$500-600 for an advanced orthopedic surgery concerns me. Any vet who is worth a damn on that surgery is going to charge at least $1500. You get what you pay for.

Ohio State for a TPLO or TTA. Orthopedics is a specialty that most veterinary general practitioners are only decent at. A real veterinary orthopedic surgeon has 4 additional years of orthopedic training as well other accreditations

So I don't think I have posted in this thread, but I'll share my progress. I decided to diet and do p90x starting weight April 8th 231 lbs Weight as of July 29th 197 lbs The only real strength gain I can quantify is on the chest and back routine on p90x. The first day I did 90 total pushups throughout the routine. On my last day of it I did a total of 205 pushups.

With the talk of Superconferences and the BCS running the playoffs, I could see it eventually happening. IMO that's why the NCAA didn't go as far as many expected. They knew that if they gave the actual death penalty WHILE overstepping their scope, that it would cause big problems sooner rather than later.

It's a problem because it can affect other institutions down the line. There are proper governing bodies to handle this situation and the NCAA is not the right one at this time. That would be the DoE and the DoJ. Rip away their federal funding for violating the Clery Act and put the criminals in jail. People lauding this NCAA punishment are praising empty sanctions. The problem was not confined to an athletic department, it was institution wide. What does punishing a football program do? The NCAA saw it as an opportunity at a power grab due to PSU agreeing to it, so they took the opportunity. No one is saying that PSU shouldn't be punished, but they should be punished correctly, not some stupid symbolic punishment that effectively changes the landscape of college athletics as we know it.

No, the precedent is set that the NCAA can impose sanctions outside of their bylaws. Them agreeing to not appeal does not change that, it changes the way appeals will be looked at in the future. I disagree. I think the NCAA will use it as a case to justify any and all sanctions from here on out, making appeals that much harder, and not just in cases of sanctions outside of bylaws.

Every opinion I have read from lawyers that deal with this kind of stuff say that PSU would have destroyed the NCAA in an appeal had they not blindly signed off on this beforehand.
