Looked like a short free fall time...how many ft AGL did you pull the ripcord? I've only done 1 AFF @275lbs & i know how hard it was for the sub 175lb instructors to keep up with me...ended up doing the same thing you did. I lost one, hung with the 2nd instructor for a bit but felt like things were getting out of my control so I just pulled early. Even with the premature waveoff & pull we still hit 150mph.

uhh, well, yea that thing is a pile. What's the backstory? Go over it with a fine tooth brushing device before deeming it roadworthy. Looks like the fuel tank is newer, so hopefully no rust inside but I can only imagine the condition of the brake lines.

Dry needling is taking off here in the western US. It's not like really acupuncture but they do use the same needles. The idea of dry needling is use a very thin monofilament needle to go in to a trigger point (or a painful muscle knot), cause a local contraction over a few seconds and the the muscle "resets" and relaxes. It's not at all painful just potentially cramping while that muscle gets stimulated. It's like a massage from the inside but instead of trying to break up that muscle knot with pressure going through all the tissue above the knot, dry needling hits the knot directly. My wife got trained on it as required by the PT outfit she got her job after we moved out here. She's done it on me and probably over 100 of her patients in the past 3.5 months. None of her patients were worse afterwards, maybe 10% had no change and the rest had varied levels of improvement. When used in conjunction with physical therapy it get's the patient more functional in a shorter amount of time. Just another option to look into. http://www.kinetacore.com/physical-therapy/Overview-of-Dry-Needling-Functional-Dry-Needling-Courses/page150.html

this x1,000,000 the rather unfortunate truth is that surgery related to back pain often does not relieve the pain/discomfort or even get the patient to an acceptable pain level. Additionally patients who've had more than one surgery to treat chronic back pain have abysmal success rates. Often times the hardest thing for people to do is make a lifestyle change in relation to their medical condition. In an effort to avoid changing their lifestyle i feel some people turn towards surgery & chronic narcotic pain rx use. Patients are often required to try physical therapy prior to surgery but often times they don't actually put forth appropriate effort nor do they continue the strengthening once discharge from PT. I'm not trying to knock anyone who has had back sx and each case & patients' circumstances are unique. That being said I would recommend a strong and consistent attempt at strengthening the back muscles & cutting weight before jumping into other options....it could be something remedied by simple prone exercises a few times a week.

What did your wife say the cop said when she got pulled over? Despite this sucking for you and your wife I support the idea of this. It's always annoying to have traffic bunched up around a cop car since everyone is scared to drive any faster than the cop, even if that means going slower than the speed limit. I understand why people do it but, in my experiences, its unnecessary with CPD guys. Just like getting clocked at 5 mph over the speed limit typically does not result in a ticket. -

5-7 years ago I got a ticketed for a "California roll", went in front of the judge & got it knocked down to a non-moving violation. With the reduced charge came a reduced fine but with court costs I still ended up paying about the same. Of course I save $ by not collecting any points. The whole process took less than an hour in Franklin Co & I got to el oh el at people showing up to a court hearing in sweat pants. -

Buying advice: 05 forester xt v. Little brother
Sturg1647545502 replied to Ramsey's topic in Passing Lane
I've bought an 05 Forester XT over the summer...just looked for the standard nickle & dime shit (leaks, CV boot conditions) Like most turbo's burning oil through the turbo seals is potential problem if it's on it's way out so look for that. and like all AWD you'll want to see the condition of the differential fluid. at 115k hopefully the water pump & timing belt have been done. The one thing specific to subaru's 2.5's NA or turbo is the head gasket is pretty weak. Ask if thats been done already. EDIT: Also check to make sure there are no sheryl crow albums, hemp necklaces, stray birkenstocks or patchouli incense sticks in or around the vehicle. -
What kind of nursing does she want to get into? What ever that is start applying for aid positions in her field of interest. If she's not set on anything i'd encourage her to start perusing the major hospital want ads (OSU, Children's, Ohiohealth & Mount Carmel) and get an aid job on a floor. If she has her STNA & CPR that will help with the process. Getting a medical job before you graduate is really important. It might not be her dream job but at this point it's all about getting her foot in the door. If she wants to utilize her LPN when she get it her choices are limited (as mentioned previously). She could get a job at a nursing home or maybe some sort of state/county job passing meds (jails? psych facilities? i really dont know). To echo the above, LPNs have been getting phased out for quite some time. Getting her RN is really necessary and most hospitals want their RNs to have a Bachelor's upon hire or within X years of hire. Just like any career it's all about who you know, so get an aid job in a hospital, work hard, be nice and make sure you remind your manager that you'll be looking for a nursing job in a few years. It's really hard to get the nursing job you want fresh out of school, much less without any medical experience. Now is the time to start planting those seeds. If you need any more advice feel free to PM me.

Before moving I worked in the ER at Mount Carmel West for a few years. We saw so many heroin /IV drug related medical problems & tons of patients drug seeking for narcotics. Unfortunately I could write a novel about my experiences & the pure distain I have for anyone involved with heroin. ugh, i'm getting annoyed just thinking about it.
