  1. If it is stock it should be covered under the power train warranty (5/100k)
  2. There are no "symptoms" though some have reported lower oil pressure than normal leading up to it. Mine did not. The problem is a stuck Pressure relief valve in the oil pump. It generally happens right at start up - seems like when the car sits the valve gets stuck. There is nothing in the oil on mine so I am hopeful it will be a quick fix. It was fresh Mobil one so it is practically clear so should be easy to see metal shavings. Crossing fingers
  3. . Fair enough - but we are hoping this is just the oil pump as most end up being - not anew engine
  4. Because they have no issues? Google New mustang transmissions...its awesome
  5. Planning on pulling the battery cable and maybe the fuse to the starter
  6. Thanks guys - yeah I was up a good chunk of the night last night doing research. It seems that most in my situation put a new pump on and are good to go. There are some that end up with catastrophic damage but I am going to hope most of those guys were driving when it happened or drove it with no pressure. I am certain it had good oil pressure right up until that start up with 0 oil pressure. For what it's worth it appears to affect ALL LS3s and ALL years at least through 2013.
  7. I actually read where someone said I should start it and floor it...apparently that is supposed to free up the stuck valve...I am like no thanks.
  8. The trick is getting it towed and into a repair shop without some dude starting it again...
  9. As CDK said, no warning. Given this is a new car to me and I have been worried about probs since day 1, I have watched the gauges like a hawk. Took my dad for a quick spirited drive and all gauges were good. Idled in his driveway a while as neighbors wanted to hear it . Shut it down and when I fired it up after dinner is when I got the warning.
  10. Would have been awful on the way home from Atlanta. Glad it was just idling in my driveway as well...
  11. So, took my new-to-me 2011 Camaro SS upto Delaware to show my parents. Everything was going perfectly - parked it and had dinner. Went back out to start it and got a "low oil Pressure shut off engine". Immediately shut it down. Checked the oil, looked good. Started it to see if maybe it was an error reading and got the same warning and shut it down, again immediately. Doing some research and find it is a known problem with the Ls3. So lucky it happened here - it is sitting in my parent's garage (versus in the 700+ mile trip home). Now to decide if I want to tackle it myself or tow it to IPS.
  12. I had to laugh at the vision of you, your wife, and your kids walking 6 miles after a breakdown only because you would NEVER hear the end of it (not hoping it happens of course as that would be awful). I was so worried my Camaro would break down on the way home for that exact reason. It would be funny and a story if it is you and a buddy...not so much with a wife and kids
  13. Looks Great - congrats -The "dirty silver" (aka pewter) always seemed to beat me in shows : http://images.tapatalk-cdn.com/15/06/09/d07faeaba28668da646ee474d475d02c.jpg
  14. Agreed - the IRS really helps. It is also much more solid than my 2002 TA was - even as a convertible.
  15. And agree - GM knocked it out of the park on the 1LE and Z28 wheels.
  16. I love the update to the rear end but prefer the front end on the 2010-2013. I like the 2014+ front as well just prefer the previous version including the hood.
  17. Definitely do not think it is tranny related. Trans shifts and feels better than any I have driven. Noise is definitely from the rear end. You guys may be right on the bushings - my CTSv made the same noises - this is just louder.
  18. I had a guy whip by me last week in a 1LE and it sounded great. I am not sure it it was stock but looked like it
  19. So true. This thing really drives well - I was worried for no reason. It is a little tricky starting on a hill but fine otherwise. I do need to figure out the rear end - I know they can be a little noisy but this one seems to be noisier than others I have been in. You really cannot hear it unless you are in 5th going 45-55 MpH at steady throttle. It is pretty loud at that point but it goes silent if I just give it more throttle or speed up a bit. I have some research ahead of me.
  20. Yeah thanks - I thought it was a tasteful mod
  21. http://images.tapatalk-cdn.com/15/06/07/e89353ba696d73719bd756c789ae990f.jpg 700 miles and finally home. Thing ran perfect all the way home. I can't hear anything at this point but all else is good.
  22. I will have it at C and C on Saturday if you want to see what the can sounds / drives loke
  23. Nice! The 1LE was my other choice (just ask Jordan).
