  1. Anybody get video of Max almost being plowed by that truck?
  2. Dude has serious muzzle control issues. I think it's legit though, the bullet spinning.
  3. Love the road trip idea and second the motion to do a few miles on 66. Cheap insurance: Find a shop in Cali to inspect the car before you fly. I'm sure you trust your friend but it's still a good idea to get an impartial set of eyes on the car.
  4. Probably Manuel Antonio which is on the Pacific side, outstanding beaches and great hiking all in one spot. The Caribbean side beaches, at least the ones I visited were not as good for hanging out, lots of protruding coral and course sand. Great surfing/snorkling... obviously not at the same time though since good surfing waves = cloudy water. Next time I go back I'll probably stick to the Pacific side for beaches and spend more time in the north checking out the volcano's. - definitely rent a car/suv, eff bus travel, tons of fun roads to explore.

  6. 1. Turn ignition switch to position I. 2. Press and hold "trip odometer reset button". 3. Turn ignition to position II. 4. Continue holding day counter for about 10 seconds. 5. After Service Reminder Light flashes, release trip odometer button. 6. Should hear "beep-beep" to confirm command accepted
  7. Turbo civic with no under hood pictures, makes sense to me.
  8. Nice. You weren't kidding about the clutch slipping, very interested to see what the car can do with a new disk.
  9. Could try calling Research alloys, I doubt they have it but if they do it's going to be cheap.
  10. I brought the twin engined scirocco filled with furry freaks
  11. Hell of a show guys, immense amounts of ass you kicked. Thanks for letting my unprepared ass borrow your trailer ramps about 16 times.
  12. That's the car, unfortunately that was our first and worst autocross run of 43 seconds. Ended up with a 36 second run. Amazing fun weekend, full story later, one picture for now. http://sphotos.ak.fbcdn.net/hphotos-ak-ash2/hs007.ash2/33723_479071943139_66381183139_6804144_3219389_n.jpg
  13. Good to know, I re-installed the captains chairs which has helped reduce the noise.
  14. Alternator died today. $1900 as is, come and get it.
  15. General Grabber MTS 109t 235/75/15 - tirerack - $99 each plus shipping. Mounted a set of new tires last night, what a joyful experience. All four wheels had a thick layer of oxidation covered by nasty black bead sealer. Much scraping and wire brushing of the sealing area was needed to ensure a decent seal... at least until the oxidation builds up again. All four tires had visible but mild hop/squirm an the balance machine, the worst one required 1.75oz and the others were from 1.25 to .50oz total each. Not too bad. I'll report back when I re-balance them in 2000 miles. http://farm5.static.flickr.com/4124/5017151375_2dae7b2d19_b.jpg http://farm5.static.flickr.com/4089/5017150637_6612e7ecaa_b.jpg
  16. Derek, the van is a toy, I bought it and repaired it with play money, the tire purchase continues the trend. I had a bunch of play money in Paypal and that paid for the tires, when I want a proper set of tires for a proper vehicle I'll call you Mounted the tires last night, what a joyful experience. 17. Those pictures are current and include the damage, the camera date is off. A few more shots in my flickr album for the car here:
  18. $2200 as is $2000 with 15" wheels
  19. The 'engage' motion cables are connected to the shifter using hair pin style cotter pins, it's good for moving the car around but without both engines the car is painfully slow. With a driver it's around 3000lbs now. Anyone know if IPS is filling nitrous tanks at their new location yet?
  20. With about 1 week before the 2010 begins the car is in one piece and quite drivable. This is good. The tweaks I made to the rear suspension worked, no more noticeable bump steer. I picked up a basic dry nitrous setup and intend to use it on the rear engine, I have zero experience with nitrous so I fully expect to break things. The guy I bought it from was using it on an identical VW engine so the jetting should be correct. Mounting will be a problem, I have a small hatch back which no longer has a hatch. I'm thinking of removing the passenger seat for the drag race and bolting the bottle to the floor. It does have a blowdown tube so it might pass tech. In a perfect world I'll see high 12's with the help of the spray. http://farm5.static.flickr.com/4086/4999125574_811bc0de8d_z.jpg
  21. Love the flames from the cutouts and the street exhaust, nasty ride.
