  1. link get the pistol and aim for the head! personal best: 2080
  2. Well, I thought I would be a WRCF--Wacky Rational Constructive Follower. This makes you Paul Begala. But instead I got a new one: You are a SRDF--Sober Rational Destructive Follower. This makes you a Fountain of Knowledge. You are cool, analytical, intelligent and completely unfunny. Sometimes you slice through conversation with a cutting observation that causes silence and sidelong glances. You make a strong and lasting impression on everyone you meet, the quality of which depends more on their personality than yours. You may feel persecuted, as you can become a target for fun. Still, you are focused enough on your work and secure enough in your abilities not to worry overly. You are productive and invaluable to those you work for. You are loyal, steadfast, and conscientious. Your grooming is impeccable. You are in good shape. You are kind of a tool, but you get things done. You are probably a week away from snapping. Addendum, 2004/07/19: this fits me 99%, there is a slight inaccuracy however. We are not necessarily completely unfunny. If we have a sense of humor (I do) it surfaces on the occasion with well-timed, completely dry, very sarcastic, wit. - Chase Of the 119872 people who have taken this quiz since tracking began (8/17/2004), 7.6 % are this type. I think it's pretty accurate, especially about the last comment about the humor, although I'm not really in good shape (just skinny) and I know I don't have good grooming. And I certainly hope I'm not a tool...
  3. Yeah, but then I wouldn't be able to fit my 400+ CD collection on a 40gig player (I'm not sure that I'll be able to at 192, either!)
  4. 128 is not CD quality. Its usually listed as "near CD quality" I'm gonna be getting an mp3 player in the near future, so I just (today actually) started ripping all my albums. What I did was to rip a CD with the same songs ripped at 128, 160, 192, and 224kb/s, along with the original CD track and listened to it on a bunch of different playbacks. Even in my car, I could hear the difference of 128 vs 160. I'm not sure if I could hear the 192 difference (might have been my ears playing tricks on me), and the 212 was indistinguishable. I finally decided to rip everything at 192, just to be safe, and I'm planning on getting a larger player. But, I would recommend anybody doing that same experiment. If you can't hear the difference, then there's no reason to use up all the extra space.
  5. my favorites were always 3-man , bull shit pyramid , and asshole
  6. yeah, what Steve said. Of course, you always hear stories of somebody buying a perfectly great FD from some stupid redneck who doesn't know what they've got, but usually for that price, something is wrong with the car. The actual KBB for that car is around $11K, so he may be basing the pricing on that, but my advice would to be extra cautious. For reference, I bought my RX-7 3 years ago, and it has the cleanest body and interior I've seen on a car with 90K miles and I paid $15K.
  7. Oldie but a goodie. Thought I'd tag it on here instead of starting a new thread. March Madness Kicks Ass! As for my bracket, the Albequrque region is really screwing me up. I had Georgia Tech beating Wake Forest to advance to the Final Four. In the other three regions, I had Kentucky, UNC, and of course, the Illini, so at least all of those teams are still in it.
  8. Just like the title says. I want to have my injectors cleaned and balanced while the engine is out and I was looking for a good local shop, if possible. I've heard great things about RC Engineering, but they're in California. My buddy sent his to Marren, but they're in CT.
  9. Okay, I know this is kind of lame, but rarely do I purchase a tool and find that it greatly exceeds my expectations. I was at Home Depot last week and they have a ratchet that, well, ratchets when you twist the handle like a screwdriver! That means you don't need any space to ratchet something, cause you don't have to rotate the arm. Also, it ratchets when you twist in both directions, so there is no longer any need to hold the bolt when you get it started. Just twist away. I just used this ratchet to put my throttle body back together and it rules! It's a little pricey, but it comes with a lifetime warranty and is well worth it, IMO. EDIT: Apparently the link doesn't work right. The item number is 24903, if anybody really wanted to check it out
  10. One thing you might want to look into is getting a second car if the RX-7 is your only car. Even if its a 10 year-old whatever, you can list that as your primary driver and the RX-7 as your second car. Some insurance companies give you a break if you do this. Mine does, and I'm with Allstate. And regarding the ticket, your radar detector should have gone off, especially if it's a Valentine. Was he in front of you or behind you? If he was in front of you when he claimed to have tagged you, then there is no way that he used the radar.
  11. Its yours. Send me a PM with your location, when you'd like to meet, etc. I'm out in Marysville.
  12. Could be a blown head gasket? Although I think that was more of a problem with the 3.8L, mine had a leaky head gasket when I sold it and it was a 3.0.
