Insuring my car for the track is a bitch, so I if my friend and I get transferred to Alabama for work I think we're going to buy and share a Formula Ford car while we're there; there are 3 tracks within 3 hours of that location. I feel you on the budget thing though, I don't know what you can do for little or no money.

I could be wrong, but I would suggest contacting the precinct of that officer and inquire as to how you would go about getting a copy, and inform them that you did not receive a copy, of the ticket. You should not have talked back to her, since she would have had to show you the radar gun in order to give you a speeding ticket. I would say if she did write you a wreckless driving ticket that you need to get a lawyer and take it to court. The cruiser cam should have caught the events of the traffic stop, and if it is as you described, a good lawyer would work wonders. I think you should fight the ticket if it happened as you decribe and you did not truely break the law.

I think it's funny, and I'm not a "gay friend." I don't think a poll was even necessary for this one. Refusal to follow rules=ban.

Hmm, you could probably call up the SHP of NC and ask it as a hypothetical question...don't tell them it's for a seatbelt though, that will probably tick them off. It's likely, since they took your license # and other stuff that you want to pay it. It would not be good to have a warrant out for your arrest the next time you're in NC. Oh, and wear your seatbelt next time...

A good friend of mine has 35% on his golf, but it's darker...when they tested it at the shop later, it's actually 30%. I think it's a combination of the original bit of tint and the tolerances of different types of aftermarket tint that are usually darker than advertised. He's never had a problem though, and he's had it that way for 2 years. I don't think I'll go any darker than what he has. Sorry to hear about your ticket. I think it depends on the municipality as to whether they pull you over specifically for that; he wanted the money, in other words.

Dr. Z06 calls out the Drift King in Vegas.

Sounds like a killer vaca!! It's unreal who you can just walk up and meet if you're in the right place at the right time...some really cool experiences too. I'm supposed to get up to Manhattan with a buddy of mine for his 21st to meet another friend of ours who is, simply put, a baller. Should prove to be an interesting night (or nights, as the case may be). Thanks for sharing! -
Spotted: Highway Patrol Dodge Charger in New Jersey
SquirrelyNutsDSP replied to SquirrelyNutsDSP's topic in Passing Lane
Mine is the silver one. We took my buddy's blue car out to pick up my silver one. It was a great drive back because we had pleanty of open road to dick around on. http://i57.photobucket.com/albums/g205/BSMechE/FrontShot.jpg http://i57.photobucket.com/albums/g205/BSMechE/RearShot.jpg -
Just got back into town; confirm!

As the title reads, I saw an unmarked Charger in Jersey pulling over a speeder. It was a dark gray with 18" black wheels, and the light bars were inside the cabin so it was hard to spot. I believe this was discussed recently, but I actually saw one and they're gonna be hard to spot before they're up on you. My friend and I drove up to CT today, about 9 hours, to pick up my new car and I plan on being back tomorrow night. What a great weekend!

A corolla with a 4agze is called an "oh shit I just spun around 3 timezzz!!!>o<" Try finding that on Autotrader. True story, I had one until April 9.

I heard it and I'm 23. Really annoying, more like painful if too loud, and I obviously woudn't choose it for a ringer. I'll stick to vibrate.

I'm a big big fan of the M3 but I'm going to wait until the new V8 model is available before I pick one up. It's likely that an 03+ M3 will be my next car purchase after an R32 daily driver. From what I have read they're pretty reliable but they have quirks about them similar to other high-performance cars, such as fuel pumps and stuff. Never really met a dissatisfied M3 owner though, check out http://www.m3forum.com Andy has his white M3 and it's well-modded, suspension-wise...maybe he'll chime in.

Sorry, it was a quick post. I just meant that if coltboostin was going to start talking shit about "slow cars" in Columbus or whatnot again that he might want to get the secret weapon guaranteed to make a kid run faster and jump higher: PF Flyers, if he wants to be E-tough, given his present predicament. (as opposed to the other shoes you mentioned) And just expressing general approval of Kenny's return.

Go Team Vette.

Swing and a miss! Wow, you absolutely whiffed on the point of that post. What Eric was trying to get across was: If you are spending a lot of money for an education of sorts just to get a "job" and nothing more, then you're stupid. You should be spending the time and money on an education for a "career" which entails much more than a simple "job." There are elements like loyalty and professional conduct that go along with a career, but if it's just a "job" then why bother? There was NOTHING implied about a bribe, so I don't know where you got that. Reading comprehension ownz joo. And don't knock factory workers, I know a few thousand of them that likely make more cash than you and many of them have 4 year college degrees.

Anyone go to the movies lately?? any recommendations??

Over the Hedge was entertaining when I saw it 2 weeks ago. Check out IMDB for the ratings and what's playing locally. -
To add my $.02, I knew a guy who was going there about 3 years ago and I believe he quit because it was overly expensive and did not teach him much that he didn't already know. I have not been impressed with the knowledge of their graduates, and I probably know as much from my own experiences as they do... Syris, you're right. Why would you want to learn about the trials and tribulations of pioneers in the field of high performance automotive technology if that was going to be your career? At what point does it cease to be a "job" and become a "career" where you have some passion and interest beyond what is taught in the classroom. I think it would be important to explain, at least briefly, in a class how the history of high performance automotive application to understand where we are technologically and where what you are learning fits...but that might just be my overly-educated brain talking. Speaking specifically to this instance, knowing who Boyd Coddington is significant and I would hope that he is at least referenced in some class there. I would expect a more comprehensive education for $20,000+

Dr. Z06 vs. Coltboostin: The Race That Never Happened
SquirrelyNutsDSP replied to Dr. Pomade's topic in Dumpster
I'd have suggested the same course of action; it's honorable to wave the $100. -
I'd choose the Sti. A good friend of mine worked at a Mitsu dealer for 2 years and he said the same thing after seeing all the Evos they dealt with. Two very capable cars though, so I don't think you can go wrong.

You're going to cause me to slit my wrists if you keep sending that car to stealerships...get a socket set, torque wrench, some 3M brand RTV-type gasket stuff, and go to town. Not even kidding. You can do it in the comfort of your own garage and do as good a job as either of those joker stealerships. If you want my credentials, look at my member status and consider that I worked at Toyota Mfg in 4cyl assembly and I'm currently under contract with TMMNA since I got my BSME. Otherwise, Scott or IPS FTW. They're good.

Gotcha bitch! The updates are still coming and the guy has posted a ton of stuff. I'm getting a kick out of this! Thieves FTL

Background: My dad had an unfortunate accident with my 93 Silverado 1/2 ton 4x4 about two months ago, and it's not really worth repairing so I need to do something with it. It has around 200,000 miles on it, with a 350 and solid drive line in addition to extra leaf springs that were installed in the rear. There's rust in the normal places on the truck, and the damage is mainly in the front end. Question: I'm not trying to post this as a for sale thread, my question is simply what should I ask for it, given the background, and if I can't sell it how do I dispose of it?

I ask Jesse the same thing all the time, but all he does is try to hit me in the nuts...
