  1. So you think direct injection and the extra cubes are an "unfair advantage"? The Mustang is a DOHC 32 valve - should we put that in here? Or how about we reopen the 03/04 mustang saga about forced induction versus cubes - so stupid. The key will be power under the curve - I would expect the LT4 will have a significant advantage there - at least to start. The 2016 Camaro SS will be faster than the current Mustang - those are the facts. How long it takes Ford to answer? Probably not long which is good for us.

  3. Agreed - it will definitely be lighter than the Mustang. Not as much as it should be but going the right direction.
  4. Agreed - if the base 2016 base SS is faster than the 2015 1LE and corners even harder (as GM confirms) the 2016+ 1LE will be an animal - not to mention the Z28.

  8. Are you going to swap out the cam or let it ride for now? (I think I remember you saying you had a big cam in it.)
  9. I have said it multiple times here but I have owned 4 Suburbans over the last 16 years and have enjoyed ridiculous reliability. Tires, brakes and oil changes for the most part. Put an A/C compressor, replaced an intake gasket, couple of power window motors - not bad for 16+ years
  10. ^this I have an iPhone 6 and there is no reason for me to upgrade to the 6S. I am fine with that. I would not consider a droid-based phone at this point.
  11. Great video. I can appreciate that he is evaluating the cars based on their merits but he really glosses over the $16k price difference. That is a significant difference and just highlights how well GM did on this car. I do think the AMG sounds amazing and am not a fan of the interior of the Cadillac. The Mercedes does look more expensive inside as it should. Exterior there is no comparison in my opinion - I would take the ATSv over the other two in a heartbeat.

  14. Awesome work by the way - I truly respect your fabrication and driving skills. Rod bolts are a weakness in a stock LS1 too, from what I recall. A stock LS1 cam should pull to 6500 I would think.
  15. Why is it maxed at 6000 RPM? Are you just being safe or is that where the power drop off is?

  17. It went to a 6 speed in 2010 in the Tahoes and Suburbans. Going from the 4 to the 6 speed does require adjustment. The biggest thing is, at times, you get caught in the wrong gear - especially turning at 15-20 MPH. It holds the higher gear (for gas mileage) and it falls on its face when you try to accelerate unless you punch it. You get use to it and you can drive around it. I have heard a tune does wonders.
  18. I took the opposite route I suppose I am 42 and am essentially 1 year from being an empty nester. I would say if you plan to have kids - have them now. I would not advise my route but 50 is too old in my opinion. If you wait until you are "financially" ready for a kid you will never have one.
  19. I guess I should have done the math - 17 completions for 200 yards so about 12 yards - at that point Devin Smith would be fighting middle linebackers versus safeties.
