  1. Who has one and how much do they charge to flow a pair of V6 heads? Anyone have one that is willing to rent time on?
  2. For those that want larger pictures, just click the image and download the fullsize. Wish I had room for another project, looks clean!
  3. I finally found a dually to replace her. Giving her one more shot here before craigslist. $2500
  4. http://i157.photobucket.com/albums/t55/tinman_015/img049.jpg Help us with a great cause. Don't worry if your car or bike isn't perfect, I'm sure I'll have the ugliest car there.
  5. Copied and pasted from an email circulating around, First, I want to correct something I reported in an earlier update. The new manager, Todd Karom, is still in that position. But it is tentative. This should be no reflection on his capabilities, simply a statement of fact since not all the decisions have been made at this time. Todd's contact info is: 216-224-6901 info@motoseries.com Second, future updates will be found at http://www.kryderacing.com and http://www.mvscca.org. Requests have made for an incredibly large mailing list. Please spread this message since I am not even going to attempt to include everyone. Please remember that I am trying to stick to the facts and not start rumors. Adding your own interpretations to these reports should be avoided. I am still trying to find out who reported the track's closing was due to a motorcycle rider being killed - it was totally false. Yesterday (Saturday, May 24), Sandi and I went to the track. We needed to pick up some gas for a client and we had been informed a few of the people involved in what was happening might be meeting at the track. We didn't know what time they were meeting so we simply hung around visiting some friends. Early in the afternoon property owner Marv Drucker and his son (Rick) arrived. Discussions included the two of them, Sandi and I, Scott Lane, and a couple of other individuals. Rick, Scott, and I inspected the track. There was one (maybe a second) area which would need more than a simple patch. There were other areas where patches would be sufficient. This was the minimum work deemed necessary in order to hold competitive events on the track. Most of the rest of the meeting could be split into two general categories: short- and long-term needs. The short-term focus was on what needs to be done to get the track operating ASAP and minimize disruption of 2014 events currently scheduled. Long-term discussions focused on a total repaving and how best to accomplish it. Selling the track also was mentioned as a possibility. One major challenge to accomplishing the short term goals is spending a sizable amount on the one (or two) pavement repair areas, only to have it all torn up when a total repaving was done. Finding funds is only one part of finding a solution. Spending those funds wisely is something requiring planning. While no one wants to give up anything which is already scheduled, no one wants to simply put a band-aid on the problem in order to hold near-future events and possibly jeopardize long-term survival. These are not easy problems to solve. What was solved Saturday was a better understanding of the questions which need answering. For example: how long would it take for the short-term repairs to be made? Without firm answers to these questions, making a decision on how to proceed is impossible. Several of us are trying to answer these questions and we plan on sharing what we find in the next couple of days. I will post an update at that time. I will be providing additional contact information to the groups with events scheduled in June. Enjoy Memorial Day, Reed Kryder
  6. 1995 Dodge 2500 SLT 2wd automatic with towing package 148,xxx miles. The only reason I am selling this truck is to upgrade to a 34'+ gooseneck trailer. I looked into doing a dually conversion but it just doesn't add up so I'm hoping to find her a good home. Originally purchased by my father for his daily driver and to tow his boat. She was passed down to me a few years ago and has served as my tow vehicle since. She has taken my old 30' enclosed tag filled with two cars, spares and tools all over the East coast and never broke a sweat. 300hp and 450ft.lbs. will move some weight up the highway. Mechanically she has been outstanding needing only regular maintenance, metal brake lines from the distribution block on, and an intake manifold gasket that was replaced due to a recall before any problems arose early in her life. Currently she has some minor issues. The A/C compressor was replaced but the system has not yet been recharged. One of the valve stems has a slow leak. The brake and ABS dash lights are on, usually caused by a faulty rear wheel speed sensor. And there is a slow drain on the battery I think from the trailer brake controller. If it sits for more than two weeks the battery won't have enough juice to start her. Cosmetically she is not in as good condition. Two major problems, the paint is just plain falling off of any horizontal surface and creeping Southward. And she suffers what many Dodge's of this generation do, bottoms of the doors are rusting out. It's a shame because underneath she is surprisingly clean for an Ohio truck. The interior is very decent except for a cracked dash pad. The towing mirrors are aftermarket and not power but the factory power mirrors are included. http://i157.photobucket.com/albums/t55/tinman_015/photo2.jpg http://i157.photobucket.com/albums/t55/tinman_015/photo3-1.jpg http://i157.photobucket.com/albums/t55/tinman_015/photo4.jpg http://i157.photobucket.com/albums/t55/tinman_015/photo5.jpg http://i157.photobucket.com/albums/t55/tinman_015/photo21.jpg http://i157.photobucket.com/albums/t55/tinman_015/photo31.jpg Asking $2700 and pretty firm on this price. Trades will be considered but not likely.

  8. It does have heat but the fan does not push a lot of air. I appoligize, I forgot to mention it needs motor mounts, I have replacements but they are not in at this time. It still drives but the motor is shifted in the bay.
  9. http://columbus.craigslist.org/cto/4195405752.html $600 CR price. Long story short, Girlfriend bought this off our neighbor for her son's first truck. Said son flatspots the tires on her car, truck goes bye bye, she gets new tires. I can text more pictures to interested parties.
