  1. You can find someone from any place of education to explain just how much it sucks, and likewise you can find people that do nothing but praise it. I graduated DeVry in 2006 with my BSEE. Had a job lined up a month before I graduated (using DeVry's assistance) which pays very comfortably. Yes it was expensive, but when I broke it down, I paid less than a couple guys I graduated high school with who went to OSU for their "4-year" program. I was out in 3 years, with a job, with less debt with a specific degree. My buddies graduated eventually, without a job as their degrees were generic, and they have more debt.
  2. Reverse your question and ask yourself: Why is this guys life worth saving after attempting to take 2 lives previously, and succeeding in taking 1 womans life recently? Why is his life worth so much more than theirs? It's sad to hear people support the life of murderer's because they feel "killing someone" is out of the question. Ironic really. FWIW, I think eye-for-an-eye punishment should be law of the land. For some, life in prison is better than life on the streets. stricter/harsher punishment however could curb that enthusiasm.
  3. Not possible to impeach him based on misappropriation of funds is it? Bwahahahaha, who am I kidding.
  4. FWIW, I bought my wifes 2007 Eddie Bauer Explorer, with ~40,000 miles for $16,500. Fully loaded minus navigation system and heated seats.
  5. Chuck (real name Chester) 3/4 Chocolate, 1/4 Golden Retriever, and Turbo full blood yellow lab. http://i177.photobucket.com/albums/w239/D94R/IMGP1793.jpg
  6. Hah. We went to Gettysburg for a week as a kid. Got home and the pet hamster was MIA. Found it a week later, in the basement, on a top shelf above the washer, in a turned over empty bleach bottle. Sucker lived for another 2 years. Oh, and that Gecko is bad ass.
  7. Dangit, my bubble has been popped now! I didn't read the article, but any chance this phone won't be $400 with the damn upgrade will it? (can get the iPhone for $99 with upgrade now) No matter really though, I won't buy this phone immediately until all the bugs are worked out of it.
  8. Good deeds rarely go unpunished. Ever hear that before? Perfect example being what sciongirl posted. Stacey calling the cops was the best idea he had, and should have stopped there. Taking "a group of guys" to help this girl now makes them the aggressor to the people beating the girl. He's lucky he didn't shoot the guy, as the prosecutor/defense attorney for the guy beating the girl would have a field day with that one. Sadly, thats the way it usually turns out too. One, or a group of guys, go to help, situation snow balls out of control, and they are now responsible for elevating the situation to use of deadly force. Aside from the fact that just because someone who is 300lbs is "coming" at you, in no way justifies the use of deadly force yet. I think Stacey was lucky that the Cops recognized the real situation. Other states/cities he wouldn't be so lucky. He should have called the cops and watched what took place from inside through his window so he could fill out a full report.
  9. I don't want to like that car, but damn it, my buddy has a Suzuki, and well it's been damn reliable. Now, if it had a 2.0T, 6speed, and all wheel drive, it'd be a hell of a deal.
  10. Epic thread potential died at page 5 when they started arguing with themselves. Thread failed.
  11. Meh, don't like the looks. But, if I were shopping for a compact/midsize truck with a diesel, it'd be the Euro Ranger 100%. http://www.blogcdn.com/www.autoblog.com/media/2009/02/01-ford-ranger-geneva_580op.jpg 2010 Euro Ranger 3.0-liter Duratorq TDCi turbodiesel = 156 hp and 280 lb-ft of torque Now, if only we could get those here, I'd have one in a heart beat.
  12. How's the nuts feel after the immense reality cup-check?
  13. Until you're 21, ready to move out of your parents house. Only to discover you have no down payment for a nice house because you spent a serious chunk of cash on a car 2 years earlier. So you're then stuck to renting apartments which give you NO return on your investment. You haven't been been able to save any money since then too because you were working just to be able to sink your paycheck into your car to keep it in driveable condition. Plus you realize paying more a month for insurance on ONE car than some people make towards their financed cars lets you get nowhere ahead of yourself. It's about that time when you realize, had you listened when you were younger, to the ones who have already been there done that, that you'd be 1000 times better off if you didn't let your ego and immaturity do your check writing for you.
  14. Yup,... hit that 23-24 year age and you realize that, shit, all that money I wasted as a kid on an unreliable pile of junk could be used now to build a really nice and reliable street car. And then you realize that now, not only could you afford that upfront cost, but you can afford to upkeep it. Something that wasn't possible when younger because you'd blown all your money up front, and barely got by making the minimum upkeep cost's because that's all you could afford.
  15. Gotcha. And I agree. However, I as an American don't want to see the "President" fail (or the US for that matter), but I do want to see him fail. Not a personal issue against him, but more politically and idealistically as to how the government should be involved in my personal life. But that's getting away from the topic. I want world peace! Can I now please have my Nobel Peace Prize?
  16. You're right, they do make dual pillow top's. They also make single sided "non-flip" pillow tops. I only ever see the single sided ones though. But then again, I haven't shopped for a mattress but once.
  17. Costco has an ~18" (normal mattress thickness anyhow) Memory Foam mattress that is either $599 or $699. Not bad at all.
  18. Pillow top. Which are nice! That's what we have. HOWEVER, these lend to the bed being non-flippable. Something they usually actually advertise as an advantage, however it leaves you to 50% mattress life as you are not able to flip the mattress for constant and consistent wear... think of it like rotating tires. Look into the mom-n-pop type mattress places. They usually have the best deals. We bought out king size pillow top mattres and box spring for $499 two years ago. That's just,... well, gross. Traditional mattresses have a usable life span of 10 years. Not that they break down in that time. But you're laying on ~20yrs of dead skin, body fluids, dirt, and pretty much anything else you can think "lands" on your bed over that period of time. Its generally suggested to replace the mattress after that long for health reasons more than anything.
  19. We did almost set the atmosphere on fire though with hydrogen bomb testing. In a relative view.
  20. Yup, done in my back yard too (well, figuratively, it was on the other side of the mountain anyhow) Anyhow, I had nothing more to add other than I watched the live broadcast of this and was disappointed at the lack of seeing anything. I haven't searched youtube yet but are there any third party camera's that captured anything? Watching the camera go in and out of IR, then watching as the screen went blank upon impact was just lame, especially with the slow sampling rate they used for the video. I wanted to see some fucking impact and cloud from hell.... but got nothing.
  21. Yah, I had to laugh when I read he was: 19 wants to buy a mustang to mod to go fast, but can't afford the insurance on a Cobra pays out the ass in insurance because of points on his license (undoubtely most due to going FASTer than the law allows) wants to build something to go FASTER than his brother before he's 20 What the fuck is wrong with kids these days?
  22. Well, I don't instantly agree with safer and richer. But, one man failing doesn't mean a worse USA. It takes an astronomical amount of variables and situations for the USA to fail, not one person. Hell, can you really fail as a president anyhow,.... either stuff you want done gets done or it doesn't. Really, it would be the failure of the USA = the failure of the President, not the other way around. And I don't mean this as-in another depression would mean the president fails(ed) to keep us afloat. I mean it in a way that if the entire United States tanked into third world status, the placement, standing, and meaning of the president would no longer matter or exist as it does today. He would fail, we would fail with him, not because of him.

    Ruger P95?

At double the price! I concur though, don't think you can get much simpler than a Glock or XD for field stripping.
