Team CR, the PERFECT time for the NEOhio meet and Greet
ohioko4s4 replied to coltboostin's topic in Dumpster
1) Because we just thought of inviting you guys yesterday; 2) We weren't sure if there were any operative high hp cars in Columbus; 3) None of you will probably come anyway Does that answer your question? -
John, why don't some of you guys come on up Sat night? Or maybe Sunday night too. Be sure to bring one of the IPS cars
-
Jeff, I have watched you tirelessly take personal shots at JP and/or respond negatively to every single fucking post that kid has ever made for months. Until recently I have stayed out of it. But I have no problem sticking up for someone who is a decent kid. Hell I don't even know him that well, but he always seems to back his talk up and for that, I respect him. You, on the other hand, believe your shit doesn't stink and it's your arrogance that I and others don't like. The only negative post in this entire thread is from you. Your little e-thug persona is a tired record. As for betting you a $1k that the car will be ready to race by 7/1, I'm not going to do that. You'll get the car done whenever you feel like it. And since a $1k is a lot of money to you, I'm sure you won't miss the deadline. I feel my offer was fair - forfeit the $100 deposit if the race doesn't happen by x/xx. Since the car is running, 5 weeks should be no problem. Just step up and agree to a date. I have worked with shops on more complex builds than John's set-up and it has never taken this long. But I guess being a bit scared is good
-
I tried to recently set a "no later date" of 7/4 but John politely declined. So how about you pay John his $100 forfeit money to me if you guys aren't ready to roll with JP by July 4th? Since you were willing to put a $1k down, this should be a no brainer.
-
The first sign of amateur hour is a shop talking shit about a car that isn't even running. You're right, good work does take time. But 8 months? Well, at least there is no excuse for anything to go wrong:) Anyone willing to make a side bet John's car doesn't see a race until after 7/1?
-
I think we're talking about the same car...I thought it was a C5. They dyno'd 772 on "low boost" but when they cranked it up for the q-mile, it still only trapped 151. But we only know what they printed and I doubt LPE left anything on the table for a worldwide magazine. Then it broke on the 2nd pass.
-
To even compare Lingenfelter's experience building high HP vettes with your shop is pretty ambitious. But I like that - we all need to set high goals in life. Second, correct me if I'm wrong, but I have never seen a STREET 6-sp C5 (even tubbed with a fully built rear end, slicks and a good driver) trap higher than mid 150's. I thought I read about something in the 155 range, but perhaps it was 152 like the video you showed. Didn't Motor Trend show a 151 pass on DR's last month with their $225k+ 7L 1000hp vette? Automatic E.T.'s mean nothing...that's not the race we're running. Like I said Jeff, you better set some world records to beat JP's POS. All sandbagging aside, if you think beating 148 will win the bet, you will be sorely mistaken. Since you are so confident in your GT35's, maybe John can get you to take a $1k off his bill if he loses..... John, as you know, I have no problem with you now. However, it is frustrating when your shop talks smack all day when they should be working on finishing your car so we can put an end to all this keyboard racing. I'm ready to run you. JP is ready to run you. We're all waiting to have some fun
-
Thanks for the advice, but somehow I have managed to do ok without your helpful sidebars. Just get John's car done before summer is over. For all the time you are holding on to it, it better set some world records. Anything less and...well...we'll save those comments for later
-
Who cares? Just get John's car done...JP is waiting....
-
Do you have a 15x slip or are you basing your traps off other single/twin viper set-ups? I'm not being a dick, just there is a big difference between the two. And who cares about octane....it's like saying he's doing it on less than half the motor you have Look forward to you seeing your Viper sometime soon.
-
John, I sent you a pm. Let's try to set an approximate date later this summer that we can get everyone together.
-
The fun part is although JP doesn't have a sandbagging bone is his little 90 lb body, no one will know what his car will really run until he lines up with John....
-
Impossible.....but I am looking forward to when he starts to really turn it up. John, any idea when your car going to be ready?
-
I agree Sam. But we all bitched and moaned all winter long to get these two together, so let's make this happen before anything else. Again, it has nothing to do with JP breaking anything as that will probably happen regardless of who he runs (although I would prefer JP to keep a low profile until he runs John, but obviously that's not happening . I'll let the two of you workout the specifics, but like you, he's never backed down from race. So I'm sure it will happen right after he runs John. Plan on coming up sometime in June. PM me and we'll make sure we have a good group show up.
-
Stop with the excuses...just get it done.
-
You've had John's car for a long time. Stop paying attention to these forums and get it done. We're all waiting.
-
No one is sandbagging. Didn't you see JP posting his races already and giving the specs of the cars he's running? He has been running his car almost everyday. Given the uncertainty of IPS finishing John's car in a timely manner, I would like JP to take it easy so he in fact doesn't blow anything up before hooking up with John. We all know the quality of the parts in the car As I stated before, John will be the first Columbus race for JP. So at this point, we're just waiting on John's car. Sam, I'm sure JP and others will run you at the track too. But let's get JP and John together first. Then I'm sure the others will be waiting in line to have a "shot" at him. But yes, let's get together in June regardless.
-
Interesting idea, but JP isn't going to run anyone from Columbus balls out prior to running John. Maybe if JP and John agree to change the highway money race to Norwalk....that might be an idea. It's up to JP and John. But coming on up to bullshit is a good idea regardless.
-
If JP does it within a legal sanctioned event, would you accept the bet?
-
I think JP meant Scott's Supra.
-
You should know better than to assume since your hp/weight ratio is better, that you'll win the race. That's only one variable.....
-
Ok, you got me typing too fast on my BB. I stand corrected.
-
Wow Colt had everyone duped until you came on here. You're a fucking genius.
-
From 60-180? I'll take it. But let's make it an even $100.
-
And that's almost exactly what I said in my post, except Derek, I will spell it out for you....I know for certain that your car is not faster than the Colt.