  13. See my for sale ad. The amp is rated at 350W bridged to 1 channel. I used it to power the subs in my RX-7. Don't know how much power you're looking for, but it'll be enough to give you a kick, just don't go looking to blow your windows out.
  14. head unit is sold. everything else is still up for sale.
  15. To repeat what has been said on Temple of VTEC, if you look at Honda's "concept" cars, they are fairly close to the actual production version that shows up a few months later. Look at the TL and RL concepts from last year. Also, the spy pic is obviously of a 5-door hatch, which Honda has already said is not coming to the US. Only the 4-door and 2-door will be sold here. I guess everybody will have to wait until the SEMA show to see the real car!
  16. Stealthmonkey, your PM inbox is full. d3caps, I sent pics to your e-mail [ 04. February 2005, 05:19 PM: Message edited by: large_x7 ]
  17. I'm not sure what you mean by technical manual or fan book. No, its not a shop manual. It is a detailed, officially licensed (I think it was originally sold through dealers) 30-page book, that highlights the technical features of the car with cutaway drawings and such. They're currently on e-Bay for $15-$25. It looks just like this one: http://i7.ebayimg.com/03/i/03/14/1d/d0_1_b.JPG http://i13.ebayimg.com/03/i/03/14/08/16_1_b.JPG http://i9.ebayimg.com/03/i/03/12/a0/14_1_b.JPG
  18. Well, I cleaned out my storage closet, and I have some stuff that I'm looking to get rid of: Rockford Fosgate Power 350 Amplifier This is a good amplifier to power a pair of speakers or a subwoofer. $100 Honda S-2000 Hardbound book covering the technical aspects of the S-2000. Limited edition number 2446/2500 $15 Nakamichi CD head unit, circa 1998. Model number CD-35. I picked this up from a friend after I had to send my Alpine to the shop so I would have something to listen to. It is bare bones, but it sounds phenomenal. The buttons are kind of flaky, but they probably just need to be cleaned. $30 5x7 speaker baffles - install these behind your speakers for added bass (effectively giving them a box) and to protect them from items loaded into your trunk. I bought them and they didn't fit in my car. $5 Yamaha center channel speaker for home stereo. Model NS-C55. I bought this off e-Bay a while ago and it wasn't the same one advertised in the listing. The guy wouldn't take it back and I got stuck with it. Sounds fine, just not what I wanted. $60 2 Crucial 256MB DDR Memory Modules Here is a link that shows the memory specs. Currently listed for $43/each, I will sell them for $50/pair Celestion G12-80 & Celestion G12T-100 12" guitar speakers. 4 ohms, 80 watts & 100 watts. Would sound great in any cabinet. I had intended to build a cabinet myself, but never got around to it. This is for speakers only$30 each or $50 for both I'm anxious to get rid of this stuff, so I will consider any reasonable offer. Thanks for looking!
  19. that's true. gm/chevy = duramax = isuzu ford = powerstroke = international dodge = cummins = cummins
  20. Office Sensitivity Training Try saying these polite responses to your co-workers. TRY SAYING: Perhaps I can work late. INSTEAD OF: When the fuck do you expect me to do this? TRY SAYING: I'm certain that is not feasible. INSTEAD OF: No fucking way! TRY SAYING: Really? INSTEAD OF: You've got to be shitting me. TRY SAYING: Perhaps you should check with... INSTEAD OF: Tell someone who gives a shit. TRY SAYING: Of course I'm concerned. INSTEAD OF: Ask me if I give a shit. TRY SAYING: I wasn't involved in the project. TRY SAYING: Yes, we really should discuss it. INSTEAD OF: Another fucking meeting? TRY SAYING: I don't think this will be a problem. INSTEAD OF: I really don't give a shit. TRY SAYING: He's somewhat insensitive. INSTEAD OF: He's a fucking prick. TRY SAYING: She's an aggressive go-getter. INSTEAD OF: She's a ball-busting bitch. TRY SAYING: I think you could use more training. INSTEAD OF: What the fuck are you doing?
  21. my thread Let me know where you go and how that works out for you. I haven't gotten around to getting my stuff done yet.
  22. It's a good thing to have anyways. I've used mine enough times to justify its purchase.
  23. If Mike doesn't have one for you, I've got a metric set as well.
  24. Damn that's a bit of a change! I'll be FL for vacation next week. Is the flight company based out of FL? On another note, does FL have emissions? Good luck trying to get the 7 to pass! Better start looking for loopholes now.
