  1. I have owned 4 Suburbans and they have all been ridiculously reliable. I sold my 2002 Suburban Z71 to a friend with 146k miles and it ran like new. I sold it for 6k. He has put over 50k miles on it in a year with 0 money back into it (other than tires). He is getting ready to cross 200k. It is all original too - biggest repair I ever did was A/C compressor. We looked at the Expedition and Excursion and there really is no comparison. Chevy has been doing that size vehicle so much longer and it shows. That being said the drivetrain is the same as the Siverado so get that if you want a truck. We like the ability to carry people, things, or a combo of both. I got the Weathertech mats for the car and an perfectly comfortable throwing messy stuff in it.
  2. Happy Father's Day to all you out there who are embracing one of life's greatest privileges and biggest responsibilities. Mothers are important but based on my mentoring of troubled teens it is the father that can make the biggest difference. You can almost guarantee a troubled teen has an absent or unsupportive father. It is never too late to get involved with your kids if you are not doing your part now!
  3. Nice pick up - my wife nixed orange as an option or I may have gone with the same color!
  4. Congrats Nicky - truck looked good.
  5. Cool - consensus says stop being a pansy and drive the damn thing this summer
  6. If it's not raining I will head up there as soon as I am able but probably won't be until 530 or 6 - got stuck in NYC this morning
  7. The car I recently purchased has had a cam in it since late 2011 and has had 20k miles put on it. I intended to put new springs in it this winter but am wondering if I am pushing it. This year it won't see more than 3-5k admittedly easy miles - it is a cruiser for me with occasional "spirited" drives. So what say you CR, can I wait until the winter when it is down anyways or should I Do it immediately? For what it's worth the builder, who appears to be reputable and know what they are talking about, said 30-40k miles (that seemed too long to me). Details: PRC springs, titanium retainers, Comp Cams 231/247 617/624 113 LSA. Based on the fluids and such it has had impeccable care to date
  8. Anyone be interested in meeting up beforehand so we can park together?
  9. Yeah it does not appear to be a "common" problem - it happens from time to time. Most never encounter it which is good. In my case, it happened at an ideal time so minimum impact to me or the car for which I am very thankful. It is happy again and I am glad to have it back in the garage
  10. Nice - mine sounds very similar
  11. Just giving you the opportunity to see the front of it for once.
  12. You guys just need to work on making your crap faster so you don't have to look at the rear end I will admit that the rear of all of the 2010+ is my least favorite angle.
  13. I cannot believe you still have this.
  14. I would but I am message board retarded and don't know how to . Come to c and c
  15. This is why I love this community. Scott Cordell to fantastic care of my car. I was worried some lackey would start it - he said "I will be the only one handling the keys - no worries". It was the oil pump - relief valve was still stuck when he removed it. If the weather holds off t will make its first c and c appearance.
  16. <---- doing research on 2 piece drive shafts If we wanted 0 issues we would buy an accord. A car with personality will have its share of idiosyncrasies in my opinion.
  17. I found this; http://www.camaro5.com/forums/showthread.php?t=201500 And thought it was helpful
  18. I am just reading up on this so feel free to do more research. I read the part number is different on the ZL1 which would mean, if true, the V is different too. I have no idea what % this problem affects but just know that "more than a few" have experienced it.
  19. I have had multiple LS motors and this is the not only the first time I have ever had it happen to me but first time I have ever heard of it. The interesting thing is i believe it is the same part number on the LS1, LS2, and LS3. It seems it only affects LS3s
