The emphasis should be place more on length of stroke rather than overall displacement. The stroke will cause more breaking than anything else. -- Oh and quench... you cant be running thedish on the deck because at 6000rpms, you can beat your ass those pistons are kissing the heads.

yea its just like a 1/4 pipe... I dont understand whats so fasinating.... a metalic disk spun to speed, then dropped on the floor. Its rotational inertia (gyroscopic effect) keeping it upright and friction aidding in acceleration. They move forward, redirected up ward by some fillet shapped surface... and then they fall back down. What am i missing?

40-55 is usualy the best range for any 2nd/3rd gear take off.... like on my S40, 40 is right at about 3800 in 2nd... perfect for throttle response... even for a turbo car. however, on my Z24, 40 was at almost 5,000rpm in 2nd... it had short gears so a 55mph roll was nice in 3rd gear, around 3500rpm. Most cars fall in that braket. Hondas do the 20mph thing because thats the upperend of 1st gear... veetax pWn3s j00!@11!!!

if i remember right, he walked away with a mere headache... but it was about 3yrs ago when i saw it.

i can think of about 10 really fast cars from 50 or so MPH... i wouldnt have the slightest clue as to what order theyd be in though.