  10. Thank you very much for the kind words everyone.
  11. I have an extra and I'm trying to make room in my garage, how convenient. Nice, sturdy 4 leg model that I can't remember where I bought but it looks like Harbor Freight orange. $30 pick up in Johnstown, sound reasonable?
  12. http://columbus.craigslist.org/pts/3858014214.html Come get these out of my garage!
  13. http://i157.photobucket.com/albums/t55/tinman_015/Volvo740TurboWagonAd1989.jpg I've never hauled a trailer with a Countach but I imagine driving my Volvo wagon was the exact same experience in no way what so ever... I still dug it. http://i157.photobucket.com/albums/t55/tinman_015/100_1798s.jpg
  14. Asked Sean about the title and Carfax, here is his reply, Yes, I own the car outright and it is not a salvage title. The carfax will display a collision ~5 years or so ago when the car was hit in the front. The front core support had to be replaced and was done professionally... all the headlights sit normal, the hood closes, and no alignment issues. If I had the extra cash or less projects going on, this would be in my driveway and not on here. I'm just hoping to help Sean find a good home for it.
  15. Posting for a friend. He can be contacted at sean.mcintyre389@gmail.com http://i157.photobucket.com/albums/t55/tinman_015/Resampled_2013-04-28_18-50-27_1.jpg http://i157.photobucket.com/albums/t55/tinman_015/Resampled_2013-04-28_18-49-13_426.jpg http://i157.photobucket.com/albums/t55/tinman_015/Resampled_2013-04-28_18-48-58_738.jpg http://i157.photobucket.com/albums/t55/tinman_015/Resampled_2013-04-28_18-51-12_658.jpg http://i157.photobucket.com/albums/t55/tinman_015/Resampled_2013-04-28_18-48-29_509.jpg http://i157.photobucket.com/albums/t55/tinman_015/2013-04-28_18-49-29_207.jpg http://i157.photobucket.com/albums/t55/tinman_015/res.jpg The good: - Working AC - 116k miles. Clutch grabs fine and no grinds in transmission - Non-smoker - Clean interior - Power locks, windows, etc - Pioneer mp3 head with 4 ~220watt speakers - Carbon fiber hood with working locks - KYB AGX shocks with H&R sport springs - Enkei wheels - Air intake w/ AEM filter, 4-1 exhaust manifold, stock exhaust (quiet) - Water pump and timing belt replaced at 100k miles - Distributor, ignition wires, fuel pump, starter, main fuel relay, radiator all replaced 10k miles ago - Rear brake lines replaced with new 500 miles ago The bad: - Rust on passenger quarter panel and some spots on driver's side - Paint needs buffed and/or repainted in some spots - Needs new brake rotors - Rear window has "JDM fog" tint. I removed tint layer and part of glue layer but some remains - Sun roof does not retract. Needs the clutch reset or motor replaced - Some suspension squeaks - Camber may need adjusted - Passenger's side key does not work, but the handle does. Reason for selling: - I don't have time to work on it any more due to family issues and new employment. The car runs fine and would be nice for track days. Additional notes: - Car had front core support professionally replaced 20k miles ago Price: $2500 OBO
  16. One of the many reasons I enjoy doing a trackday between races. Some of the guys in ubber expensive rides get butthurt, some are actually pretty cool. ADHD fast forward too 2:40 This guy was on the cooler side. The 430 Challenge car above was one of many awesome cars in his collection.
  17. In my opinion 3 run groups would still be fine with 100 drivers. That would put roughly half of the number cars on track compared to a normal race group. There are more safe point by zones at Mid Ohio compared to Nelson or Putnam so bunching up should not be even a slight concern with only 30-40 cars on track. I would suggest the organizers stop by Mid Ohio during a NASA weekend to see how they organize the pre grid for HPDE drivers. They do a very good job, with cooperation of the drivers, to put the faster drivers in the front of the grid and get the cars on track in a fairly tight bunch for the yellow flag lap. This allows the field to gradually spread out and there is not a lot of passing needed.
  18. PM me or post a picture or eight. If the manifold is of poor design or craftsmanship you will be having it patched until you breakdown and spend the same money on a new one as you had patching it a few times. If it is a simple overlook in design with a reasonable fix you could be golden with just one more trip to a welder/fabricator. Either I, Alex, or any other experienced welder can fix it for you. Just let us lead you in the proper direction. No one wants to see you taking your manifold in for repair every other month.
  19. Possibly. I have an extra set of 3.8 coils, all known to be good. Not sure if they are they are from a S/C or N/A but I don't think there is a difference. Nate would know for sure.
  20. Approved only if you take it to a real track, you know, with corners and such.
  21. So, tell us one thing, just one little thing, that a rotary engine can do that a piston engine can't do better.
  22. I am absolutely obsessed with anything related to the Cannon Ball Sea to Shining Sea and U.S. Express races and have been waiting years for this film to finally be released. 32 hours and 7 minutes, not a comedy based off of the Cannon Ball Run but actual footage and interviews of the drivers that participated in the U.S. Express races. On the downside, a large portion of the movie is about the douche bag Alex Roy's attempts, still well worth watching. http://gravidfilms.createsend1.com/t/ViewEmail/y/3B742A2281F958C3/FADE84E080B07E5E2540EF23F30FEDED
