agreed - this is going in the Vette

  2. I agree with you on the wagon. Luckily for me, I prefer AWD.

I'm not shitting on SUVs, I'm saying I don't agree with you shitting on sedans.

I wasn't too keen on it at first but I figured since it's a DD, I'd actually prefer it, which I do. 8-Speed is real nice when driving long distances, doing 80mph under 2000rpm in a 4 banger.

I've got a manual in my fun car, which happens to be a sedan.

I have plans to get a C7 GS in the “near future” - no question it will be a manual. If a car is meant to be my “fun car” I totally agree with you and manual only. A DD though? I prefer a manual but there are a lot of positives to a good auto

  3. So you'll settle for an auto because you don't actually care about driving. Just "the rush of being pushed back in the seat."

Truly have not decided. There are pros / cons to both. Biggest factor will be can I wait? Who knows I may settle...

Good call on the towing, but most don’t pull the trigger on a super Ute for its towing.

  4. Let's also take a minute to reflect. Audi bro traded a manual A4 for an auto A5.

Casey wants to trade manual Camaro for some boring ass auto sedan.

    OKAY GUIZ YOU WIN!!!

FWIW - I am looking for a manual sedan but, as mentioned, they are hard to find

  5. There is nothing a Grand Cherokee does better than a decent sized sedan. They are tiny inside. If there is anything that is useless it is the “super SUVs” of which you speak.
  6. So, slower than a sports car, and less practical than a super SUV? got it. Sedans are pointless.

I totally disagree with you. A sedan, while not as useful at carrying stuff, is way better to drive than an SUV. A sports car handles better than a sedan but you can’t carry people. I want to shoot myself everyday driving my Suburban back and forth to work. It is a really nice vehicle that can carry a ton of stuff but sucks to drive.

  7. On another note - a GM exec (forget who), indicated Cadillac is developing a small sedan to attack the ‘Ring sedan record. I would have to assume it is the on again off again ATSV+. I know the LT -series motors fit so it could Be interesting if they really do it.
  8. Even my 535 feels MUCH larger than a CTS-v, and obviously no comparison to the 7 series.

Its interesting that the motor is being made in bowling green. Is this the mill going into any of the Vettes?

Even the 3rd gen V? It is a large car. I was looking at a 2016 CTS V Sport and man is it big on the outside at least.

  9. And thats with a stock intake and TB. It is pretty wild to think about it, but everyone with a cam this big is making 560-600+depending on the supporting mods. Add an MSD or Fast intake, 102mm TB and I'd expect 600+ on pump. Add E85 and 610-620 is what people are seeing. On motor only! Its mighty impressive. But when you consider its a dry sump'd titanium rod'd 427 that can spin to 7K+ it makes sense. Its a factory racecar.

Such an amazing motor - they sound incredible at full wail.

  10. I will have a pole barn in the next 2 years or so. I want a fun daily and need the 3rd bay in my garage for my quad and tractor. For now, I don’t want or need the extra car.

Besides, a fleet of cars is stressful to me - too much maintenance. I would rather spend my time elsewhere right now.

But, I get your point and I will miss this car.

  11. So, as some of you know, my wife and I moved out to the country with some land. We have different needs now, so I have decided to sell the Camaro.

    The highlights:

    - 2SS - Fully loaded, every option except Nav, including HUD, Halos, heated leather seats, etc.

    - 27,000 miles

    - 6 speed manual (rare)

    - Color is Red Jewel Tintcoat and was only available for 1 year on the vert

    Perf Mods:

    - Comp Cam (231/247) with supporting valvetrain mods

    - Kooks Stainless Headers

    - Borla ATAK Exhaust

    - 4.10 rear gears

    - LS9 clutch

    - Roto Fab CAI

    - fluid damper underdrive pulley

    Appearance mods:

    - Z28 replica wheels - 20x10 F, 20x11 R (315s out back) with Nitto Invos (< 2000 miles)

    - heritage grill

    - tint

    - BMR lowering springs

Always garaged, it has never seen rain since I have owned it. Stored winters. Dyno‘d at 460 to the wheels with stock intake (before RotoFab CAI). Drives great, pulls hard, sounds amazing. No disappointments.
