Urban is a manager. The policy is clear that he is required to report it to HR. OSU is saying "well he misunderstood the policy which is why he didn't"

This is really bad. Neither reported it to HR like they were supposed to. Gene said he was unaware of ZS 2009 arrest. Both should be fired IMO

Today the investigation was wrapping up. Then the committee was meeting and compiling the report. Then the BoT will have a private session, which by law requires a 24 hour public notice of the meeting.

Because we are at the very minimum 24 hours from the BoT meeting.

Bottom line, Urban issues Performance Reviews, which means he manages staff. He is required to report it to HR within 5 days. PERIOD. It's then up to HR to determine if this falls within the scope.

Urban's requirement to report Smith isn't "debatable". It's in am OSU employee policy that every employee has to attest that they will abide by it

It's new sod from early June. I think the calls for Gene's head are way unfounded at this point in time. If OSU proves that Urban and Gene turned everything over to HR, then what? Still going to call for Gene's head? I can tell you right now, only Central HR has the power to fire someone at OSU, not Gene, not Urban. Even then, what if Gene decided, as a Senior Official of the University, that all these claims didn't rise to HR action, or maybe even they put ZSmith on a written warning, then what? Still Gene's fault? For what? Right now they are trying to figure out if Urban and the coaching staff knew anything more damning that what had been reported to Administration. Based on Urban's statement yesterday, it's clear he tried to play coy at Media days and was only referring to the supposed "arrest" that never happened, hoping that it would all go away in a few days.
