Depends on what you're into. Port Clinton, or anywhere up on the lake. Bed and breakfasts in almost any little town. Sugar Creek, which is Amish country. Could do the city thing in either Cinci or Cleveland. It's not Ohio, but Pittsburgh is 3.5 hours away, Indy 3.5 the other way. What do you like to do?

Oh, and if you want East Side as in Easton, I'm sure you already know everything there. But I just had dinner at the restaurant in the Hilton two weeks ago. Excellent food, very quiet and cozy atmosphere, and great service. I hear it's not typically crowded. It's the type of place I'd take family, grandparents, etc. Always worth a look.

Also, I dunno how "East Side" you want to be, but Giuseppe's Ritrovo in Bexley is fucking awesome for mega-upscale Italian. Very cool place. Just don't try getting in before 9PM on a weekend night. http://www.giuseppesritrovo.com/

There is always the Mad Greek on Main Street, which is awesome. Same owner as the Happy Greek in the Short North. Also try Butch's on Main for Italian, The Happy Dragon on Main in Reynoldsburg for Asian, and Massey's Pizza on Main for Pizza.
