  1. yea ive been riding for a while..worked at ask 3yrs ago the summer i graduated HS, restored a 86honda night hawk and had a 2002gsxr750. from what ive heard( not alot...)r1 is nice. speed is fun, and of course digs and what not, but ill about the twisties in the country...past morse rd style. and im on a budget... i might need to start looking at wrecked bikes, or atleast laid down. ill flat black the ferrings(sp) if i have to.. anyway thatks for the websites.
  2. im looking a buying a sport bike in the 1000 range from this generation or the previous generation....does anyone have a site that will give an across the board comparison of hondas, yammys, suzies and kawies? -Brian
  3. on thurs i test drove a 97 prelude that was automatic w/manumatic. it was pretty smooth, a little less power than i expected. but what really got mewas the head room. im 6'1-6'2 and i felt like i was ducking in there. pluss the field of vision was lowered. just not ment for tall guys? other than that, for 133k mi the engine was solid and the car was well taken care of. ive thought about GTP's before, but im trying to stick w/ n/a....get every mile possible out of the engine. plus save on shit gas
  4. My little brother is going to college in the fall and needs a car. looking to spend 8k or under for a RELIABLE yet fun car to last him for atleast 4years or how ever long it takes him to graduate. i was thinking last gen. 98-99 Prelude. we looked at an type2(C32A) 95 acura ledgend w 74,000mi, origianl owner, leather, non smoker, moon roof for 7800..blue book has it at 8200-8400 suggestions? also ive heard of kits where you obtain an oil sample from the car in question and mail it to X lab, and they will give you specs about wear and tear on the engine. any truth to that, and if so where can i get a kit
  5. thanks for the warning on D'arbanville. i registered for classes at cscc w/o considering any difference between teachers. speech was one of the GRC's im taking this quarter, after reading this post, i went back and made sure i didnt have her.

  10. ok, so 5years ago i got my first bike. an 86 honda 450nighthawk. first bike and first rebuild. i had a blast putting it together and riding it. im looking to build or alter a bike into an oldschool 60's 70's chopper. not this bullshit stuff thats on TV but a real bike. im taking to the guys at rice patty on campus, but other than them, i dont have any contacts. has anyone owned, build or had expreiecne in building a chopper and if so what would be a good bike to start with?
  11. I remeber something in 2002-2003 being said about an LS7 in the 05vets. since then i havent heard much about it, either because there was nothing to hear or i didnt have my ear to the ground i dont know, but watching the "nascar coverage" of the autoshow on sunday, i heard a half blurb about an LS7 coming in the new zo6. anytruth or any thing seen from people who were up in debt-roit?
  12. haha yea i know, but i guess the system works... im afraid of the cameras that you always see on the news, the ones that seem to be up a 1/8-1/4mi away from the intersection....i know the UK has had this technology for a while. im not sure bout the US
  13. What is the deal with intersection cameras at the tops of the light posts? Are they on all the time? are there actually people wathcing, or are they just snapping consecutive shots from when the light turns yellow till a couple seconds after it turns red? what will they get you for and what wont they? so on and so on...if anyone knows anything about them. this was sparked by rushing to a meeting today and the only thing that stoped me from turning right at a redlight with a posted "no turn on red sign" was the newly installed camera staring me down from above...
  14. right, and im the one whose flipping up my short sleves..
  15. they are not policing, they are mercenaries. and its not that i dont agree with the use of force, by all means use it...one of the things i admire about canada is no brutality laws. dose that mean mounties are Rodney King'ing everyone? no. its called exercising with due regard, something that saves your and my ass here in the states, and what the so called police have never heard of.
  16. yet another reason why i dont live in "Germany" or anywhere near eastern europe

  20. personal electric heaters are the way to go if you need to warm up for a few...grab a new one for 20-30$ and run it when you need to.. just dont fall asleep with it on. and forgetkerosene heaters...to much trouble and columbusFD has ran on alot of fires thanks to 'em. an alternative: congregating a bakers dosen of fat chicks in one room, and you've got yourself a six-ton-sauna -be weary of open flames
