I just picked up an 08 Liberty 4WD, and have some General Grabbers AT2's already enroute. Should be a good winter lol. Lets hope it snows this year instead of having a winter like last year. Ugh.

I absolutely love mine. Everytime I get an itch to trade it in towards a Kimber, I go shoot it and remember why I never went thru with this lol. Double taps and two to the chest one to the head are very manageable with this gun.

Question for you Auto Insurance guys (total loss)
TurboGoKart replied to TurboGoKart's topic in Passing Lane
That's what I thought too. Turns out, after all that nonsense yesterday, they call back this morning and tell me it's totaled. Lol. Really? Get your ish together. Furthermore, the lady I spoke to today said they total it out at 70% value, not 80% value, AND she said the body shop used NADA, but as an insurance company, they don't touch NADA, which is what I thought. They base the value of the car basically based on comprable vehicles in my zip code. I think the woman I spoke to yesterday was severely retarded. Lol, thanks for jinxing me. I've never had any issues with them....till this nonsense. Lol. -

Nevermind. I talked to the insurance. They're cutting me the check and I'm picking my car back up. Thanks for the idea Matt. -
Question for you Auto Insurance guys (total loss)
TurboGoKart replied to TurboGoKart's topic in Passing Lane
Ok talked to the insurance, they value the car using full retail value which came out to $37xx. Lol. So at this point, because the body shop tore the car down to do the full estimate, can I still just take the check and tell the body shop not to fix it? Problem is, the insurance was paying the body shop I believe, so who do I ask for the check if I wanted to go that route? -
Wowwwww!!!! That was awesome! Great race.

My 2year old grabs one of our two pits by the collar and walks it around the house. Both pits listen to every word my 5 year old daughter says to them. Why? Because I established early on the pack order, and the dogs are at the bottom. Doesn't mean I don't like them, I just value my human's lives over my dog's lives.

If your dog is able to be booted like a football, it should be.

Question for you Auto Insurance guys (total loss)
TurboGoKart replied to TurboGoKart's topic in Passing Lane
Lmao. Thanks for the help. They don't suck ass. Ive been with them for 12yrs. I have full coverage on two vehicles, liability on another, and homeowners insurance for $626/6 months. I know there's more to an insurance company than just that but they've never done me wrong. -
Question for you Auto Insurance guys (total loss)

Matt, I'm not sure that that's an option now as the body shop tore it down to do the full estimate. -
I have USAA. I got rear ended in my 99 Civic LX, 247,4xx miles. Just got the quote from the body shop today at $2195 to repair. I called my insurance company hopeful that it would be deemed a total loss, but I'll have to call back tomorrow morning after they get the official quote from the body shop. However, the body shop said that according to their standards between them and USAA it wasn't totaled. The insurance agent told me the damages have to meet 80% of the value of the car for it to be deemed a total loss. KBB has the car in "Good" condition valued at $2944, putting the damages at 74%. The front bumper is all scratched to hell and has a large crack/hole in it (~15" in length), the drivers side rear quarter has paper plate size damage above the wheel well from being backed into, and you can tell it was already fixed because it cracked a bunch of the bondo there. There are NUMEROUS dings and dents all over the car, quite a few. They range from door dings to golf ball size dents. The clutch needs changed as well as the timing belt/water pump, and it needs a valve job. All 4 tires do not match. According to KBB standards I'd think this qualifies as closer to "Fair" condition rather than "Good" which would put the value at $2144, making the damages well over 80%. Is it 70 or 80% damages in Ohio? If I tell the insurance company those above things that are wrong with it, is there any possibility they could make the decision to deem it a total loss? Any help/pointers? I'd like to be done with this car lol.

I used Van Steyn for the first two, then Kaeding for the second two, only because of a different insurance not letting me use Van Steyn. Both are phenomenal.

