Looking for candidates to fill a Database Architect role. A Database Architect is responsible for collecting and documenting requirements, providing accurate estimates, assisting with table design and query writing, improving database performance, creating and verifying backup strategies, and reporting on their current status. A Database Architect will also mentor less experienced developers, provide advice on how to solve problems, and contribute to maintaining the production environment for the company.
We are looking for a candidate who has web application development experience, preferably experience working with geospatial data. We want someone who is comfortable working in Linux, and has experience with DB2 or MySQL. A candidate who has experience migrating from MySQL to DB2 or using CakePHP will have a significant advantage. We expect a candidate to be able to communicate effectively using verbal and written communications. A candidate must be able to tailor language to communicate with both technical and non-technical individuals.
Requirements
5+ years of experience
3+ years database experience
Strong verbal and written communication skills
Must be authorized to work in the United States
