If you took the valve cover off you will know if the timing chain is broken. Think about it. If it has a bad distributor gear, that one is pretty easy too. At what RPM in third? What is your pressure when running through the gears? If you don't have any problem at any RPM in first or second, that sounds funny to me.

It will hold up better than the stock For dunit, but if still has clutches, and they will wear out. I ran one in my Lincoln, and was rough with it, and it is still holding up. It will be tested more thoroughly in the next few months.
