  1. Braxtons' injuries 2011- ankle sprain; didn't finish Nebraska game 2012-neck injury, didnt finish Purdue game 2012-hit head on equipment case on the sidelines of the Mich State game. sat out & returned only to injure his knee & sit out again. he did finish the game. 2013-Knee sprain vs Saint Diego (the wales vagina); left that game early on & missed 2 additional games 2013- Orange Bowl on the 1st possession injures his shoulder. 2014- After having surgery in Feb, had a no contact spring practice, sat out multiple days with additional shoulder soreness in July & August then fully tears his shoulder by throwing a short pass. And apparently he suffered a broken leg in high school, unknown cause. ha,I value a select amount of other opinions. But of course you smile, ask questions, put your hand on their shoulder, say "yes please tell me about all the stuff you kids does that you think is so cute" and they never know the difference. Anyways I like speculation as much as the next guy but until Barrett gets some reps over the next month we won't know much other than "he's progressing nicely". But there are additional obstacles to overcome. -It doesn't sound like Barrett is the 'ol razzle-dazzle scrambling QB that OSU has grown accustomed to... -Gone are 4 senior O lineman from last year, Philly Brown & Carlos Hyde. -And of course the lackluster Defense that's been problematic over the past few years. I just hope its not a year of "we're waiting for someone to step up".
  2. I'd recommend getting fit for a bike first. Hit up a bike shop during slow hours, tell them you're considering a bike but you would like to get fit for one first. try a couple styles of road bikes & see what you like. Trying to buy a bike unfitted is like trying to buy a pair of pants with out knowing your waste size & inseam. And a lot of discomfort can come from an improperly sized bike...shit a lot of discomfort comes with a properly sized bike. Keep in mind that you'll be bent over in a few similar positions for hours at a time. The more comfortable ( or rather the less uncomfortable) you are on rides, the longer & more often you'll go. Once you know what size bike you're looking for start perusing craigslist & local bike shops. Be patient, a lot of people buy top of the line bikes each that end up not riding them in the following years...then they show up on craigslist. Keep in mind that just like garment manufactures, a size on one bike might be a little different than the same size on another brand of bike. I'm a proponent of buying something inexpensive at first. You can always upgrade later. Again, a lot of people will spend 4 figures on a bike right out the gate only to let it collect dust in the garage the following years. Remember that the bike is only as fast as it's rider. for instance i've been an avid rider my entire life & i'm running around on a 10 year old bike i bought used for $300 for in college. I've done thousands of miles with only spending money on general maintenance & buying a set of nice wheels 2 years ago after I cracked the original front rim (but even then I bought the previous years model of ksyrium elite's and paid 1/2 of what a new set costs). also keep in mind that most bikes won't come with pedals, so you'll be spending more money on pedals, shoes, gloves, shorts & jersey's; it can get expensive quick. Just like any other hobby you can spend as little or as much as you want. That being said my dad actually sent me an article today about how the cost of new bikes have dramatically increased over the past 30 years. The WSJ story "Rise of the Five-Figure Bicycle" starts off about a dude that drives a 7 year old honda civic but spend $20,000 on a bike! I goeso n to cite that the avg cost of a new bike at specialty shops is over $1,000 and that most brands have multiple bikes for over $10,000 anyways best of luck in your search. TLDR; get fit & buy used.
  3. I'm incredibly saddened to hear this. After working in medicine for a while I know that it would be wrong to assume what you're going through or try and tell you how you should be feeling. However, one thing I can tell you is that you're surrounded by a huge support system here on CR & that we take care of each other in times of need. I include my self in that support structure. Please know that I'll be thinking about you & that you have friends who are ready to meet any needs you may have. And this being CR, sexual needs are notwithstanding.
  4. Wow that's terrible. But i have faith that once you move past this you find something better and bigger!

  6. Looks good. The real challenge comes when smoking proteins that are naturally low in fat. For instance we smoked beer-can quail and they still turned out dry. We figured out that bacon wraps around anything & not only adds deliciousness but helps combat dryness ( IE venison back-straps wrapped in bacon). Jury is still out on if bacon helps with vaginal dryness & discomfort.

  8. I've never had the desire to go on safari but now I kind of want to; sounds like you had a fantastic trip! And jajajaja at all the butthurt.

  10. I hit a drunk freshman jaywalking on campus after the Michigan game. I had no ALCOHOL on board & made an attempt to not hit him while braking. I was driving in the road where I was supposed to be & he was walking in the road where he wasn't supposed to be. He got a ticket for jaywalking & trip to the EMERGENCY DEPARTMENT(was fine). I got to talk to COLUMBUS POLICE DEPARTMENT about how freshman can't handle their ALCOHOL & can't believe there aren't more instances like this. That's how it works.
  11. Also best sign so far is just outside of Peoria. http://i277.photobucket.com/albums/kk57/snowdoc83/Mobile%20Uploads/2014-08-10%2014.19.05_zpscyhhegpe.jpg
  12. Any advice on what to see in either the badlands or around mt. Rushmore?
  13. Thanks for all the good juju. Packed moved & unpacked everything out of the apartment & storage facility yesterday. 2 bedroom, 2 bath, 2 car garage worth of stuff into a 14x8x9 space. Tetris champion. We roll out Sunday morning!

