  1. Maybe take a look at the travel hacking thread.
  2. Here's what happened: http://www.slrlounge.com/news-adobe-creative-suite-cs2-is-not-for-free
  3. It was a pretty smart Trojan attack though... All the photography sites picked it up and shared it on FB. Shit goes viral; there were probably millions of downloads. At a certain point they changed the link from the real software to some host of trojans... Profit?
  4. Now if only someplace would just hand out free Razr phones and fifth gen iPods I could use the wayback website generator jump on the new site called "youtube" and feel exactly like I'm in 2005 again.
  5. This. And. I giggle when I see people complain about entitlements in advocation of free market principals... then complain when a business passes its expenses on to the consumer. You can't have it both ways.
  6. Mike C can probably get you Contol 4 gear if you want to get realer about it. If you want to get really real he can probably get AMX too. If I were to go the cheap route I'd wait a year when I'm quite sure inexpensive yet reliable automation via mobile devices will be a reality.
  7. I was heading South from Memphis during this. I usually go through Mobile; that televised tornado hit when I would have been driving through. We stopped in a hotel just north of Montgomery only to huddle in the lobby bathroom as a small tornado hit 3 miles south. It wasn't over hyped for us.
  8. I think there is going to be an intersection of big data and behavior prediction modeling. With a good percentage of our interactions being cataloged voluntarily, why wouldn't that data be surveyed for indicators of crazy.
  9. http://www.cnn.com/2012/12/14/us/connecticut-shooting-school-principal/index.html?hpt=hp_c2 What a fucking tragedy.
  10. I'd be on your team if we were talking school yard fist fights. It is a far leap from being a disrespectful prick, even taken to an extreme, to not valuing the life of innocent children. There is an intrinsic moral compass that compels 99.9% of humans to not kill. Training a human to kill typically takes a great deal of mental preparation (ie. armed forces) or a severe mental deficiency. Further, if we were to examine the demographics, I think you'd find far less "respect and manners" in poorer kids who don't seem to be the aggressors in these types of incidents.
  11. Why are these crimes most always perpetrated by white middle/upper class kids? I think that correlation is far stronger than gun ownership/violence which has been falling for 20 years. I'm all for "racially profiling" every nerdy looking white kid wearing black approaching any and all public places.
  12. I don't think manners cure what must be a severe mental health defect. Even the most hardened criminals have zero tolerance for harm to children. I think there is a correlation somewhere, but not there. And, I don't think it is going to be as obvious as one single culprit.
  13. Do you think there will be an increase in private schools that, in addition to superior academics, have on site tactical security for the school? I can say that it would be a selling point for me.
  14. I can't even imagine. I woke my little man up from a nap to hug him.
  15. Good info, everyone should be cognizant of this. In my early 20's I was dumb and failed to pay on my student loans for a while, that along with some medical bills sunk my score to the mid-low 500s. I used "WhyChat Credit Confusion" site to eliminate the medical collections. I consolidated and squared my student loan payments. For the most part, I became a credit abiding member of society. Within 4 years I was in the mid-600s and bought a house and a car. Now, I am in the mid-high 700s and can get approved for most anything. My most recent gains have been from increasing my revolving credit lines (over 200k) with at or near 0% utilization. I've gained about 30 points despite the hard pulls. \ With minimal work and attention most anyone living within their means should be able to do this, the benefits go far beyond the minimal amount of work to get there.
  16. Of course you would assume you know me steven. Before York Gym in Parma sold out it was all PL/BB guys. I can see exactly why you may have had a different experience with people accepting you and wanting to help. Cocky fucks who think they have the corner on good ideas have to figure out everything on their own... and get their gear in Mexico.
  17. I used to be a PL (in HS) now I'm doing distance running. My old PL self would place judgement on my new cardio hobby... Trying to break a 20m 5k. Plenty of wanna-be BB DBs with decent physiques have terrible form. Plenty of PL dudes suffer injuries from sacrificing form for big weight. So it goes. Some of these CF participants will become BB enthusiasts, some may even be attracted to the strength gains and become PLs. Just because CF is "entry level" for some doesnt make it inferior for all. When I see a fat person ruining in my neighborhood, I don't say "That dude has no chance"... I say "thank his Jesus that he is taking those first steps; good for fucking him." Every real BB, PL, or, while we're at it, racer, I've met, has been welcoming and understanding to the entry level. Isn't that interesting how that works? Those who have made it embrace the Noobs. Those who are somewhere in the middle are insecure and feel the need to defend their brand.
  18. I was surprised to see you put BB and PL in the same category. I guess theyve found a common enemy and united. Before CF the rivalry was between those two; again very different means to very different ends.
  19. BB to CF = Import to Domestic. Different goals, different methods, different results. Humans are a silly bunch aren't we? Instead of recognizing the vast amount of ground that is common we define ourselves by the subtle differences. Tribalism 4 life.
  20. yikes, I'd Sell my Jailbroken ATV2 with XBMC for $200.
  21. I would do top tier or not at all. Does your dream job require it? Paying 10-20k for some insignificant incremental step just doesn't make sense. I'd identify your dream job. Call up some whomever would be your direct report at a few target companies. Say "Hay Guy, I am interested and motivated to be a member of the XYZ team in ABC position. In your opinion, would an MBA from GHJ University make me a more desirable candidate? Is there anything else that would be a better investment of 2 years of my time?". People like to help people, and you'll be on his radar as a motivated person not afraid to call up a senior paper stacker and ask a direct question. But what do I know, I'm just a college drop out (who married an MBA).
  22. I've had no downsides, about 1 year so far. Not sure what you mean about ISP trouble, if you were to torrent, you should do so on a peerblocked or VPN computer, then have the ATV access it via your network.
  23. What made your old one look amazing vs. your current one?
  24. I honestly have no idea, my financial planner set it up it it draws automagically.
  25. Is your employment plan HSA eligilble? I assume you are young enough that contributions to an HSA would make more sense then paying more for insurance.
