  1. I believe in Ohio that Whatever the inspector charged for the inspection is his liability cap. If he or she charged $600 and later faults that would cost thousands to remedy are found, he can be sued for his original fee and not liable monetarily for more.
  2. Lower mileage Durango or higher? Transmission serviced with new fluid or original fluid? Trailer with electric brakes or relying on Durango? Towing mainly around flat areas or Appalachian mountains/ Rocky Mountains? Probably a good idea to address these issues before the vacation becomes a Roadkill episode.
  3. I’m guessing it’s erotic to you since you’ve brought it up again. I’m just pointing out the obvious, as above. Keep typing, your real self is coming out.
  4. “take it to the politics thread” and then your smart ass political comment the essential hypocrite move, do as I say not as I do.
  5. I believe he may be thinking about proposing to Geeto. The guess is that that Geeto’s calloused hands , that he states are from playing the guitar, are actually a direct result of Greg’s sandpaper dick. He’s just testing the waters. Just an observation
  6. Can’t you just get one of those Lepai mini amps and run your phone from RCA to whatever is on your phone? Leave the stock head unit in there and either run separate speaker wires. They have remotes and AM/FM and are usually around $40. They also have Bluetooth ones.
  7. Again this is assuming you can work on the car yourself, lots of people don’t have the time, space, skills,or tools to do so. Putting an ls1 in automatic Carrera without a kit and having it for my wife’s daily driver is no big deal to me, but it is for some. Porsche guys are like 3rd generation RX7 guys they love their rose colored glasses to look at their cars. They also won’t give you the true evaluation of the car, except for the fact that they love it.
  8. Again how many Porsche’s have you owned? Nothing like hearsay, like you say, to get the good info. 5% failure would be around 5000 failures in 996s. Like I said buy one and maybe you will get a good one, but as usual you make conclusions from internet education, very transparent.
  9. Yes you two suck dicks, I thought I had made that clear, but apparently not clear enough.
  10. Production numbers for these cars are very low, so yes it is rare in that sense, but much higher in a percentage game. Do you have a 996 or 7?
  11. There’s probably a ground by the battery that you possibly knocked off, or damaged when changing it. It probably all shares a ground up front like Cordell pointed out.
  12. Just wanted to inform from experience rather than internet wisdom like some. The 7k short block I didn’t know about, so that’s good info. I would certainly consider IMS upgrades and water pump and cooling fan resistors to a running car in good condition. The air cooled guys I know definitely said that their cars didn’t need as much attention as the water cooled 996 and 997. I’ve never had one and probably won’t, but they have a great following.
  13. I own a 997 turbo, a 996 convertible, and have owned a 996 turbo and 996 coupe. The 996 convertible now has an LS1 in it. Eye spy someone that doesn’t have a 996 or 997 don’t eye? Not fear mongering, just the facts that the 996s both had engine failure, the 996 turbo had the coolant tubes blow out and the cayenne turbo coolant tube failure twice, and starter failure from the coolant tube failure. After you get by the coolant issues, the 996s have failures that include radiators , headlight switches, cooling fan resistors and such. Definitely a better car with an LS1, as the rest of the car is pretty reliable. I have quite a few vehicles , and all are operational, the Porsche’s are definitely the most time consuming and costly to repair. Coolant tube repair on a 996 or 997 turbo rims about $5000 or so for a shop to do. Porsche owners defend their brand to the end, and will fix these cars and pay the money to do so, just because Porsche.I suggest you jump in you may get a good one, but it has been said before that there is nothing more expensive than a cheap Porsche.
  14. It’s more the ergonomics than the look IMO, the 996 interior doesn’t look bad, but it doesn’t feel as nice as the 997. Seating angles and accessory locations are better in the 997. The IMS issue is an issue that affects cars from 40,000 miles up with little or no warning. If not caught the timing chain breaks and takes out the block and makes it non rebuildable. Used engines are around $10,000, and new ones are $18,000 plus the core that needs to be rebuildable or the core will add another $18,000. Either way you look at it if the IMS fails and wraps the chain up it’s going to be more than the car is worth. The newer issue is the bore scuffing, which with a nikasil bore isnt good either, boring and replating, or complete rebuild which is $10,000 or so. Either way that’s part of the reason for the concern and car value, I wouldn’t own the car without IMS and cooling fan issues addressed.
  15. Yea since you’ve owned so many of them.
  16. Absolutely correct, teachers in schools teach about white priveledge and attempt to teach about racism in America. What they teach is the same rhetoric I see here, how white people are racist to other ethnicities, forgetting about black racism towards Asians, Asian towards blacks, Muslims to Jews and blacks towards whites. Liberals seem to forget that point, again the ignorance factor. These agendas are dangerous, and the people who believe them even more so. These people don’t want the truth, they thrive on this controversy, and let you know you are wrong, because they or something they read says so. Don’t forget to throw in how stupid you are, how smart they think they are, and something about them performing sexual assault on your mother while wondering how on earth would somebody threaten them and their family. Pompous ignorance at its best.
  17. Well again the real you comes out, and you wonder why people threaten you and your family? Who said anything about someone’s mom? Sounds like you’re the threatening one. Quite a piece of work. Your true colors show more and more, keep it up
  18. The media is absolutely biased, but only to your “team” so you can’t see it. That is ignorance, and there are many examples of this in the last 2 months. The prime example being high school kids waiting for the bus to pick them up, while bigots yell racial slurs at them. A 15 year old nervously smiles in front of a media camera that somehow missed all the proceedings, and calls it a taunting of a Native American. Death threats from Liberal fucks like yourself and the kids phone numbers and addresses were given. You people love to hide behind a veil of righteousness, but are definitely not well informed, but believe you are. The whole story comes out and any apologies given? Nope, not many from the mainstream media that persecuted them for their MAGA hats. Bigotry again at its best, keep up the ignorance!
  19. Michael Brown the black man who robbed a convenience store and didn’t listen to the cops and grabbed for their gun while not listening. You should give up everything you have to a black family for reparations, Poor gay black man not getting enough money, I would consider this a hate crime it definitely fits . Don’t worry you won’t hear much more from all that backed him, as you can see above he has a pass for his bigotry
  20. If you enjoy stress free, then your father was right. It’s pretty much another job, unless you hire somebody. You better have good faith in the property manager you hire, and read the fine print of the contract, as they don’t have as much invested as you. Getting non commercial deadbeat renters out of your property is another job and lengthy process within itself. A 50k investment property probably won’t attract renters that have plentiful bank accounts. You very rarely go wrong with paying off debts, and like has been said before 2.5% is net $1250 year and better than nothing for the time being.
  21. Well, I suggest you surrender all of your belongings to the native Americans, all of it, and let me know when you do that, probably the right thing to do. Maybe you can walk to Mexico and climb over the wall and live there.
  22. Stupid Chinese with their barrier, stupid chain link fences people buy for security, stupid garage doors for buildings, stupid locks, nothing but magic beans are effective. You have a poor argument period.
  23. Thanks for pointing that out, I will correct my ignorance, the real question is can you correct yours?
