  1. I only thought Clemson would be 4 so they could get the rematch ratings in the first round.
  2. BTW a really good deep ball thrower is around 50% and anything above is considered "elite". Jake Browning hits close to 60%. So Barrett is near good when it comes to throwing to his top receiver, but on a total "not great" when it comes to the other receivers. His overall average including the outlier of 2015 is 36% and he is hitting 35% this year. On the other hand, Jalen Hurts is 6/20 on deep balls.
  3. You also seem to be ignoring that his TD-INT ratio on deep passes has exponentially increased.
  4. Yes. Because he had less than HALF the attempts of 2014 or 2016. There is a reason that many stats arent tracked until you pass a certain number of attempts.
  5. Anaysts scouts Urban Meyer all saying he is the best they have ever seen would mean he is the best in their lifetimes. Aka a once in a lifetime talent.
  6. Less interceptions now too. Devin Smith's Touchdown % was insane btw. He also averaged something like 38 yards per touchdown in 2014
  7. I guess every analyst and scout's opinion that he is the best they have ever seen at catching the deep ball means nothing. Lol. See how I did that? Just because others were capable, doesnt mean they were nearly as good. That's logic.
  8. He completed 34% of total deep balls in 2014, 35% in 2016. See how that goes UP? The total reception making up the 3% difference in the top receiver ISNT EVEN A WHOLE RECEPTION. aka statistically insignificant when there is no such thing as .5 receptions
  9. Ginn was more adept at taking a 15 yard slant to the house. Smith is the best we have ever had at catching a 30 yard bomb over his shoulder. That's why the averages are so different.
  10. No I'm not. His overall deep ball completion % is HIGHER than his 2014 season. He is .5 completions off of last year to his top receiver.
  11. None of those guys are within 10 yards of Smith's 2014 average per reception of 28 yards. Smith is #15 all time for career average and #8 all time for season average. That is all NCAA
  12. You know that 5/10 extrapolates to 7.5/15, so no, I wouldn't call it "regressing"
  13. AP poll just sent a message to the committee. OSU still #2, and the point gap between OSU and PSU (#5) is huge. The point gap between Washington (#4) and PSU is huge too
  14. Also I dont call going 5/10 to 7/15 "regressing". Especially when there were 33% more attempts
  15. Devin Smith was a once in a lifetime deep ball talent. Barrett's overall deep completion percentage is higher than 2014. 2015 is too small of a sample size.
  16. More on this. KJ Hill missed 5+ games with injury, was limited in many more, and has the 2nd most receptions by a pure WR this season. Highest YPR too.
  17. Pitt fans should be rejoicing today, they most likely single handily kept PSU out of the playoffs
  18. 1. Still a 39 point loss 2. Beat them by the same margin on a neutral field vs at Camp Randall. Advantage Buckeyes. 3. That margin won't come into play because.... 4. Ohio State has a top 10 OOC road thumping and Penn State has none.
  19. There was something out there that basically said a few of the receivers are totally trash and JT is fine throwing the deep ball. Let me find it Found it. First blurb https://www.google.com/amp/www.elevenwarriors.com/skull-sessions/2016/12/77552/skull-session-ohio-state-jt-barrett-deep-ball-greg-schiano-joey-bosa-noah-spence%3famp
  20. They still cant run the ball. Blacknall is just tearing up the Wisconsin secondary
  21. Ohio State beat OU in Norman. Its the best OOC win in the nation. Houston beat them at home.
  22. Penn State fans on Reddit all week talking about how their win against OSU wasn't a fluke and downvoting anyone who brought up their bye week or OSU's 2nd away game in a row. LOL. Now you see why OSU having played Wisconsin and PSU coming off a bye was such a huge advantage for PSU. Wisconsin is just physically beating the shit out of PSU