  15. Yea, I'd probably offer about 1/2 off what he wants. I feel bad for the kid; he bought a.dicey car 10mo ago & wants to unload it.
  16. <<< Former STI stage 1 owner ( back when i first got hooked up with CR). I likes me some subaru. So I just met up with the owner of this XT & took it on a test drive. http://columbus.craigslist.org/cto/4547304069.html Sounds good, pull well & the current owner is really meticulous but the previous (who is the original owner) reportedly ran E85 through it periodically which has me worried as the original fuel rail and fuel line are in place. It's also had the head gasket replaced. SO the questions is did the original owner over boost it or did the head gasket just go because of headgaskets go on these cars. Also who runs E85 with 850cc injectors when stock is 540? whats even the point running E85 with such "small" injectors? I kind of torn. If E85 was never ran through it I'd probably pick it up but it was.
  17. And that it seems to be damn near impossible to find a manual.
  18. So i've heard nothing but good things about these vehicles & the 03-08 seems to look the best. I'm actively looking for one, is anything I should be aware of (pit falls, common problems) besides that they're exclusively driven by lesianos.
  19. I've had the same blue one since.... 07, 08 maybe? I must be remembering the price of a parking pass wrong. Oh well. Mods you can lock this up.
  20. Welp it finally happened. After living in Columbus for 30 years I'm moving out to Boulder Colorado! I love the outdoors (skiing/snowboarding, dirtbiking, mountain biking, fishing, hiking, etc.) & have had it on the back burner for the past 10 years. The original plan was to go out right after college but then i met the wife & reasons to stay started to accumulate. But every year or so I'd find my self on vacation out west (Colorado, Park City UT even California). And every time I found my self asking "why in the fuck have you not yet made it your number one objective to live here"? After selling our house a few months ago we started applying for jobs & boom, accepted an offer that has us moving out this weekend. Shit's been moving at ludicrous speed since about 10 days ago. Even with just the wife, dog & I it's still been hectic as balls getting everything squared away. Buying cars, selling cars, selling motorcycles, fixing cars, fixing motorcycles, researching the most cost effective way to move & pricing out companies, de-cluttering, packing, getting a storage locker, seeing friends, family & colleague's for final good byes, finding a suitable place to live with t-minus 10 days til the move, getting the DL on how to grow pot and trying to get an in with mexican cartels. I now understand why they say move out west while you're young...it's because you haven't accumulated a bunch of shit you want to take with you! Anyways the majority of the micro bullshit is over with...which has me refocused on the larger picture of successfully completing one my life long goals & moving to one of the most beautiful places in the US. And being able to take our time getting there. Perks of hustling like we did is that we can now afford to take a leisurely rout out to Boulder over the next 7 days ( straight through it only takes 22hrs or so). I'm not done with the trip planning yet but I think we'll cut north through Chicago (do dinner with family) then hit Mount Rushmore & the Badlands and some other shit (open to additional suggestions). Hell, I'd do almost anything to avoid that drive across Kansas & Eastern Colorado on I-70;talk about mind numbing. If you can swing it, it's actually better to make that part of the drive at night. But I plan on avoiding that whole shitty corn infested experience and will swoop down from Wyoming. Anyways I'm back to being as excited as I was when we first accepted the job offer. I can't wait to get on the road.
  21. When i registered my vehicle I scribbled some random number/letter combo since i didn't know what my license plate was at the time. No one has said anything about it. Besides the ink that outlines the number stamped on the sticker has been faded out for years. None of the faculty ever change their passes or buys new cars so security wouldn't think twice. That being said I probably wouldn't slap this thing on a new your 2015 audi/bmw...no faculty member at any community college would drive a car like that.
  22. I used to be an adjunct faculty member at CSCC but we're moving out of town & i no longer need it. If you want it PM me and i'll see if i cant pull it off in one piece. I'm not sure what a student parking pass goes for these days but they were at least $75 a quarter 6 years ago. Between the value of a parking pass that does not ever need renewed (faculty member passes never expire) & the ability to park closer than all your fellow students when its sleeting or pouring down rain this thing is worth $100 OBO.
  23. It's all but sold, thanks for all the interest. Go ahead and lock it up.
  24. Selling our families 2002 Mazda Tribute automatic V6 2wd that has been in our family since 2002. It's been garage stored, well maintained, never wrecked & has been as reliable as a hammer. It has been used for various family vacation trips to the east coast over the years & I had been using it for a daily commute from Columbus to Dayton until 2012. Because of all this highway driving its has 193k on the odometer. That being said I kept it even after I stopped the high mileage daily drive because there is NO WAY i was going to find an equally reliable & well maintained DD vehicle as this one for the money it would bring. The only reason i'm selling it now it because we're moving to Colorado & we're going to need a 2nd awd/4wd vehicle. If it were not for that i'd keep it until the wheels fall off. -Brian http://i277.photobucket.com/albums/kk57/snowdoc83/Mobile%20Uploads/20140804_204243_zpsbszvmyut.jpg http://i277.photobucket.com/albums/kk57/snowdoc83/Mobile%20Uploads/20140804_204312_zpsu0bjwlfy.jpg http://i277.photobucket.com/albums/kk57/snowdoc83/Mobile%20Uploads/20140804_204220_zpsbvpcmcon.jpg http://i277.photobucket.com/albums/kk57/snowdoc83/Mobile%20Uploads/20140804_204434_zpsujjkb1by.jpghttp://i277.photobucket.com/albums/kk57/snowdoc83/Mobile%20Uploads/20140804_204544_zps32sy8ktq.jpg
