  1. This may be a repost cause its kind of old. But he certainly knew how to drive! click
  2. I have had XM for two years as well and I have taken it on two cross-country drives (one from San Francisco to Chicago, and one from Columbus to Orlando). This is where XM really shines because FM stations will fade in and out, CD stashes wear thin, but the XM keeps on going! I've driven with the XM in downtown Chicago, but the repeaters kept the signal going strong. The only two places I've ever lost reception (other than long tunnels) are downtown Marysville (no repeaters and 2 and 3-story buildings blocking the southern sky), and Yosemite National Park. I would highly recommend XM to anyone who is fed up with the same old shit on FM radio and doesn't mind paying $10 a month for a little bit of variety.
  3. Okay, just took it for a test drive. There is no smoke, and it started right up. But, like I said above, it does tend to run a bit hot until the thermostat opens. Also, since it's been sitting for about 3 months, I think one of the brakes may have seized, so it may need a brake job. But I think the car would be great for your purposes. It's gotten me accident-free through 3 Columbus winters and 5 Chicago winters! You're free to come look at it and take it for a test drive if you want. Send me a PM.

  5. XM stuff is sold. Amp is still available.
  6. yup. still sitting in the parking lot outside my apartment! I haven't even looked into repairing it, just because I don't want to put up with it. I suppose you could call the Ford dealer and ask them for a quote on the part. It actually doesn't smoke when it's driven regularly, but it does have some trouble starting up after it's been sitting for a while. I'll go drive it around after dinner and give you the full report.

  10. bump. everything is still for sale
  11. Yeah, driving around in the country (mainly from Marysville to Bellefontaine, not on Rt 33), I see more than a few cars like this. There is what I believe to be a 58 Impala sitting in the front lawn of a house on Rt 245 halfway between Marysville and North Lewisburg. Still has most of the chrome on it, too. It's depressing.
  12. Sweet! My car has the 3.0L engine, although I have been told that the 3.8L bolts right up to the 3.0L tranny, as that is what the cop-car configuration was. $450 and one or two weekends of work will get you a good dd/beater!

  14. Well, I'm going to throw this out there. I have a 1994 tan-on-tan Ford Taurus for sale with approximately 120K. Body is in very good shape (considering the condition these cars are usually in), but has its share of scrapes and small dings. There are no major dents or rust spots. The transmission jerks on the 1-2 upshift, but I have had it inspected at ATS Transmission in Marysville, and they tell me that it is better than normal for a Taurus of its age. The problem is that I'm pretty sure it has a blown head gasket, which is surprising because the engine in these cars is known to be reliable! Anyways, it tends to run a little hot until the thermostat opens, but otherwise its fine. It has no major leaks, and I just replaced the tires Winter of '02. It comes with an aftermarket Pioneer CD deck and Pioneer speakers. If somebody is willing to take a weekend and fix the head gaskets, they would have a pretty nice daily driver/beater on their hands. If nobody wants it, I'm pulling out the stereo and sending it to the scrap yard. Price: $400

  16. Specs: 4 Ohm per channel 87.5x2 2 Ohm per channel 175x2 4 Ohm bridged 350x1 "Birth Sheet" says: Actual Total Power 369Watts, all channels driven at 2 Ohms
  17. Alpine XM reciever and two (old-style) XM antennas - $70 - this will connect to any compatible Alpine reciever and will allow you to recieve XM radio (subscription required) Rockford Fostgate Power 350 2-channel amp - $100 - great for powering a sub or some front speakers
  18. That's okay. Mazda has tons of experience designing overly complex twin-turbo systems when a mid-sized single turbo would have been more than sufficient.
  19. I also thought it was funny. Of course, I was more than a little inebriated, but I'm pretty sure it was funny. Not as funny as Dodgeball, though, and I saw that one sober!
  20. This might even beat out the Lamborghini cop car, because we're going to be seeing these stateside. http://prn.newscom.com/cgi-bin/members/thumb/wmark?doc=PRN/prnphotos/docs/039/362&size=512&logo=logo Click here for the article
  21. Yeah they had cutaways of some of the engines, and with the old L-designs, it was easy to see why they had such low compression.
  22. Just wanted to say, I stopped by the Auburn Cord Dusenburg Museum on my way to Chicago last weekend. It's just outside of Fort Wayne, IN. Who would have thought that there was anything so cool in Ft Wayne? Anyways, I'm not much of an antique car guy, but the museum was pretty cool. There were many more cars there than I expected Their focus was, of course, on Auburn's, Cord's, and Dusenburg's, but they had probably a hundred cars spanning from the late 1800s to the early 1970s. They also had some prime cars from the 50s and 60s as well, like an unrestored Mercedes Gullwing SL (it was slick!), Jaguar E-Type, 1952 Ferrari 340, and a Tucker. It was also interesting to see how much automotive technology has changed in the past 100 years. Some of the bigger Dusenberg's came with straight-8 engines, which were supercharged to put out a whopping 200Hp! Today an engine of the same size specifications would be making probaly 400-500HP. If you're ever in the Fort Wayne area, I would highly recommend taking 2-3 hours and $8 and seeing the museum. www.acdmuseum.org
  23. Daredevil (with Ben Ass-lick, wait, most any movie with him in it sucks) Freddy Got Fingered That's all I can think of right now. Usually I try and steer away from a movie that if I think I won't like it. I had lowered my expectations (severly) for these, and they still sucked.
  24. I use Mozilla. No pop-ups, ever. And since the majority of all viruses are written for IE/Outlook, I don't have to worry about them either.