This is KEY, especially the home exercises and working on getting your range of motion back as soon as possible/allowed. It can be painful to work on range of motion, but it's one thing if you push thru really hard on, you will be SO thankful in the long run. I can completely squat now pain free, like squat and sit on my heels pain free.

GREAT doc!! That's who did my two ACL reconstructions. He is extremely skilled and does a LOT of orthopedic surgeries for the OSU athletic teams. He's their go-to doc for anything orthopedic related.
-
I've had 4 knee surgeries on the same knee, 2 of those were full ACL reconstructions. I also used to work at a physical therapy clinic. My first ACL reconstruction I opted for the cadaveour graft. Recovery was pretty decent with that; painful yes, but not terrible. I had to be on crutches for 2 months prior to the first surgery so that my meniscus could heal. If you have a meniscus tear, there are two ways to fix it depending on where it tears: 1) Stay off of it and let it heal, or 2) They can trim away the torn area. Problem is, you only get 1 meniscus lol. They don't have an artificial meniscus as of yet so if it's possible for it to heal, they'll take that route. There are 3 ways to replace a torn ACL. Cadaveour graft, a graft from your own hamstring, or part of your patellar tendon. The cadaveour graft is obviously least invasive, but also comes with a rejection possibility if your body rejects the graft. In my case, my body took the graft, but due to my extremely active lifestyle and more importantly me not doing NEAR as much physical therapy as I should have to re-strengthen the muscles around my knee from being on crutches for so long, I re-tore it about 4 months after the surgery, but didn't find out until close to 4 years after the surgery when I was working in the physical therapy clinic lol. The hamstring graft is a little more invasive, and no chance of rejection, however, the con to this route is that it typically doesn't hold your joint together quite as well. Depending on your lifestyle this may or may not be an issue. When I went back for my second ACL reconstruction I opted for the patellar graft. The major upside to this route is how well it holds your knee together. There is very little movement (bad movement, aka laterally, lateral pivioting, and front to back movement) with the patellar graft, but the major downsides to this are it's a bit more painful because they take a small part of your patellar (knee cap) and tibia to use as good anchors when they anchor it in your femur and tibia. It also makes you a bit more prone to arthritis because of how secure it holds the knee joint. So there is a bit more pain and time required for recovery for this graft. With all that said, fast forward 3-4yrs from when I had the second reconstruction done with the patellar graft, and I re-tore my meniscus. I had my knee scoped to remove the torn piece of meniscus and my doctor said my knee looked remarkable (arthritis-wise) considering all the work I had had done on it. My second reconstruction w/the patellar graft was about 7yrs ago and the last meniscus trim was about 3-4yrs ago and I have not had any problems with it. I live a very active lifestyle and run regularly, and I do not have any pain associated with it now. I am able to do anything (squat, sit indian-style, etc) with it now that I could before my surgeries. I would highly recommend the patellar graft despite the added pain and recovery time, which really isn't much more all things considered. The outcome is well worth the extra couple weeks and extra pain pills, plus, who doesn't like pain pills?! Lol. Also, I would HIGHLY recommend doing ALL your physical therapy to prevent a re-injury. Take it from someone who has been there, you'd much rather only have one surgery than multiples!

Thanks for the recommendation Ryan!

I thought we had a business review section but couldn't find it. Maybe I'm blind. Anyways, thumbs up to John Ritter at GunEnvy. I had a barrel I needed threaded and was in contact with him via email. He was very very prompt at returning emails and explaining the process. My experience has been nothing but good. I asked about thread protectors as well and instead of taking the most expensive route by getting some spare barrel and making one out of that, he just suggested an AR flash hider, saving me some money. Thumbs up to them. I'll def be going back for any future work. Thanks guys!

Oh no no, I'm not saying just cause it's expensive, OR just a Kimber for that matter, that it's a helluva gun. But THAT gun, from the custom shop, is a precision shooting machine!

This. And this. No shit. Look at what gun you're using lol.
